  1. Had heard that his missus isn't overly keen on moving north. As I've said before...he's a bit of a lazy signing if it happens. Totally found out at international level. Logan has been so poor for the past 18 months that he probably is a bit of an upgrade but I'm convinced with some decent scouting we could find better in Scandinavia or Central/Eastern Europe.
  2. I said just after we played Burnley that McKenna would do well in that side. They currently have Ben Mee playing on the left side of their central defence. At just 6ft, he's a relative midget in central defensive terms down south and not particularly quick that would perhaps compensate for his lack of physicality. Now 30 as well. Would he supplant McKenna from the Scotland team? I really don't think so. I reckon McKenna would take his place down there within 6-8 weeks of joining up. As Tyrant says......let's see your money Burnley
  3. If they trialled in a league match you would have season ticket holders...especially ones in the Paddock who maybe have a couple of kids on child season tickets that specifically chose their seats for that very reason....moaning like fuck, either because their kids couldn't see or had been moved to another part of the ground to accommodate the trial. So makes sense all round to do it in the Cup. Might actually put another 500-1000 or so on the gate who ordinarily would just have given this one a miss
  4. Team are due to fly out to Dubai on Tuesday...McInnes is hopeful of having at least one new player by that time. However in light of Trump deciding to become the Terminator, there are some already advocating UK nationals get out of certain Middle Eastern countries sharpish as reprisals are expected. One of those countries being the UAE. Will we still go?
  5. Ryan Christie charged with grabbing Morelos in the nuts during the game the other day. Hearing on 6th January... HOWEVER...…. There are rumours now appearing (mainly from Celtic sources it has to be said so may be bullcrap) that Morelos may well have taken his revenge in the tunnel after the game. Christie certainly had to be admitted to hospital for emergency groin surgery yesterday and the Dhims are claiming that it is the result of getting a hefty boot in the nutts in the tunnel. They are saying this is why Fat Jabba has released the statement about VAR to get in first before the Christie story emerges. As I say...could be a pile of shyte but it's certainly a better story than any of the trash that's been on telly over the festive period
  6. The CH we are interested in is Declan Gallagher. I'd prefer Findlay myself if McKenna gets flogged. Dorrans would be one of the least inspiring signings ever.....I sincerely hope that the blue joot supporters have overdone the White Lightning and will come to their senses in a couple of days. O'Donnell would be a marginal upgrade on Logan. He got totally found out at international level. I've seen a number of folk saying that it's a done deal.....we will find out fairly soon I guess.
  7. McGinn didn't start against Hearts because McInnes said in the post-match interview that he had been struggling with a niggling injury and was only fit to play 60 minutes max
  8. Mcinnes said in post-match comments that McGinn had been carrying a slight injury and was only able to play for 60 minutes max so therefore didn't start. I'm more concerned about Hedges though. Yesterday's game should have been ideal for him yet once again he's benched and Gallagher gets yet another start.
  9. Read McInnes' post match comments. Not seeing that Vyner is definitely out for the season, just that it's his shoulder again and that although it only kept him out 3 weeks last time, he might need an op to properly fix it. An absolutely honking display today. Apart from 5 minutes at the start of the match and 5 minutes after the sending off, Hearts dominated us and even down to 10 men they threatened as much as we did. The DM tombola was working overtime pre-match and starting Campbell at left back was quite possibly his most bizarre selection to date. Looked totally lost and even when moved into midfield after about 25 minutes he still seemed confused as to what he was supposed to be doing. Anderson and Main were rank rotten but had no service at all from midfield. Gallagher....apart from getting the Hearts boy sent off was just typical Gallagher. The Hearts boy should just have let him go on through....chances are he would have found a way to fuck it up anyway. As it happens, results elsewhere have turned the shitshow into a relatively decent result, actually gaining ground on Well and putting further distance between us from Hibs and Killie. But a dreadful watch all round
  10. They've lost 5 on the bounce. They won't make it 6. I wish I could pinpoint why, even when they at total gowder, that we seem to struggle as much at their place so badly when we seem to do fairly well on a regular basis across the city at their local rivals. Especially as Hibs have been the better side in recent years. Motherwell snatching a victory in the dying seconds yesterday was a sickener. They've now got Hamilton at home next up and you would imagine that they would win it (although again....it's a fixture which does seem to throw up a fair number of what on paper look like shock results). We really cannot afford to be dropping 5 points behind 'Well but sadly it's exactly what I expect will be the outcome.
  11. Didn't take Hearts long to go one down in the Edinburgh derby I think the best result here would be a draw though. Keeps Hearts rooted firmly to the bottom....in the SPFL years apparently the club at the bottom of the table at Xmas has always been relegated.....and allows us hopefully to put further distance between ourselves and Hib And as I type Hibs go 2-0 up...……….oh dear
  12. I actually think Main will score. Possibly more than once. However my concern is I also think that Livi will score....also possibly more than once. Out 3-2 (Main x 2, Hedges)
  13. Agree re the Scotland job....he wasn't interested in playing for us so shouldn't be the manager ever. However at a club level? I think he might be a worthwhile punt. Yogi Hughes comes across as being barely literate but has made a decent fist of managing in Scotland. Same applies to the likes of John Robertson and Paul Hartley. Ferguson has all his coaching badges. He certainly got something out of an Everton team that was looking like relegation material against sides that their previous manager would certainly have gotten nothing from. He could well be worth taking a punt on as manager....up here the caravan dwellers would be an obvious destination should Neilson find himself a better job (or get punted a season or 2 down the line having found life in the top division a tad more difficult than it is in the Championship). But then again there's no doubting Ferguson's affinity for Everton and maybe he is happy to live his life as a coach on Merseyside with a club that he's probably got a job for life at if he chooses to stay as just a coach.
  14. Cosgrove was on red Tv just last week wit Logan doing a walkround of the new training facility. Specifically says that he now stays around at least an extra hour every day to do gym work after training now that the facilities allow it. Ferguson doesn't look overweight to me. McGinn...maybe but at his age he may well be limited as to how much training his body can take without risking the training itself causing injury. What you have to realise is that everyone's body is different. Hence why sprinters are shite long distance runners and vice versa. Or why shot putters are dreadful at high jump ( the obvious exceptions to the rule being the decathletes/heptathletes who are just natural all-rounders). And in football, a 6ft 3 centre half makes a horrendous winger and a 5ft 8 winger makes a uselessl centre half. But in all cases...they reach an optimal level of fitness required for their specific discipline. If they don't....they don't get picked.
  15. At QPR. He wasn't getting a game initially but seemed to start getting a game at least coming off the bench by late September. Haven't really continued to monitor his progress recently but wiki says he has 8 appearances in the league for them so I presume he must find himself back out the side again. Possibly injured but I've done enough research lol
  16. Leigh is just bad luck. No history of long term injuries. Bryson, however.....well signing an injured player who was nearing his 33rd birthday whilst still carrying an injury (and likely paying him wages that place him among our top 5 earners) was always a gamble. By the time we get him back it will likely be into March, maybe even April. It's been a disastrous signing tbh. Cosgrove still has 30 months left on his contract. So we can afford to turn down any offers from clubs purported to be interested if we think they're chancing their arm. In a team that frankly doesn't create a whole lot of chances, his scoring record is phenomenal. I don't think us asking £5million is unreasonable, given that his league goals tally is the same as that of both Defoe and son of Mattress...who play in a team that create probably 3-4 times the number of chances we do. I'd probably accept £4million reluctantly but certainly no less. And on the basis that we are given £1million of it to spend on a replacement and one other player (ideally a number 10).
  17. Hamilton treat the the game exactly as they should....as a free hit. With the gulf in resources they have with Celtic...they have written the game off before the season even starts as a zero pointer. They know it's games against the St Mirren's, St Johnstone's and Hearts ( ) that they need to take points in. If they lose 5-0 to Celtic....it's nothing more than anyone expects, so they just go out and give it a real go and see what happens, We are hampered by the expectation that as the country's 3rd biggest side, we should be able to land relatively frequent victories against Celtic. However financially the gap we have to Hamilton (we have roughly 3 times their budget) is much closer than it is than the gap we have with Celtic (they have roughly 6 times ours). Maybe we should just adopt the Hamilton attitude. Celtic have better players than us. They spend £7million on one player. We spend that total on players (at current rates) around every 20 years. They should beat us. But fuck me 28 shots on goal to 2 is plain embarrassing.
  18. 20 years ago Cosgrove would have been applauded for making a fantastic tackle. He got the ball first and had Ajer suffered a broken leg then that was just too bad. But it isn't 20 years ago. Whether folk agree with it or not....the laws have changed. He catches Ajer with his trailing leg on the shin. That's deemed reckless. And tbh the tackle was pointless in that are of the pitch. Especially coming steaming in at full speed. Was just inviting the ref to make a decision. Even if it had been at Pittodrie….a red card would still have been the correct decision though I suspect some refs are influence by the crowd. At Parkhead....there was no chance of the ref bottling it. Appealing it I fear will just be pouring cash down the toilet....as well as sending the player on a 300 mile round trip to Glasgow for no end result. It might get him into the Livi game as I don't think they'll hold a hearing before Boxing Day but I'd imagine they would hold one before the Hearts game. I'd rather have him available for that one.
  19. Had been coming too. Fucking awful goal to concede with so many defenders in our side
  20. I'd say it's more a sad reflection on us, although to be fair, the absolute horsings we get off the Dhims do tend to be in our home matches against them. Results at their ground are generally "respectable" defeats. But every year, the financial gulf between us and them grows wider. They SHOULD beat us with the attendant gulf in quality. What is unacceptable is just laying down and rolling over to them.
  21. I don't think Docherty would improve us any. And I'd also prefer us not to deal with the huns at all...….if we were to take a player off them, there's no doubt they'd come in with a bid for Ferguson in the summer and expect us to accept it such is their arrogance.
  22. Oh the comedy is usually worth the effort. Listening to barely literate troglodytes from both the cheeks attempting to sound educated but failing miserably and resorting to cheap sectarian barbs when their true nature eventually reveals itself is a far better hour spent than watching Emmerdale/Corrie/EastEnders.
  23. We will win it if she picks the correct time. RS is correct though. If the Tories give the go ahead for it in 2020 we will lose. Sturgeon needs to calm her spam for 3 or 4 years until the UK is out of the EU and suffering the consequences. That will be the right time
  24. I'm a member of the SNP (not an activist). The last thing you could accuse me of is falling for Tory propaganda. I remember when Brown waited a year too long to hold the election held in 2010 and cost Labour a victory. Now I forget which department it was but the Labour outgoing cabinet secretary of state left a note for the incoming Tory (it was a Tory not a LibDem) S.o.S on his desk saying "There's no money left" It's what Labour do historically. And now having made a cunt of the election the different factions within the party are virtually in civil war with each other. So I make no apologies for my interpretation and stand by every fucking word.
  25. The story I heard was that his wife was heavily pregnant and ready to drop. Snelders asked Aitken to miss 1, possibly 2 games at most so as he could be with her during the birth and Aitken had went apeshit. Instead of playing Watt for a game or two he told Snelders he would never play for the club again but wouldn't be difficult to deal with if he could get himself hooked up with another club. Oldco then came in with £300k which was a lot more than Aitken was expecting (Aitken assumed he would head back to Holland or Belgium) and the board accepted it on the basis that they were getting back what they paid for him.
