  1. Sadly our leader likes a big guy with muscle to run about the final third so we will be stuck with Main for this season at least and hope we don't lose Sam. It would be good to see Anderson and Wilson get a run out together up front, but our manager doesn't really like change in the final third and however bad our games are to watch we are mainly picking up points so entertainment doesn't come into it. We are a poor footballing side.
  2. Wasn't as bad a game as I initially feared, but nothing to write home about either. Two decent goals won us the games and that was about it. Logan at LB and Vyner at RB, Logan played OK, but stuggled initially. Taylor made some horror passes out from defence today and it was like he had never left us watching him. McLennan always looks as though his brain is 5 seconds behind his feet, but he took his goal well, buy young Anderson served us up a Brucie bonus with a superbly taken goal and we should either be giving the loon a chance or getting him out on loan to get some game time as I think he is worth a gamble, but he would stuggle playing the way DM would want him to play as he is all about scoring goals. McGinn stuggled for the 90 minutes and was sloppy in possession as the game went on, but I reckon he only stayed on as Ojo went off injured, possibly just a precaution to ensure no further lengthy absence. You can see why Livi do so well, they battle hard for 90 minutes and despite a lack of quality in the final third they did OK. If we were to sell Sam for good money I would happily take a chance on the boy Dykes to take on Sams role and I also liked their number 33 on the wing, showed a great deal of skill. Another 3 points and two goals scored by home grown players, but we weren't great by any means.
  3. So Cormack shows more backbone in less than two weeks in the job than the baldy builder did in more than 20 years. Maybe things will be different now.
  4. Never a red card and was actually a great tackle, but cannot say surprised with decision. Would have been good gto hear DM or the club stick the boot into the SFA afterwards, but never going to happen. Our game stinks.
  5. Going along, but not looking forward to it. Livi are a decent enough side and battle for everything so will be tough. Expecting a terrible game, but an Aberdeen win. Boxing day games are usually shyte, even more so if we manage a large crowd. 4-3 - A Wilson hat trick and a Main effort to seal the points. COYR
  6. He did the same with Stewart, played him on the wing when everyone could see he hasn't got the pace to be a winger, the same manager even played Adam Rooney on the wing in the later part of his Aberdeen career, which was a poor end to a player who did so much for us in his first few seasons. Wilson could bring something to a team and he is possibly the most talented player in our squad, but just don't think it will work out for him under DM. As Rico says he needs to be played in the right postion, but our manager prefers square pegs in round holes. I'll be amazed if he hangs around after this season.
  7. We go into the game with no pressure on us as we know we will get a spanking, not saying it is right, but with sod all to lose we may just turn in a performance, unless DM tries to pull off some more tactical masterstrokes which gives their players the freedom of the park. They toyed with us up here a few weeks ago and if we were to repeat that performance they will give us a doing. 2-1 Cosgrove x2 - It's the supposed season of miracles.
  8. No surprise to anyone, but DM has confirmed that Gleeson will be away in January and would have been away in the summer if not for the injury he picked up. A very bad signing for us and I would imagine that both he a Forrester combined must have cost us a fair bit of our budgets. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/donsnews/gleeson-set-to-exit-pittodrie/
  9. Well that was another 90 wasted minutes of my life. We started with Ojo, which was a surprise to me, but who had a good first half and we looked a more balanced side with Ferguson playing in a more forward role and Ojo sitting just in from on the defence. SHould have went in at least one up at the break, but a couple of decent stops from their keeper kept them out, we did play some neater football in the first half and we lost Leigh to injury just on half time who was repleaced by Considine. Second half saw us swap Gallagher for Ojo in what I can only suppose was to offer us more of an attacking threat and we duly got the goal from big Sam, but then we resorted to the usual game management shyte and if Accies weren't such a poor team they possibly would have had an equaliser. We were pretty honking in the second half, bar scoring a goal which won us the game the only other thing of note that happened was James Wilson getting a very sore one in the balls. A very poor game and if I was Mr Cormack I would be wondering how we are going to get the crowds back when we play such shyte football. Yes we won and kept a clean sheet, but you would expect a manager with near 7 service to be offering up a better product than what we are currently getting. I'll give MOTM to all of us who stayed until the end to watch that shyte. I need to be stronger in getting myself to stop going to these games I know full well are going to be a shyte.
  10. I expected Boris to get his majority, but not quite the number he ended up with. A very sad night and yet again we Scots have voted against a party who will still govern us. It is a tragic situation and I hope to fuck we at least get another chance of an Independence referendum. Two guys I work with would now vote to leave after yesterdays election. I think there will be plenty others and I would hope people don't believe the lies they gave us in 2014. The one plus was seeing Swinson lose her seat and then resign. If anyone person was ever so unsuitable as a party leader then Jo Swinson was that person.
  11. Allan would never fit into to a McInnes side, as he doesn't do enough of the hard graft that McInnes wants from his attacking players.
  12. Watched the highlights last night, if you can call them that and have to say that was some pass from the boy Allan for their opener. Have to say after seeing the goals they did exactly the same to us on Saturday as they did up here, but more clinical in front of the goal on this occassion. Poor from us again though.
  13. I can't say I'm surprised at the result today, as when they were up here a few months ago and in my opinion they tore us a new one and if it wasn't for Doige being pish when through 1 on 1 that day with the keeper they would have won the game comfortably. They as a team pass the ball around well and have some good attacking players, but are weak at the back and we didn't try and exploit that today. We are so predictable it is scary and most people can see it bar our own manager, it is like he is watching a different team from the rest of us. Our poor recruitment over the past few windows is really biting us on the arse now, our squad is very unbalanced and full of very average players.
  14. Well we snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat, but we were awul for the first 30 minutes. It's amazing how the team plays better when we have a go at teams. Rangers are a decent enough team who are well organised and have players who play in their correct positions, which usually makes a difference, but we showed last night they are far from unbeatable. Menatality plays a huge part in getting anything of the Glasgow two, but we didn't show the right menatality until we were two down. I hope we can sign a decent midielder in the window as our midfield is a huge problem for us with neither Ojo or Bryson fit and Gleeson clearly out of the picture and Campbell just doesn't seem ready at the moment and would benefit from a loan spell in the Championship. Ever since he was out due to suspension I think Ferguson has looked very good for us and was one of our better performers again last night.
  15. If the same line up & formation like we did on Saturday and they will tear us a new one, but struggling to see any real changes we can make that will make that big a difference. My biggest worry is how many defenders he will start off with, I think he may put Considine in at LB, Logan and RB, Devlin and McKenna in the centre with Leigh and Veyner in midfield alongside Ferguson, unless Bryson is fit which might change the line up. Despite winning on Saturday St Mirren played quite well and passed the ball about neatly, if Rangers play the same way it could get bad. Be horrible to take a doing off them, just please let us make an attempt to win it. My heart says 2-1 us, with Sam and Hedges scoring and I cannot even write the words what my head is thinking.
  16. We made that tougher than needed. St Mirren had a chance very early doors, but then after it was all us and we scored then should have had at leat one other before St Mirren equalised and after which we laboured away, getting the second goal through good work from Hedges and a good finish from McGinn. Tactical tombola was out today again and if we line up with a back three against the zombies then I seriously hope Cormack makes his first big decision and gets rid of him. I thought today was the type of game where Main would have done well up front with Cosgrove, as St Mirren defence wouldn't have handled his direct up and at them style. I was never a big fan of Sam, but the boy is a different player from the one we signed near two years ago and wouldn't be surprised if there are bids for him in the summer. A good finish from him today from the opener, possibly should have had another, but he is certainly on fire at the moment. Gallagher I just don't see the point of. If Rico doesn't think Campbell is ready yet, then fuck knows what Gallagher is as I just don't see a footballer in him, yes he allegedly has pace, but we should be looking for better players than that and will not improve with guys like that in our squad, let alone the team and hope he is not a sign of things to come. Edit - Forgot to say a big well done to Joe for the double save at the penalty. He is the one class player in our team.
  17. We're in for tomorrow. Looking forward to a good win, but think St Mirren will be well up for it and give us a tough game, we should be OK if we attack as they do look suspect at the back. Gash for Devlin, decent enough shout. Gash was fine enough for us first time around, no idea why we resigned him though, but that's not for this thread, but I reckon he will stick with Devlin and McKenna though and sadly Considine at LB with Leigh in midfield, unless Vyner is back for this one?? 3-1 Considine, Sam and Hedges.
  18. I usually pass it around 4:40 each day and there are groups of kids out playing on it, possibly something to do with the coaching sessions they put on for kids??
  19. 500 games for us is a fair milestone to hit and whilst I don't mind the guy at all, but should he in all honesty reached 500 games? No point going over it as we have our opinions on him, but fair play to him anyway. I'm more worried about any vomit inducing interviews he may give about Milne stepping down as Chairman and all the good he did for the club.
  20. With all the potential excitement of yesterdays news we had better get on with the proper football side of things. Expecting a good win tomorrow with the players looking to impress the new regime in charge at the club. 3-1 to us Sam, Hedges and Considine to score on his 500th game for the club.
  21. I heard this news from a guy I know this afternoon, who is pals with Joe Lewis, he also claims that the stadium is not happening and that they want to keep Pittodrie and plan to redevelop it. The stadium part sounds too good to be true, but it does appear that Cormack is going to be the main man with some sort of backers on board with him, one very rich one at that. I think we are just going to have to embrace this and hope that it kick starts some sort of progress for the club on the football pitch as at the moment it is pretty pointless watching us as we have no ambition to progress beyond a third place finish at best and we know our current Chairman is happy with this, which makes you wonder what the point of our existince is now. If it goes tits up at a later date then fair enough, but we need something to change and hopefully this will be it.
  22. Big Sam has signed a new contract, that is what I suspect it will be. Don't think it will be Milne. I believe he will sneak away quietly like the snake he is when he does eventually go, which really cannot be far away.
  23. At centre half I don't think Considine is that bad a player and don't see him as any worse at centre half than Devlin or McKenna. I would say for the vast majority of his near 500 games he has hardly let us down in the grand scheme of things. Playing at LB is not his fault, that is where the managers played him a lot of the time and against lesser teams he does fine, put a bit of pace against him and we are screwed, but that is a management failing, fair enough as a stop gap and injuries dictate, but otherwise poor management. We have had a lot of shyte playing for us over the years, but for me Considine, at centre half, is not near that list.
  24. I caught the highlights last night and another decent victory and three good goals scored by us and a few other chances missed as well. Just a pity the international break will kill our current momentum.
  25. Was in today for a quick look around as didn't have a great deal of time and have to say I thought they have done a good job of the upgrade. Seems to be a lot more spacious and not so many paintings squashed on to one wall like they used to be. They have a new Lowry, which was given to the Gallery by the Government who received it in liue of taxes from someone. Lowry is my favourite, I know not everyone likes him and some don't even regard him as an artist as his style is too simple for them, but I just like his work and enjoy seeing different things everytime you look at them, for me the sign of good art. I had a walk out into the viewing platform in the top floor, which give you a great view over Belmont street, one of my favourite areas of the city, but that new flats they have just built across the road are an eyesore and not in keeping with what is around it. Will try and get back soon to spend a bit more time looking.
