  1. I would like to see us start with the same line up from last Saturday and have a go at them. Possibly some some sort of game management pish on the go though as we are away from home. 2-2 - Cosgrove & Main
  2. Yes, two very good wins. Pains me to say it, but I thought Celtic were very good when they were up here the other week, fair enough we were gash, but they were head and shoulders above us on the pitch and in the second half they just toyed with us. They are beatable of course, but to do so needs them having an off day and any other team in the league playing to their best in every area. Stewart Milne will be happy with these results though
  3. So really football is going the same way as society itself, in developing class sytems to aspire too, with those at the top not wanting to give way to those under them. If Cormack is going to take in American investors that will come at a price and our game will change in ways that will be almost unrecognisable to what we currently know, some of which will be good and some will be alien to most of us. I suppose we will just have to see what happens, but I do reckon if Cormack comes in above Milne it could spell the end of DM.
  4. I've heard Milne has wanted out for years, but no acceptable offer has been made. I'm not so sure on Cormack, something doesn't quite sit well with me about him. I would love to see how we are ever going to compete with the cheeks under the set up we currently have in Scotland with everything geared towards supporting a stong and stable Rangers and Celtic, with their financial clout being in far in excess of ours and Celtic being even further in front of everyone. Youth is the future for us and it hasn't really worked out on that front under DM in his near 7 year tenure. OK he has signed Ferguson and Cosgrove who I think would be worth decent money (for us) if we were to sell, but nobody else has set the world on fire on the youth front which and it will be harder to find young talent in future due to the way the big clubs around the world have scounts everywhere looking for exactly the same thing. Maybe Cormack and any potential investors will change the whole attitude of the club for the better and demand more from our managers and not see finishing third as KPI for whoever is in charge of the team at that time.
  5. Well said Rico. We are in the situation that our Chairman and a few others always wanted and they will be happy to see us spanked by the OF on a regular basis with the return of Helicopter Sundays being one that will see Milne and Co crack one off in the boardroom with exitement. If we can beat most team below us, which we will most weeks, bar the usual blips and stay comfortable in the top 6 and get Euro qualifiers most years then McInnes has a job for life, another trophy win will get him the keys to the City. I want to see McInnes gone, but really what for as we won't replace him with anyone with the balls to have a real go at the OF and break their dominance, it will just be more of the same at best or another few years trawling the bottom of the league. The whole set up of our game is a mess.
  6. JUst drove past it on my way to work and it is miserable outside weather wise, really poor they didn't build a cattle shed with an indoor pitch but to fuck with spending £3 million on a facility to produce the next generation Darren Mackie. Maybe we could get DIY SOS to come around and build us something with the help of local dandies in the building trade. Write them a letter telling them we need them to get Gleeson fit again, one look of him in his current shape and we may well just get away with it on the sympathy vote.
  7. Went past it yesterday, but becasue of the game I didn't have the time, but looking forward to seeing what they have done. Seemed the re-opening was a bit of a washout yesterday due to the rain, certainly not people queuing, but hope they got a good turnout. I did notice yesterday they were searching peoples bags before gaining entry and which I'm not a fan of. I actually think the V&A building in Dundee looks great, haven't went in as didn't like the V&A in London, but it looks great in my opinion anyway.
  8. Do you say that to all the boys? I just had another look at my post and not anything suggested I had workings, but because it is my job, a rough calulation for me would be roughly £300k for a basic breezeblock construction done whilst the groundworks was being done at the site, maybe more depending on the type of roof that was put on, but not anything like £1million.
  9. I made the same quote about Scottish football to my Sons last night when I heard the Celtic score. They are miles in front of us financially, but feels like we have all gave up competing against them at every level and I don't just mean Aberdeen. You are left wondering how long we can bother watching this as there is no competition. We would be better off watching football in the lower leagues as at least they have something to play for.
  10. I could see how the Killie manager wants them to play, but they lack the quality to do it. Yes they have a couple of tidy players, but also a fair bit of dross. The opening goal for us knocked their game plan out as they had to change their set up and our second knocked the stuffing out of them. That said the stop by Joe not long after we went 1 up was a big help to us and shows the value once again of having a first class goalie.
  11. Well it's true enough, the new training ground has made a difference. Crossing the Mounthooly roundabout and heard Main was starting and was going to turn around and go home, but I didn't and to be fair he had a good game and he did offer us something, he also chases lost causes and seems more mobile than big Sam, who we lost in the second half to injury. Main took his goal very well and it was a great cross from Ferguson, the second one I am sure Main fouled the Keeper, but it was given as Sams. At this point Killie stepped up a gear, but lacked quality, although it took a great save from our Mr Dependable in goal to stop them from scoring and they huffed and puffed, but they never did look like scoring, even though Joe made two further saves. Burke is a greeting faced hun cunt though. We certainly went into to game management mode, but was good to see us get that third, which maybe flattered us a little, but we deserved the win. I thought Main had scored us a second, but it smashed off the post to safety. I have to say I was pissed off to see Considine come on near the end when he didn't need to, could have gave Anderson some game time up front or Campbell. I've said before I still see Ferguson as an attacking midfielder and not a defensive one, he looks far more comfortable attacking than he does defending. Main was my MOTM and I though Vyner had a great game also and Joe as is usual always pulls off a great save when we need it. Edit: Just watched the highlights and it was Sam who rattled the post with the shot not Main.
  12. I suspect it was all down to doing things on the cheap, I doubt it would have taken a million to do it, I would imagine around £300k, I think the objection is to the stadium and I cannot blame them as a stupid place to have it, but I'm happy we have the training facility, but just seems another lack of vision from Milne, you either do these things properly or you don't bother.
  13. Looking at the photos it is clear the weather will be shit out at Westhill in the Winter months and have been surprised we didn't build an indoor training pitch at the site. I dont think a breeze block structure around one of the pitches would have cost that much and appears to be short sited. Milnes speach was awful. Bad enough him being Chairman, but does he really have to speak. He clearly hates us fans. For the record the training facility should have been named Teddy Scott Park in my opinion as our greatest ever club servant.
  14. A 1-0 win against the Accies and now we are world beaters. Not getting the optimism for this even though we can win it, I just can't trust our bearded leader. Since my Wife and life are so shit I am dragging my arse along to this, would have if I didn't have an ST, but eldest is chucking it if we are beat today, he has had enough. Think we will get a win, but not seeing a great game in it, but it's not about being entertained it's all about winning and celebrating our best manager since Fergie as us great unwashed know nothing about football. 2-1us Cosgrove x2
  15. I amended my post as I should have said the later part of his Dons career as we well know he had some cracking players around him when he broke through.
  16. Leighton was the only surprise for me, but you cannot argue with his service to the club and he was an excellent keeper for us. Jess is deserving for his talent, a sublime player, possibly the most talented player I have ever seen come through the ranks and who had the misfortune to be around for some of the worst players in AFC history in the later part of his Dons career.
  17. So we beat Hamilton, doesn't make amends for Sundays performance and that perma tanned, bearded walloper better not come out and say that it does.
  18. Good luck to anyone who braves the game tomorrow night. No doubt we will get a win and all will be right in the world once again, but will take me a bit longer than usual to get over Sunday and struggling to motivate myself to take any interest tomorrow night.
  19. ANyone who witnessed that car crash of a performance on Sunday has the right to be pissed off, seriously pissed off. I know for one I still am. I can take a defeat anytime, but the manner of Sundays performance was frightening. ANyone who says otherwise or tries to defend it must be taking the piss or are employed by the club. I remember the really bad old days well, but what I saw on Sunday was as bad as anything we saw in the really bad years and this is under a manager that is supposed to be our messiah. A lad I work with said today getting rid of McInnes is a bad idea because of what we had before him and with that I fear we have one person who is bigger than the club if that is the mindset of our support. We have a manager who looks like he doesn't want to be here anymore and I am afraid that if some action is not taken soon we may find ourselves back in yearly relegation battles and celebrating a top 6 finish as an achievement.
  20. I think it will be others on the board who will get rid of McInnes, not Milne and really only hope it is VERY soon. Any goodwill he had from his first couple of years at the club is very quickly ebbing away and only folk who harp on about about where we were before him want to stick with him, not able to see we are heading back towards the same place, the same people who still think getting rid of Calderwood was a mistake He really should have left us at the end of the 2017 season, as I would say he peaked with us at that point. Something has to give, or the Kingswells vanity project could well end up being as big a white elephant as the one they built at Darlington.
  21. There were no highlights, none, zero, zilch. A horror show from start to finish best staying well clear of. The only thing I took from the game was the comedic value of watching our players try and play football. 8 hours after the final whistle and I am still seething at what I witnessed today. I even apologised to my two sons for bringing them up as Aberdeen supporters.
  22. Just back from the horrow show, have we ever played so poorly against any team? That was as bad a performance as anything witnessed during our real barren years. Not anything positive to take away from today whatsoever, Celtic deserved their points and the second half was just a training game exercise for them and if they wanted could have raised the tempo at any point and knocked in a few more. For a team that were marginally ahead of us under Delia they are now light years ahead of us, I know they have money to spend on players and can pay more in wages, but fuck after nealy 7 years in the job McInnes isn't going to leave us with any sort of footballing legacy, the squad of players is average at best with few exceptions and our youth development isn't really bringing through anyone of real quality who can come in to the first team and make a difference, that said signing shite like Gallagher on loan isn't really going to help any of our young loons prospects, coupled with manager whose tactical nous is always to know best and never learning from his many mistakes, I mean does he really think Considine at left back will do anything other than fuck up when playing Celtic and he didn't have to play him there today. Also, though no bearing on the result in any way, Beaton the ref was really shocking today.
  23. We must be due a result against them so why not Sunday. 3-2 us Sam, Hedges and a Wilson screamer with the last minute of the game. I just hope we give our all and try and play football and forget about the usual containment which never works.
  24. [quote Smaller than usual Dons support in Motherwell, but hopefully a few more performances like this will get the fans back on side. I thought the same and you know things are bad if our away numbers drop as usually quite consistant. Couldn't believe i was watching Aberdeen in the highlights as was like night and day with our previous performances this season. I think Ferguson not being involved played a big part as that is a lad who needed dropping and it took a red card to get him out of the team, bad management from DM for me. No other young player has had the game time of Ferguson and I am worried he strolls straight back in. Ferguson aside, it was a great team performance and we looked up for it. The three goals were all superb, but the finish from Sam was sublime and I for one never thought he had that in him. Maybe there is a player in him if used correctly, but if he keeps scoring some English non entity will bid for him in January. I am a tad more enthused for this coming Sunday after Saturday but under no illusions it will be a hard game and just hope DM doesn't adopt his usual shit the bed tactics for it.
