  1. Listened to the radio Clyde phone in with the Liverpool game on silent on Tv. Sevconian called asking if the panel had heard anything of "massive investment" about to be announced down at Mordor. Apparently the panellists ( Mark fuckin Guidi and Jim even more fuckin Duffy) have indeed heard that there are investors sitting in the background about to fire in cash to try to ensure Celtic don't get to 10IAR. This is seemingly why Dave "career criminal" King high tailed it back to South Africa the other week having resigned the chairmanship. I hope it turns out to be a pile of orange tinged shite but even if it's true.....Scotland is still viewed as a footballing backwater and persuading the really top players to come here.....even for big cash....might prove harder than they think. Anyway Fuck The Huns
  2. ^^^^^ This He had been with us long enough though to understand EXACTLY how pissed off the fans would be at him joining them. And going as Goram's understudy (he was actually 3rd choice for a good portion of his time there). I've sort of forgiven him now but can't deny at the time it totally sickened me
  3. Boyd retired in the summer. Might be a shout for whoever gets the job's assistant but I don't think they'll take a chance on him for the hotseat just yet. Having reflected on it...I think they'll go for Gary Holt at LIvi. Is a Killie fan and ex-player and has shown he can get maximum value out of a limited budget.
  4. It was as left wing as Labour have been since the (also disastrous) 1983 election. You probably don't remember that one, if indeed you were even born. I was in 5th year at high school so just too young to vote in it but my old man who had been a card carrying Labour member since his teens even couldn't bring himself to vote for them (he didn't vote at all that year). I have no doubt a few of Corbyn's policies would have been popular with the low wage earners raising families. But in common with Michael Foot in 83, there were no detailed plans of how it was all going to be paid for, save for raising taxes on the very wealthy. Both would have bankrupted the UK in short order. But at least Foot was a genuinely nice man. Corbyn is a cunt
  5. She's just Corbyn with a front bottom. Surely to fuck their members can see that a hard left manifesto is as popular as eating a shite for breakfast? They have to get behind Lisa Nandy. Otherwise they'll die as a party
  6. I presume we are paying Gleeson to fuck off early? Cos there sure as hell won't be anyone wanting to sign him given he's at least 10kg overweight. I had high hopes for him too. Has an excellent football brain but has never been remotely in good enough condition in his time with us.
  7. Can see them appointing Fat Sally
  8. There are still around 350000 English residents of Scotland eligible to vote. Last time round only 9% of them voted for independence. I can't see that figure improving by a significant amount. It was the other 91% who stopped independence. Had they been prevented from voting (and I absolutely accept they must be allowed their say) we would already be free.
  9. Right now I'd snap your hand off if I thought we could escape with just a 3 goal defeat. Doubtless by the weekend I'll be a believer again and think we'll horse them.
  10. Heard so many supporters say things will have changed for Mcinnes now Cormack is in charge. Some claiming that he is no fan of DM like Wiggy was. How naïve of them to think that Cormack wasn't involved in signing off on Deek's new contract in the summer. We are stuck with him for the foreseeable
  11. Interesting "plan B" put forward by Angus Brendan MacNeil....MP for the Ooter Hebrides. In the event Bojo refuses a second referendum, all 48 SNP MP's to resign and force 48 by-elections standing on a (if I have picked it up correctly) ticket of abandoning a second referendum and just declaring independence should a majority in Scotland overall (min 30) be re-elected. I suppose it would indeed show how many SNP voters are truly voting for independence as opposed to using their vote as just a rejection of the Tories (or Labour and Lib Dems). And I suspect would have a greater chance of success rather than an indyref 2 right now, which I still maintain would result in another No victory at this point in time. Personally, if I were formulating SNP policy now, I'd be creating laws and initiatives specifically designed to totally piss off England (ie massive public spending on shit that they don't/won't get) and hopefully encourage their more nationalistic citizens to start to think about the benefits of English independence. Because right now I just think that independence by default is probably our best chance.
  12. Seems as if my shopping trip to Edinburgh with daughter was the more entertaining option. Nevertheless....despite a turgid performance, results elsewhere have conspired to actually make it a very good win, with us back in third place leapfrogging 'Well and putting further distance between ourselves and Killie/Hibs. Although Hamilton are rock bottom, albeit on goal difference.....they've given both the arse cheeks difficult games recently, indeed they really should have taken a point off Celtic. They're horrible to watch but fully expect them to still be in our division next season. On to the paedodome next week. Ah well it was nice being in 3rd place if only for 6 days.
  13. Agree he would be better heading off somewhere like St Johnstone and getting a game every week. For some reason DM doesn't seem to want to play him regularly despite our midfield injury situation. That he seems to rank Vyner a better midfielder is really rather bizarre. I'm not sure how soon (if ever) Bryson will be fully fit although Ojo is now apparently back in full training so we might see him before long. But as it stands, if either Ferguson, Vyner or Leigh get injured, we would be forced to play Campbell, if only because Gleeson right now looks more like a department store Santa Claus than a professional footballer. Rumours are resurfacing that McGeouch will be leaving Sunderland at the end of his contract in the summer and that we are interested again That would put Campbell even further down the pecking order.
  14. No its a different club. FC Dnipro were liquidated in June. They had been relegated into the amateur divisions in Ukraine due to "financial irregularities" where they actually faced SC Dnipro in a couple of derby matches resulting in punch ups between the rival sets of fans. SC Dnipro are certainly playing their matches in the ground FC Dnipro used.
  15. Taking daughter Xmas shopping in Edinburgh but still probably more enjoyable than what's likely to be served up on Saturday. Maybe. Can see either a turgid 0-0 draw or we go berserk and stick 4 or 5 past them in what still would be a pretty poor match to watch despite the score. Fuck it I'll go all in 4-0 (Cosgrove, Main, Ferguson, Leigh)
  16. Biggest disappointment for me was season 85-86 when we blew the chance of the Treble. IIRC we were sitting 5 points clear in mid-December (remember in those days it was only 2 points for a win) and proceeded to go on a horror run through January/February/March. Difficult to say why we went from being so dominant to being utter horseshit overnight but this was the season where Hearts blew their double. They went on an equally bizarre run of form as we did, going unbeaten for months on end....I'm sure they kicked this run off by beating us 1-0 at Tynecastle in the mid November when they were sitting second or third bottom of the league. Thankfully (and hilariously) ourselves and Celtic ruined their season in the course of a week. Of course by that point the Gothenburg team was well on the way to dissipating, and Eric Black had told Fergie he was leaving in the summer leading to him being dropped for a good part of the later stages in the season. Perhaps our collapse showed Fergie that the good times were coming to an end....within 6 months he was offski to Man Utd who were an utter basket case in those days. And of course oldco started their revolution in the summer. Still it was a privilege to have been a young loon and witnessing those crazy few years when we were the best team in Europe

Liverpool won't blow it from where they are. Although I do think City will narrow the gap down to around 6 points by season's end. Leicester, as RS says, will likely drop points before New Year and will lose the odd game over the course of the season that the other 2 won't....somewhere unexpected like Bournemouth or Burnley.
  18. I knew him more from his time at Raith. He's a legend there and on his performances there certainly deserved the chance of playing at a higher level. I think we probably signed him 18 months past his peak though
  19. I was all for us trying to get Allan onboard in the summer, would have solved the problem number 10 position instantly. I know his heart was set on moving to Hibs....but so was Ojo until we blew them out the water financially.
  20. I'd have a whole team of Hetherstons before I'd have Gary McDonald, Forrester, Foster, D'jaffo, McNamara, Tommy Wright. I could probably come up with more but suffice to say that Silky comes nowhere near the top of my most hated ever. We have had a fair few wage thieves down the years though.
  21. Horrendous display, should have been one down in under a minute though having survived that, we should then have went into half-time one up.....Cosgrove missing a tap in rebound from a decent Wilson shot that a primary school kid would have knocked in with ease. Second half....again they could/should have scored within seconds of the restart but was only delaying the inevitable. I said pre-match that I didn't think Boyle v Consi was a good idea and so it proved with him burning him for pace to be clean through on Joe and finished well.....great pass from Allan setting it up. McKenna didn't look too clever either, way too slow to react to the danger. Triple substitution at 1-0 down seemed to be a big over-reaction. And bizarrely involved taking off Vyner who had actually been ok ( ok was about the top performance level from any of our players) and leaving on Gallagher who reverted to type and was 75% anonymous/25% shyte. We chased the game and inevitably Boyle burned us for pace on the break to kill off any hope we had. Although we certainly should have had a penalty shortly after when Hedges was brought down in the box.....his theatrical way of going down instead cost him a booking and the penalty refused by the ref. By then we knew ity wasn't our day and Hivs 3rd was inevitable, the heads having one down by that point. Quite a vocal rendition of "Derek, Derek, get tae fuck" ensued at full time. Of course he won't but with Celtic and Hearts away before the break, can't see us taking more than 6 points from the 4 games we play (yep even with Hearts being shittier than the inside of a Simon Stainrod shoe). If we take less than 4 then the pressure will start to mount. Get no points then we might be in business ( I think I'd probably accept writing this season off to get a managerial change tbh) Derek....get tae fuck
  22. We don't have to sell. It's a seller's market, he's on a decent length of contract and we are not needing the cash (yet anyway). If a club wants him, they'll have to meet our valuation. He won't go for £2 million
  23. I'm still for dropping Logan with Vyner replacing him. Although he was ok against sevco, his booking where he chopped down (aribo?) their player in the corner resulting in a yellow card was totally unnecessary and some refs may even have given a red card as it was so reckless. His mind seems to be elsewhere a lot of the time and has been that way for ages. Of course the rumours about his personal life are not going away and may explain a lot. But he's one of DM's favourite sons so what I want is irrelevant and if he plays it wouldn't surprise me to find him getting on the scoresheet. I've no concerns about Taylor playing a second match in 72 hours. As long as he concentrates on defending, he's more than good enough to keep Doidge quiet. Kamberi worries me more but he seems to blow hot and cold and when he's cold he's like a man down for Hivs...hopefully it's a chilly day in Leith for him. Gallagher I just don't rate but his second half performance where he harassed the hell out of the sevco back line will probably ensure he stays in the side. The goal will no doubt have boosted his confidence as well. Consi probably stays at left back with Leigh continuing in midfield. Hivs have got Boyle back fit and he is even quicker than Kent....it could be a problem for us although to be fair to Consi he handled Kent pretty well after the first half an hour. In 1-3 (Cosgrove, Ferguson, Logan)
  24. Out of the 3 players we are likely to sell for big money, I'd say McKenna will be the easiest to replace. Sure he has made himself a Scotland first choice pick, but that is more down to the other options being worse than him rather than him being true international class. Don't forget before McInnes was forced into picking him, 6 months beforehand on loan at Ayr he struggled to make the team on a regular basis. Even so, although I'm resigned to him leaving in January, I hope we don't just let him walk for relative peanuts. In the Championship, I think he will prove to be a run of the mill defender, but even run of the mill defenders go for upwards of £4million down there so that is what we should be pocketing for him ana.
  25. Which was exactly the point I was making. Well sort of. In his case the body isn't fit enough to act on the brain's instructions.
