DonsTalk Community Guidelines

Welcome to DonsTalk (https:www.donstalk.co.uk), the independent community forum for Aberdeen Football Club supporters.

Our goal is to provide a vibrant, engaging, and safe space for fans to discuss the Dons, Scottish football, and everything in between. By reigstering an account and using this forum, you agree to abide by these Site Guidelines, which are designed to protect our community and ensure compliance with UK data protection and online safety laws.

Community Standards and Code of Conduct

We encourage passionate debate, banter, and differing opinions, but we insist on mutual respect.

No Hate Speech or Discrimination: We have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination. Postings that include racism, sectarianism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or discrimination based on disability or religion will result in an immediate suspension.

  • No Harassment or Bullying: Do not target, stalk, or harass other members, players, staff or public figures. Direct personal atacks and abusive language are strictly prohibited.

  • Keep in Clean and Legal: Do not post content that is defamatory, obscene, unlawful, or harmful. Sharing links to illegal live match streams, pirated material, or copyright-infringing content is strictly forbidden.

  • No Spam or Self-Promotion: Do not use the forum for unauthorised commercial advertising, spamming or mass private messaging (PMs).

Privacy, Safety and UK GDPR Compliance

Your privacy is paramount. In accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we enforce strict rules regarding personal data:

  • Protect Your Own Privacy: Do not post your own sensitive personal information (such as phone numbers, home addresses, or financial details) on public boards.

  • Respect the Privacy of Others (No Doxxing): You must not post private or identifying information about antother individual (including fellow posters, club staff, or players) without their explicit consent. This includes real names, social media profiles, places of work, or private correspondence (e.g. screenshots of private messages or emails).

  • Your Data Rights: As a UK user, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your personal data.

  • Account Deletion: If you wish to close your account and remove your personal data, you can contact the administration team. Please note that while your profile and personal identifiers will be deleted or anonymised, your public forum posts may remain intact to preserve the continuity of discussion threads, stripped of your identity.

  • Minors and Safeguarding: This forum is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, we strongly advise against sharing identifying details. We take online safety seriously and will cooperate with relevant authorities if any safeguarding issues arise.

Moderation and Enforcement

To maintain a high-quality discussion space, the DonsTalk administration and moderation team reserve the right to monitor and manage the platform.

  • Moderator Discretion: Moderators have the final sya in interpreting and enforcing these rules. They reserve the right to edit, move, lock or delete any post or thread that violates these guidelines.

  • Reporting System: If you spot a post that violates these guidelines, please use the "Report Post" function rather than engaging or escalating the argument.

  • Sanctions: Violations of these rules will be handled objectively. Depending on the severity and frequency of the offence, actions may include:

    1. A formal warning

    2. Temporary restriction of posting privileges (e.g. read-only mode)

    3. Temporary account suspension

    4. Permanent ban and account termination
