  1. Gleeson is nowhere as bad a footballer as a lot of our support make out. In fact he may well possess the best footballing brain of anyone at the club. However right now he also possesses the largest gut of anyone at the club. He had a similar problem when he first joined and though he lost a good bit of it by last Christmas, his most recent injury lay-off has allowed it to return with interest. I don't think he is a total write off for this season as he should be fitter by the time we return from the January break and will no doubt play a role as further injuries/suspensions start to hit in the second half of the season. But overall he has been a wasted wage and will definitely be released in the summer.
  2. Took the dog out for a walk when they scored their second....got back in at half time expecting to be watching the Apprentice for the rest of my evening's entertainment to be (almost) pleasantly surprised to find we had pulled a goal back. So watched the second half more in hope than expectation. I certainly didn't think that line up we sent out had one goal in them never mind two but whaddya know? We actually started to get in their faces and in the words of Corporal Jones...." they do not like it up 'em" Still can't fathom how Cosgrove contrived to put that header wide, and although sevco were denied a stonewall penalty, we were well worth a share of the points at full time. Gallagher got m.o.m. Whilst there was no doubt his second half display was night and day compared to his first 40 minutes, it was Ferguson who provided the impetus for our revival and to me was streets ahead of everyone else. I got my wish for Taylor to return! And he has done his prospects no harm of keeping his place for the time being, at least till Ojo returns and Leigh gets put back to left back. Or will we sign Leigh permanently and find him the second LB that MvInnes permanently turns into a midfielder? Vyner however must never play in midfield again. He's a decent defender but just looks lost further forward. As ever after dropped points....sevco media is a hoot to tune into. GIRFUY ya mutant pondlife! And the Edinburgh clubs continue to provide comedy on a weekly basis ana. See you at the weekend Hobos!
  3. All I'll say is......my source was correct about Milne/Cormack and the American investment
  4. £6.5 million from Villa. But which actually was in essence a free 6 month loan which they would have used as a trial period. And if he didn't measure up to their expectations, they would have found some loophole in the agreement to call the whole thing off. There are stories circulating that McKenna now has an agreement (fuck knows if it is binding) that he can leave if a club bids £4.5million. His agent went into overdrive, resulting in QPR and (allegedly) Notts Forest then trying to low-ball us on that figure.....when their offers were rejected it triggered his transfer request. I suspect both will be back in for him in January and though his form of late hasn't been anywhere near that of a player worth that figure, I still hope we don't let him go on the cheap. Celtic, indeed, may well be back in for him with rumours that they're flogging off Ajer for megabucks.
  5. Only good thing about this game is that they have the Cup final next Sunday and are likely to rest a good few of their players. Morelos certainly won't start as they won't want to risk him getting red-carded and I think will only come on if they are struggling for a result (can anyone see them struggling??) As has been said elsewhere......defend like we did yesterday and we will need a calculator to work out the final score. Their big weakness is in defence but McInnes will no doubt shit the bed and refuse to have a go at them. Defend properly and might manage to get a draw out of this but I've mentally written it off as a defeat so disappointment won't be a factor for me at full time. 0-2
  6. There's no doubt Howe deserves a chance at a bigger club than Bournemouth. But will Arsenal think he's a big enough name? I have a feeling the top English clubs will want to see him take charge of a perceived bigger club than Bournemouth (Everton, West Ham or the likes) before they take a chance on him.
  7. A clause in his contract I'd surmise......
  8. Hopefully Vyner replaces Logan now that he's fit again. Ojo's continued absence probably means Consi staying at left back and Leigh continuing in midfield. But I'm advocating dropping Devlin and replacing him with big Gash....yes that's how bad I think Devlin has been for the past year. Out 4-0 (Main x 2, Hedges, McKenna)
  9. Just a hunch, nothing to back it up, but I think Rodgers will hold off on the Arsenal job and wait for Man U to give OGS his jotters in a few weeks time
  10. Hector is joining Fulham in January on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee. Was too late to join before the window closed in summer but apparently has been allowed to train full time with Fulham ever since. Agree we might well see one of their youngsters join on loan though
  11. I can live with that... It's the next round that bothers me. Can just bet Sevco will get the winners of EK v BSC Glasgow or Bonnyrigg v Clyde. Whereas we will get either Celtic or Hearts away
  12. And Jonathan Miller (doctor, actor, musician) 85
  13. Was there nae an open evening sometime in the last week for interested parties to view the facilities for hire?
  14. I suspect the completed training centre isn't actually worth anywhere near £12 million though. Not even that sure on the open market it would even be valued at half that figure. The running costs do seem absurdly high though. Even when we do start renting out the portion for public usage I can't imagine we would recoup much more than a quarter of that outlay. Maybe to make the numbers stack up we really do need the stadium with its restaurant, bars and whatever else they throw in to maximise income.
  15. Guaranteed Partick v Dhims will be the live game covered. If the caravan dwellers had faced Hibs next week would have fancied them to go through. But with over 2 months for Ross to get them up to speed, think Hibs will dispatch them reasonably comfortably. I'll take Coonty to be the SPL team to suffer a giant-killing act
  16. Just in.....what a shite effort that was. Strolling the game with 2 up front, in the lead (and Main appeared to be denied a certain goal by a handball that somehow both the ref and linesman managed to miss.....albeit McGinn then construed to put the resultant loose ball wide of an empty net from about 6 yards out) and tactical genius McInnes decides to go into game fucking management mode and stick on Bryson for Main. From where we instantly lose the stranglehold we had on the game.....Bryson was fucking rank rotten and if he's not fit for 90 minutes....DON'T FUCKING PLAY HIM AT ALL. Could sense St Johnstone were going to equalise for about 10 minutes before it happened. But when it did....Devlin proved why he has spent so much time on the bench in the past 12 months even when fully fit. Absolute brainfart selling the jerseys by diving in. One of our U14 defenders would know not to be so stupid, Even then, St J decide to give us a helping hand with 2 red cards in 2 minutes ( both absolutely deserved but the 2nd one could easily have seen Ferguson sent off ana for his reaction). 10 minutes plus injury time to go (so 14 in total as it turned out)...you'd think against 9 men we'd go for the jugular. Not a fucking bit of it. Tippy tappy ball retention for the first 7 minutes just wasted time and suited them down to the ground. To be fair we did throw the kitchen sink at them for the remaining time and were a bit unlucky that their keeper pulled off 4 stunning saves to deny us. But that's 2 points down the shitter when we really needed to put some distance between us and Motherwell given what is coming up for us in December with sevco at home and Celtic, a reviving Hibs and a shite Hearts that we cant beat at Tynecastle no matter how shite they are away. Consi to CH (with big Gash first choice back up), Leigh to left back, Bryson to fuck away from anywhere on matchdays until he's fully fit and Cormack to set fire to Mcinnes' hardback copy of "Game Management" by J.R.fucking Hartley first thing on Monday.
  17. Its what defender marketing wifie Annie has gotten close to that I want to know..... (well have it confirmed would be more accurate). Poor woman on gardening leave.....
  18. If they get us winning League titles again they can build a stadium out of pink rhinestones and hold weekly Pride marches inside for all I care.
  19. He's been our most consistent performer for at least 18 months now. There are so many Consi haters and yes the loon is limited but for large chunks of his career he's been played out of his natural position and has never moaned about it, just got on with things to the best of his ability. Every single one of us would have given anything to be in the position he is. An Aberdeen fanatic living the dream of representing the club he supported all his life. The way things are these days....he might very well be the last player ever to reach 500 appearances for us. Anyone with that sort of service deserves to be recognised as a club legend.
  20. Hold on to your hats (anyone else seen the stuff circulating this afternoon......clue- involves the son of the owner of Atlanta Falcons?)
  21. Couldn't give a shit how we achieve it. Oldco bankrupted themselves hoovering up trophies for 25 years. Celtic now do the same (albeit with no dodgy tax avoidance schemes allowing them to attract players that ordinarily they couldn't afford). I'd love a Yank consortium to put hundreds of millions in, allowing us to overtake whatever the record number of consecutive championships ends up at. And have Champions League football at the new stadium every year. Most of all, I'd love watching the fans of the arse cheeks crying about how unfair it all was. And also watching how the SFA/SPFL would suddenly attempt to find a way of altering the rules in order to ensure the arse cheeks could win again that fair play encompassed all clubs.
  22. Extremely inconvenient timing for this to crop up in the middle of a general election campaign. No matter how much she tries to deflect.....Sturgeon was his deputy when all this was happening. I'd like to think it wouldn't cost the SNP any votes but I'm sure it will. Salmond was a smooth operator as First Minister. Probably the best we have had to date in the relatively brief history of Holyrood. But as a person he is a total cunt. I've no doubt whatsoever of his guilt and hop he gets what's coming.
  23. I agree with the Spurs part. However with England? They've got a fantastic group of youngsters starting to establish themselves in the international set up. With home advantage next year they might just have a decent shot at winning the European championship. My apathy with the international game, brought on by watching Scotland's 30 year decline into utter dross has also caused me to no longer even caring if England win, such has my ABE enthusiasm waned.
