  1. South Africa taught them a lesson. Woke up to headlines of "England Expects".....every time the jingoistic guffie press come out with that shite England always seem to find a way to gloriously fuck it all up. They'll still win team of the year no doubt
  2. They've got 2 further home Europa Cup games to come. 50000 crowd, at roughly £35 a head plus hospitality etc means they're raking in the best part of £2million per game. The bastards might even make it through although I pray that doesn't happen. It will all come home to roost if they fail to stop 10IAR. That is the point your average orc will decide he would rather keep his giro for buying buckfast and white lightning rather than investing it on a season ticket. But right now....the gamble they're taking appears to be paying off. And Morelos was in the press today inviting offers from England for him in January. They'll certainly get £10million for him, maybe a bit more. They're safe for now. But they quite obviously haven't learned any lessons from the way their dead ancestors behaved.
  3. Saw the footage of the team training at Cormack Park today for the first time. Even Ojo was out on the pitch. Bryson took full part so suspect he's fit to start if we want to do so. Agree that we will win this comfortably. Bruce had his appeal rejected (I'm amazed, from the highlights I saw he quite clearly played the ball first) so Killie are without their 3 best centre-backs, just hope DM has the guts to set us up to have a real go at them. Im going to go controversial......5-1 ( Cosgrove x 2, McGinn, Leigh, Hedges)

    Betting

You would be as well wiping your arse with a fiver and flushing it down the crapper as sticking it on Hertz to beat sevco. A far better bet is a double on both Celtic and sevco to score 4 or more goals
  5. If England beat South Africa tomorrow then I'd agree Farrell is a shoo in. Couldn't really argue against him tbh...the female athletes have had very little press coverage, Farrell is on every back page and will be on every front page on Sunday
  6. Any player that was part of a side to win us a trophy in my opinion automatically gains club legendary status. Some may "taint" their reputations later on (mainly by joining one of the arse cheeks in whatever capacity/becoming an utter cock in character) but their legendary status should never be removed. Guys like me lucky enough to remember the golden era stretching from Ally MacLeod's reign through to the end of the Smith/Scott era were spoilt. Virtually any player in that era had a reasonable call to have a pitch named after him but obviously the Gothenburg team will be revered as the ultimate side in all our history. If you were born later I can understand why guys more relevant to your era would gain your support. Jess, therefore should not really be a surprise to anyone. He was without doubt the best home grown player in the time he was with us. There is no doubt that had he been 10 years older he would have been in the Gothenburg squad ahead of Hewitt....maybe Black too but that would be a bit more up for debate. Bottom line is.....every player who has received the honour of a pitch being named after him fully deserves the accolade
  7. I've always said that once the stadium is built, the 4 stands would be named thus....Mainer (The Gothenburg Greats)…...opposite side (Sir Alex Stand.....of which he will be pwoud, vewy pwoud)…...home end (Willie Miller Stand) and away end (Donald Stand although wouldn't surprise me if it was the Wiggy Stand alternatively) When Miller gets his stand I think his pitch would go to another deserving case. Clark has got the youth academy named after him.....there's probably a few deserving cases and Id have no problem if Shewan got the pitch
  8. That's what I presumed about 6 weeks ago when it became clear that Hearts were even worse than we are and that Levein was under pressure. However at that point Ross was still in a job (albeit himself under severe pressure). I then read that Ross had previously been on the coaching staff at Tynecastle and that Levein had fired him from that position. He took a thinly veiled swipe at Avril in the press thereafter. Given that Levein is remaining to see out his contract as Director of Football, athough no longer on the board, and won't leave until season's end I doubt Ross would be keen on returning while Avril is still there. If he is who they really want, I suspect they'll let McCann continue as caretaker until season's end then bring him on board. Of course there may be another vacancy cropping up 3 miles away in the not too distant future as well....especially if Celtic deliver a horsing at the weekend in the League Cup semi
  9. Bit more info from the Q + A Cormack said that there is a height restriction imposed on the new stadium so the steepness (or lack of) of the stands is compromised. Stated that "safe standing" seating costs three times more than normal seating. Directly asked the attendees if they would prefer 20k all seated or smaller capacity (17-18k) with safe standing. Unanimous vote for smaller capacity with the safe standing. They've looked at Spurs ground and they like the idea of a supporters bar running the length of the north stand, access either by membership or extra payment on top of ticket price,
  10. Last minute of injury time equaliser for Hivs….will that save Hecky?? Lets hope so. Herats heading to the bottom of the league
  11. Livi go 1 up at Hivs Killie not long equalised at Motherwell despite a man sent off after 5 minutes. Could do with that score staying the same sevco 3 up at Coonty….the Rat with a double
  12. 1 up.....Ferguson. Sounded a decent goal after a pretty turgid opening 10 minutes
  13. Seen a few comments from someone that was there. Not a great deal of new info......season tickets (by about 1000) and DNA down on last season most significant info.....McInnes got new contract on strength of a couple of senior players wanting assurances he would be there for the future prior to them extending contracts, One was obviously Lewis, debate about whether the other was Ferguson or Cosgrove Stadium was mentioned as being 2022....Im presuming this means starts getting built but the loon never expanded just said "stadium 2022"
  14. He was with us as a youth. We would likely be able to double his Kilmarnock wage. But so would pretty much every EFL1 club. FWIW....I think we could find a younger and better right back who would cost no more in pretty much every league in Europe.
  15. With Ferguson back for this, hoping that Vyner replaces Logan at right back. Suspect we will persist with Considine at left back for the time being and Leigh remaining in midfield. Hedges supposedly been carrying a knock which is why he missed the last couple of games. Will he be risked (to start anyway) on Accies' monstrosity of a pitch? I'm not so sure. Same applies to Bryson. McLennan was out of his depth on Sunday but we might be forced to put him back in. Needs to buck his ideas up sharpish. McGinn was also dreadful and I suspect he will be the one to drop to the bench.....again the pitch likely having a lot to do with the decision. Of course Main is available again Out...and I salute any of our fans making the journey to have their arses frozen in a total shithole and likely paying through the nose to watch a turgid display albeit scraping a win in the end 0-1 (McKenna)
  16. Lampard did a year at Derby...….and proved he had a bit of an aptitude for it. Gerrard? I'm led to believe is pretty much the "front face" but the real talent is MacAllister. Given sevco's budgetary advantage over everyone bar Celtic....I'm sure even total cunts like Alex Miller and Dingus could have them horsing dross like Hamilton (and yes us) week in week week out
  17. Bit of a jump going from managing a wifies team ( and let's not kid anyone.....wifies fitba' is horrendously bad, even at the "top" international level) to taking over the famous. He needs to go get experience ay a decent level before we could even mention him as a possible candidate. At his age.....that might be a bit of a stretch
  18. But also unlike sevco…..they do have an owner willing to put his hand into his own pocket when required. The word is that (via some creative accounting) it he who is personally funding Shankland's extraordinary...in Championship terms....contract. There was a thread about this very subject on swallow swallow last week. The lack of self awareness as they accused United of financial doping was both infuriating and hilarious in equal measure. As I say...United are taking a punt on getting themselves promoted. If it succeeds, the extra money they will make in the SPL will cover any short term losses. And they have Shankland on a decent length of contract to sell if anything goes wrong. The model works in the short term at least. I repeat....its exactly the model that sevco used only on a smaller scale.
  19. Taking a gamble on getting up this season. Probably will work. They'll sell Shankland at some point for £2million or so and wipe out any deficit. Just doing what sevco are doing but on a smaller scale
  20. I don't think that qualifying for Europe next season is a forlorn hope but that is more to do with the other sides being equally as shyte as we are rather than us being any good. Also believe that he is sackable. But it will take the team to go on a 5 or 6 match losing streak, fan protests at full time AND crowds dropping to below the 9k mark where we start to lose money week in/week out. Not sure we are close to that point yet sadly.
  21. Absolutely agree about no to O' Neill and yes to Mulumbu. Have to question why it has taken us so long to act though. Our absolute worst injury problems were a month ago. Seems bizarre to bring someone in now when most of our players are back and only Ojo and Wright will be out for any length of time. Downside is that it pretty much condemns Campbell to either a stint in the reserves or the odd bench appearance from now on (assuming one of them signs).
  22. Half time and a tanking it is. We are so horrendously bad we might actually manage to take the heat off Southampton. This is us back to Magoo and Brown levels of shitness
  23. Aye Hibs Hibsed it yet again. Had the match on a stolen stream.....they were chanting "Hecky out" at the end. Always quality entertainment when the Edinburgh sides make a cunt of things
  24. I actually think Livi might have a bit of a chance at beating one of those sides at home. Purely on the strength of their pitch being the worst in the whole of Scotland. Of course they would ship 6 or 7 minimum in the return leg in Italy. Celtic winning was probably the best result for us. It isn't usual that they would lose 2 in a row no matter who the opponents were. I think theyve picked up a couple of injuries as well. Still confident we can get at least a point on Sunday.
