Summer 2023 Transfer Window Thread

Christ, I must be slipping up now that I've commenced my seventh decade as I started last summer's one back in mid March 2022 much to Rico's annoyance.

Anyway, here goes, the exact date the window will open has yet to be announced but will be at some point in early June meaning we are potentially only just over six weeks away.

If we thought last year's one was busy, then I think its fair to say there is going to be a fair old churn this summer as well.

Difficult to forecast too much at this point given amongst other minor things we don't actually know who'll be in charge next season, but lets not let that stop us speculating too much.

Rumours in the papers suggesting we're still after the lad from Go Ahead Eagles that we came close to signing in January.

There will be all the usual chat about who's leaving and how much we'll rake in in fees, so knock yourselves out and get them fired in here lads.

My thoughts exactly.  Imagine a wavering Teklic comes here just to quickly check Panda is happy before signing on the dotted line, hits the profile image page, thinks "but what if I put up a poor

  • Disgusting. I'll get back to you in May when this thread should be started.

  • Him and his mates are a bit old for the AberDNA Junior tour are they not?

Are Scales and Killian still in the equation? First line up,would you not swap Dadia(a bit slow apparently) for Devlin(to bomb up/down the right).

Thing is we don't know what Dadia has been signed as. A RB, a RWB, or to play right of a back three.

I tend to think if Robson gets all his signings in, that formation yesterday would be different. Teklic (I know he's not signing, I'm just picking a player he targeted) wouldn't have played RWB I don't think.

And, you may be right about getting Sokler, Miovski and Duk into the same team. Was never gonna happen yesterday because Miovski not fit enough for 90 minutes yet (and neither is Duk probably), but who knows. A 5-2-3 maybe.

Would rather that top than one we have.

Good luck to him, I'll always remember Connor fondly for his goal at fucking mordor to clinch it.

Makes sense for all parties.

Wish the loon well 👍

Little disappointed by the lack of activity given we’re just over a week until league starts. At the same time, good players will be in demand. Still think we’re missing at least one winger and a creative midfielder, any rumors other than scales and the Croatian defender??

Rumour I heard yesterday and has now been noted on the RTG pod is Rocco Vata (Celtic on loan). Striker but played wing a lot recently. Very highly thought of apparently.

also apparently chris Harvey was on the news yesterday saying Rubezic is just being held up by red tape. Anyone else see it?

If we were to take Vata on loan then that means the only way Scales comes back this season is on a permanent deal

P.S Big welcome to Rubezic

We defo need to add a wee bit more depth but it's worth remembering we aren't even half way through the window.

No more loans from either of the weegie bigots. Even if a player who played in the Lowland League last season is good enough for our first team we should still be giving game time to our own young players instead.

A loan from the Old Firm is fine if there's a chance it might be made into a permanent deal, and he improves the team.

Ryan Christie did a (mostly) fine job and we tried to sign him, we were scuppered at the 11th hour I believe.

Liam Scales post-Goodwin was a big part in us reaching Europe and there's a chance he might sign if we can agree a price with Celtic.

Adam Montgomery was a bit shit. But had he been good we probably would have tried to sign him.

Rocco Vata - apparently a cracking player. I'd rather have him than Shayden Morris. Think the rumour has already been rubbished though.

Davey Cormack here suggesting we're "very, very close" to signing two defenders with 2/3 more players targeted too.

Inside Futbol suggesting Hellas Verona are preparing a bid of €1M for Ramadani, but the player would prefer to move to Lecce despite their offer being less. Hes been a decent player for us over the year, but if he is determined to go then we should only accept the higher offer

No. I disagree.

Much as I'd like us to get the biggest offer, we can sell us better to prospective players (and hopefully very good players) by not seeing to be difficult to deal with when they want to move on.

Good stuff, keep the pant wetters(elsewhere) quiet.......for a few hours.Hoping the other signing Cormack hinted at is left sided

Welcome to the Dons min

Looking forward to seeing what this guy can do. His stats compared to scales are generally favourable. Welcome aboard Slobodan!

€230k fee being mentioned.

Ramadani to Italy: He has his moments but I've always felt if we want to go up a level he's one player we need to improve on.

If Barron can rediscover his form pre-injury then I think he can go on to be a better player. I think one thing we'll see with Robson is a few players improving after the clusterfuck that was the Goodwin era.

Polvara will likely be given another chance too since he's unlikely to play in defence once Rubezic, Williams and McDonald all fit.

Plus, chances are we'll sign another midfielder anyway. So cheers Rama for helping Miovski settle in Aberdeen, and cheers for the transfer fee, enjoy Italy, I hear it's nice there.

He's that scary looking that even if he's a donkey I'll be praising him every week on here for fear of reprisals.

I think Rama is like willo flood, had his fans but also some didn’t rate him. I think rama does a job for us, we’ve just struggled for flair, creativity, and width and he does more than he should. Will be tough to replace.

Apologies for the source but Johnny Hayes massively talking up polvara in the record here panda.  Sounds like he's going to get game time whether rama stays or goes 2bh.

If Rama is to go he goes with my best wishes. He wouldn't be impossible to replace but he won't be that easy either.   He's a very solid player at this level and seemed a good influence on the squad in general.  My preference would be to keep him because we have more than enough of a turnover of squad this window as it is.
