  1. Unless Derby punt Cocu sharpish I'm now convinced already there is no way back for him at Derby. They aren't doing particularly well though so Cocu getting punted isn't an unrealistic proposition. When he can't even make the bench (and taking into account the shenanigans of the 3 Derby players last week, one of whom is out for the season) it says a lot what the current management think of him. Derby I'm sure would prefer him to go somewhere that the receiving club can make as close a contribution to his Derby earnings as possible. That's sevco up here......but given his lack of action, any loaning club has the nap hand over Derby. Sevco have a surfeit of midfielders and I think they'd be mainly interested in him as a left back (if at all). Given that we were willing to make him the highest paid player in the club's history, we could actually end up getting him back on loan in January for a couple of grand cheaper than we were going to pay him on a new contract....albeit without having his services for 6 months. We certainly need him as things have not panned out as most of us thought they would in the heady optimistic days of pre-season
  2. I really doubt Keane would be willing to move to a northern outpost of the UK unless we were offering the kind of money that top end English Championship clubs offer but a hefty transfer budget to match. In reality I just don't think he would take any job in Scotland bar the Celtic one. McInnes isn't getting sacked as things stand. 3 year contract with the ink barely dry....it would just cost too much to punt him and Doc plus bring in a new management team on top. BUT.....the board might be forced to act under 2 sets of circumstances. Firstly...if he has us in relegation bother by mid to late February of any season of his contract. Which despite our general shyteness up to now really shouldn't be a problem as long as the injury list eases. (it might be a problem if we keep losing a player for every one that returns). Secondly...….our drastic form continues and for a month to 6 weeks our crowds plunge to 9k or less. I think he's here for a while yet though
  3. McKenna could be in the running for this apparently although I suspect discretion will turn out to be the better part of valour and I think at best a bench place will be the outcome. Consi definitely fit. Hibs have been God awful all season but getting to the League Cup semi plus drawing with the dhims will certainly have boosted their confidence. Given our horrendous form and decimated squad I don't think a draw would be a disaster in this one, save for Motherwell perhaps being able to put a bit more daylight between us if they win their game. 1-1 (McGinn)
  4. There's a reason why none of the SPL clubs took a punt on him. Offers nothing except goalscoring. When Ayr went right off the boil in the second half of last season at times he was benched for a number of games. In the system we play he would look just as bad as he did in his spell with us. The one club where he could do really well is sevco, who supposedly were credited with an an interest last year but never followed through. He needs service to be effective and they have plenty players to provide that. He might cost them a million now but it would be pretty much risk free for them, he'd certainly be 3rd choice at best but Freddo will eventually pick up suspensions in the New Year and Defoe at his age wont recover from injuries as quickly as he did 5 years ago.
  5. Its Hibs so I think we will scrape over the 11k mark to around 11250. Any of the "lesser" sides then Id have went a thousand less
  6. Update on the Dm sacking It was a wind up apparently. Hilarious. Boy is taking a right slagging for being a dildo
  7. I'd be more concerned if they weren't going out tbh. At least, despite the shitty performances and shitty tactics.....they appear to have some semblance of squad unity. I still haven't watched the highlights and doubt I ever will. But the players should be made to watch the full 90 minutes after training every day this week to show them the unacceptability of the perceived lack of effort. The international break cannot come quickly enough for us. With so many players injured, and with Mcinnes having no seeming idea how to use different tactics, I fear a Hibs side semi resurgent will probably capitalise on our vulnerability...….even though we generally seem to have their number. Hopefully a 2 week break will allow a few of our injured players to get back training and at least be close to a return to the side. Right now I'd have Devlin ranked 4th choice of our centre halves
  8. Aye I checked out the odds for 5-0 pre-match and was quoted 40-1......I was expecting double that. Also nearly got it right about the virus, apparently Consi was out as he has gastro-eneteritis. If he could have passed it on to Logan, Leigh and Devlin I think we definitely would have qualified for the postponement. Noticed last night on the Hat that a normally fairly sensible member has gone all in and says Mcinnes will be sacked. Source " a club insider". Was supposed to be announced at 10pm last night but was postponed as McInnes is spending the weekend at home with the family. Well he would do seeing as the family home is only about 10 mies along the motorway from Mordor. Anyway he is adamant it will happen tomorrow. All I'm saying is I'll believe it when I see it. Just don't think we are close to an ongoing crisis at this point.
  9. Stopped watching after the 3rd went in. Horrifically embarrassing performance. Yes we were decimated by injuries to key players and I really couldn't see anything other than a defeat. But we barely laid a glove on them. And of course, Greg fucking Stewart just had to be in the thick of it all. Sevco were by no means at full strength themselves....Stewart in from the cold ( ice storage tbh), no Kamara, Kent, Aribo etc and still it was men against boys. Plenty supporters now calling for McInnes' head on various social media platforms. Won't be happening for now unless he randomly decides to walk. The board just won't sack him due to the cost of paying up him and Doc's 3 year contracts and having to splash out for a new managerial team on top. However lose at home next weekend to a Hibs side gaining in confidence (whilst ours is shot and utterly depleted) then the first "McInnes oot" protests may be held outside the stadium. I can't see the crowd being much more than 11-11.5k either due to the growing apathy. Nothing will happen at that point but we still have Motherwell away and Celtic home to come, get nothing out of those.....eminently possible.....and I think the crowds will start to crumble. I'd guess that under 9k for a few games and the board will then be forced to act, however expensive it is. All hypothetical of course at this point and we may find that with a few players back we halt the rot. This league minus the arse cheeks could actually be very exciting due to every team being as shyte as each other.....you couldn't predict at all who would win it and who would get relegated.
  10. Not sure if you saw what happpened with Derby players the other night but he might be getting a chance soon. Team were out on a club function at a restaurant, most players went home at 8pm but a few went on to a pub. Around midnight, and totally pissed up...a couple decided to drive home, one with the club captain in the back seat. A mile down the road they both crashed?? (no explanation why but pics show a Range Rover concertina'd into a tree). Club captain knocked out and knee smashed to smithereens...out for the season. Both drivers arrested and suspended by the club pending an internal investigation. If he can't get a game after that then his time there must be up. At the start of the season I thought our midfield had improved to the point that Shinnie wouldnt have gotten a game had he stayed. Now I pray we get him back on loan in January.
  11. Tbh i'm hoping that a virus strikes overnight decimating the remainder of our fit players and the game gets postponed. If it goes ahead I can see us shipping 5
  12. I actually thought Campbell came on to a decent game after a dodgy first 10 minutes. And of all our home grown talent I think he is the one likeliest to make a decent career for himself. McLennan was rank though. And injured yet again. Bit concerning that a loon his age is having problems so often.
  13. Totally agree about him not being as good as that list of managers...…….well perhaps Knox excepted. There are those who will say Miller won nothing and it is fair comment. However I think Miller's team would walk the league today by 10 points minimum and the football they played was a joy to watch into the bargain. However we do live in changed times and I don't just see us not touching the arse cheeks this season...…..as things stand I don't see us touching them ever again. The financial gap is just too great. The SFA and SPFL have got what they want. When push comes to shove, they really couldn't give a shit about the rest of the clubs.
  14. Read the other day that John McDonnell thinks Labour's next leader should be female and that they have lots of talented females well capable of doing it. Fuck that. Emily Thornberry I wouldn't trust to make a cheese and pickle sandwich without causing food poisoning. Diane Abbot? Barely knows what day of the week it is. Rebecca Long-Bailey....professional coat tail hanger on. Shami Chakrabarti...........tainted by political correctness and an ocean-going sense of self entitlement. As for Dawn Butler......words fail me. The 2 women who really do impress me in the party are Chi Onwura and Lisa Nandy, both backbenchers but with the correct mix of education, personality and most of all realism to do the job effectively. Sadly neither will even be quoted as a contender. Corbyn will suffer a humiliating defeat in the forthcoming election, he will certainly finish second in number of seats as usual but I suspect the Lib Dems will actually gain a bigger total vote (doing their claims to adopt proportional representation no harm). Of all the Shadow Cabinet, Starmer seems the only one with the credentials to take over the hot-seat once Corbyn stands down as he surely will.
  15. I agree he wanted the Hun job and as far as I'm aware....yes the rumours of what he is getting paid are indeed true (cant comment on the new extension but you can be sure its on at least the same terms as the one Wiggy handed over after the sevco flirtation) I've always said that the only way he gets fired is if he has us in relegation trouble come late Feb/early March of any season. Which, as others have said, is unlikely. We could easily slip down the table to anywhere between 5th and 8th though. With the size and length of his contract, the board wouldn't be happy but, bearing in mind what he's being paid, I doubt they'd take action on the strength of that alone. Certainly for the first 2 years of the contract, I think they'd consider it far too expensive to bullet him (paying up the residual on his contract, plus Docherty's alongside) and have to cough up for a replacement management team on top (for sure they won't be appointing anyone as expensive but its still an extra spending they haven't accounted for) There seems to be a groundswell of opinion amongst our support that his time is up. He had this season on his contract and the sensible thing to have done was wait to see how e were doing in January.....poor in the leaue with no League Cup victory then he could have been told he could see out the season, thanked for his excellent service and a parting of ways announced. He would still have seen his pet project the new training ground opened as he certainly deserved to. I think the only way he will get punted now is for the fans to start protesting a la Hearts style at every home game from now on PLUS watching the crowds dwindle away. On paper we are averaging about 14.5k but that's including all season tickets. In practice is more likely to be 12.5-13k. I think it would take crowds significantly dropping from that level....not just to around 10k but maybe 8.5-9k and then the board would seriously have to consider his position. The next month looks quite bleak on paper.....both arse cheeks, Hibs and Motherwell to face. Hibs are rank but we aint great ourselves. I don't think we will come out of it with nothing but I don't expect any more than 4 points max, more likely between 1 and 3. If that happens crowds will certainly drop and the protests should begin.
  16. Yet another turgid performance, certainly better than we were at Livi but that wouldn't have been difficult. I thought we were comfortable in the second half but Campbell having to be replaced due to cramp and going to a back 5 just totally changed the game and allowed Hearts to build up late pressure that they were struggling to do earlier in the second half....Campbell and Ferguson were by far our best performers on the night and though I still think that Campbell is a year off being ready to be a first choice player, the signs were that him and Ferguson could anchor that midfield for the future. Leigh should have finished them off in extra time, seemed more difficult to miss. However once we hit penalties I had a sense of impending doom. We've done well in shoot-outs in recent times and were due a bad result in one. Still never expected Cosgrove to be one of the sinners. I think his effort finally landed in the penguin enclosure at Edinburgh zoo. On to Ibrox. With utter dread. Wilson looked to be struggling when he went off and doubt he will be available. A threadbare squad playing with no great confidence (or ability tbh)….it could get embarrassing. Right now I'd snap your hand off for a 2-0 defeat and walk out with our dignity intact but of course on the day I'll be back full of confidence we can pump the Huns gloriously.
  17. The strangest thing I have thought about McInnes was his decision leave his family down in Renfrewshire and not move them up here permanently. I sort of get why he won't do it now despite the new 3 year contract in his hipper as his children are now of exam taking age and he wouldn't want to upset their education at a vital stage....but he's been here well over 6 years now.....when he first took the job on they would have been primary school or just into high school. I doubt this would have been tolerated in the not too distant past. Those of you that are of a similar vintage will remember dear old Jum McLean's diktat, written into players' contracts, that they had to live within a certain radius of Tannadice, roughly equivalent to that bounded by Forfar, Perth, North East Fife and Arbroath. Of course Human Rights Laws would prevent such doings in these enlightened times. After a lot of enthusiasm prior to the season starting at, for once, getting players in early to allow them to bed into to club, it's all gone dreadfully flat. Any optimism has been washed away in a torrent of harsh reality that we really aren't very good. Sure for the 2nd season in a row the squad has suffered a horrendous run of injuries (last season early suspensions played a part) but it has become evident we are now in the situation that the SFA craved.....a duopoly of the Glasgow clubs dominating with everyone else just a supporting act, essentially only to make the numbers up. Yes we are third....but that is because the other clubs aren't very god either plus we haven't faced the Glasgow clubs yet but are about to enter a month where we face both and Hibs and Motherwell. Conceiveable we could get hee haw out of those fixtures and find ourselves in the bottom half of the league. I hope that our esteemed chairman is now regretting that contract extension each morning he wakes up. Because to get rid of McInnes now is going to be a very costly exercise.
  18. If you offered me penalties right now I'd snap your hand off
  19. I'm not sure we will ever see that happen but I honestly don't think it's as bizarre a combination as it looks on paper. Would we really be any worse off by getting Gallagher to fuck out the team and playing 2 strikers? I for one don't think we would. Of course it goes without saying I'd rather see Wilson alongside Cosgrove but each passing week that goes by with him kicking his heels on the bench makes me wonder what the deal is with him. I can only rationalise it that he has some sort of injury which the club are trying to keep secret that limits his participation. It cannot be that DM doesn't fancy him in the system we play. If that were the case it would have been pointless signing him permanently. Record at Tynecastle is pretty pathetic. I'm half hoping that Hearts win today's Edinburgh derby on the grounds that they are so shite that they don't have 2 wins on the trot in them. However it would give them confidence and could start a revival. Nope just cant get any enthusiasm at all for this game.
  20. Horrendous performance and the fact that we have risen to 3rd place is purely cosmetic.....other sides have faced at least one of the arse cheeks by now, some have faced both. We have that dubious pleasure coming up in the forthcoming weeks and as it stands, given our current form we can expect a couple of total horsings. We do have a bizarrely large injury list right now, but we comfortably have the third biggest playing budget and as such should be able to play teams like Livi off the park given the enormous financial disparity. However Livi also had a few injuries to contend with and despite that managed to totally play us off the park. The result we got was a mugging that should be shown on Crimewatch rather than Sportscene. Felt sorry for Main, only service he got was 60 yard bombs up the park from Consi, Vyner and particularly Devlin. And not a team-mate within 20 yards of him. McGinn and Gallagher were totally useless, Campbell not great (and lay so deep he was more of a 3rd central defender), Hedges largely anonymous save for the cross for our 1st goal. Joe had another horror moment which directly led to them hitting the bar where they really should have scored (although he did make a save first half that certainly prevented a goal). Vyner continues to prove he is a central defender being played out of position. Ferguson....worked hard but gave away too many fouls. Cant see us troubling Hearts midweek on this form. The thought of sevco next weekend fills me with dread. They would have stuck 5 past us today. McInnes and co cannot have managed to blank out the cacophony of boos ringing out from our fans from around the half hour mark onwards. The result is absolutely the only positive we can take from today (well maybe if our injury list hasn't grown any bigger but thats still to be confirmed). That contract extension is looking like a worse decision with each passing week.
  21. Had no idea that wee fud was working just along the road from me. Took a bit of a pasting in the end so GIRFUY Ferguson.
  22. I'd imagine he would (under normal circumstances) be well out of our price range. However either he has had no interest so far, or he's turned down moves he doesn't fancy/don't pay enough. He will have earnt enough at WBA to ensure he never has to work again if he doesn't want to so I suspect the question would be more "Would he?" Not sure he'd fancy uprooting from The Midlands to a northern outpost to earn a quarter of what he's used to. Anyway right now it's a holding midfielder we need more than anything. Not likely to see Ojo before Xmas and Campbell himself is only just returning from injury.
  23. Given that the injury happened during his time with us, its certainly the right thing to do to help him in any way we can with his rehabilitation. Still think it is a bit of a long shot that he will recover to an extent that allows him to play football at the top level again, given that he's now done both knees in but there was no doubt when he played that he was a class act so fingers crossed he does. Can possibly see him getting a "pay as you play" deal for the second half of the season which would probably suit both sides......but I reiterate. I think it's more likely he will sadly prove to be unable to resume a professional career at the top level again.
  24. Wouldn't get too upset about it Seabass. A fairly rich conman will be along shortly, buying up all the assets for around a quarter of their true value, create a new company (Dnevco) and then reapply to join the league in place of the dead club. A couple of weeks later he will announce he bought the old club too, only the company was liquidated and thousands upon thousands of Dnipro fans will buy into the con story, aided and abetted by the Ukrainian FA and press. Of course legally they won't be the same club at all and will be forced to call themselves "The Dnipro" when they are admitted to the league system, first match against Brechinski Oblast (with televised highlights usurping top league matches that day naturally). The "The" will be quietly dropped in the forthcoming weeks and Dnipro will henceforth be "on a journey" culminating with them eventually reaching the top Ukrainian league, although not without embarrassingly failing to do so at the first attempt, coming 3rd in a league where their budget is around 4 times the combined budgets of all other clubs in that league, yet getting a second chance through the play-off system and still fuck it up, getting horsed in the final by Mamawellgrad 6-1 on aggregate. Promotion will occur the following season, the press announcing that "they are back where they belong" and the club themselves will sell season tickets on a promise they are "Going for 55" despite having won nothing more significant than the Irn Bruski cup in their glorious 4 year history. Fuck Dnevco and all who sail in her....
  25. Ricksen deid……. An absolute cunt of a human being when he was healthy and my loathing for him was of astronomical size but MND is a nasty end for every sufferer....I nursed a number of patients in my career. Takes away every semblance of the dignity and independence they once had. He was a father of a young quine and a youngish wife ana. Really hope it doesn't scar his daughter mentally...really is a horrific way to go
