  1. I've thought the same for a while now. I think he wanted the Hun job when it came and was probably shocked when it all went wrong, but he knows he is a busted flush in football and that a bigger job will never come his way. All he is doing is feathering his nest knowing that when he does leave us he will probably just retire from the game. There is only so long an average manager can last at a club like ours and have a degree of success, he would have been better off leaving at the end of the 2016/2017 season, I think his stock would have been high at that point. Having far too cosy a relationship with the clown Milne doesn't help matters much either.
  2. I'm glad this is an away fixture so I am not obliged to go, which I would have done if a home match, but not seeing anything other than a shit game of football, with the team with the most luck sneaking through. Be great to be proved wrong though.
  3. St Johnstone were very quick on the counter and caught us out a few times when we tried to push up and get the second goal. There was a couple of time Cosgrove was back in his own half trying to get the ball which really shouldn't be the case. Badly lacking a Shinnie in the middle of the park to spur us on and grab the game by the scruff of the neck, lacking a leader big time.
  4. Kenny McLean got the opener for Norwich in a 3-1 win over City. The loon has done well for himself down the road in a more forward role, which makes you wonder why McInnes spent two seasons using him as a defensive midfielder.
  5. There was certainly protests after the game wanting Levein and the Board sacked. I don't think the HIVs are any better either, they are getting very vitriolic towards Heckinbottom by all accounts, next weeks Edinburgh derby could be interesting.
  6. Well that was pish. A miserable day today and not helped much by what I saw at Pittodrie this afternoon. We were comfortable on the whole until they equalised and come the second half we were utter shyte. I would say a draw was fair, but the Saints will have went don the road knowing they should have had the three points. Good to see the ref speaking to the linesman and changing his mind about the penalty he awarded them, it wasn't a pen, but we were lucky minutes before though when Ferguson pushed over one of their players just inside the box, he does far too much of that sleekit shite for my liking and for me has been the weak link in our midfield for a while now. I really cannot believe how much game time the loon gets when we have other players who don't get a sniff of action. The subs were not great, Gallagher didn't improve anything when he came on and McLennan was just McLennan, never a wide player, then Wilson appears for his end of game cameo out on the wing. Cosgrove just isn't good enough at this level, yes I know his goal record looks good, but I find his all round play is shocking, strange that we haven't seen Main yet, although when doing his half time warm up he looked to be carrying a bit of timber on him. Lewis is least of our concerns, yes he will make howlers like any goalie will during the course of a season, but he saves us more points than he loses us over a season, don't think I would have him as captain, but then I don't really think there is anyone else capable of it either, I suspect he is keeping the armband warm for Shinnie heading back up the road in January. from the Merkland end it looked as though it bobbled over him. Apparently Bryson is out injured again and we also lost Ojo with a knock, so all in all a shit day.
  7. A real shame for the loon, will possibly be the final nail in his Aberdeen career regardless if he comes back from it or not. Wish him all the best anyway.
  8. The return of proper fitba and no more international pish for a few weeks. Who knows what kind of game it will be, but likely not one for the purists. 2-1 us, you just know May will score against us. I would be glad to see the same team that started against Ross County.
  9. Well I enjoyed that today, went more in hope than expectation and when I saw the storm clouds over Pittodrie when walking up King Street I really did fear the worst, but when I saw the line up I was a bit more optimistic and predicted to my loons we would get 4 today. Thought Hedges looked a player today, was impressed with him and both our full backs. Bryson did well enough, but you could see he needs game time. I also thought Ferguson had a better game today playing further forward, but his constant dropping to the ground is a bit frustrating to watch and still feel he needs taken out the first team for a spell for his own development. County were rough and I think they have players who are better than that, but got what they deserved, sweet FA. Three goals, three points and a clean sheet and got back home happier than what I was when I left. Edit: I forgot to add how great it was seeing Hedges leave Foster for dead at the corner flag in the second half, being the odious little cunt that he is made it even more sweeter.
  10. Do you not even think Teddy Scott is deserving of something like a training pitch named after him?? In my opinion he deserves more than a pitch named after him, I would like to have seen his name used for the whole training complex. He was more than an employee, he loved our club and gave his working life to it and it wasn't always a bed of roses for him. Willie Miller our greatest ever captain was more than just an employee. I doubt we would have been as successful back in the 80s without him leading the team. These guys that are mentioned are mainly people who were far more than just employees of a business.
  11. Although he was no right back, McArdle wasn't a bad centre half, would he be a step up from anyone we currently have? I would say yes, but fine margins and all that. Best not sign any players from days gone by as never usually works out.
  12. I have many gripes against McInnes, but I do think he is close to the players and I doubt there is a dressing room revolt. That said maybe DM has just been caught with Big Ash's Mrs again.
  13. I have a feeling we will win tonight and go through. I'm going for a 3-0 win for us tonight.
  14. At home games at least you don't hear 'One Derek McInnes' being sung much now and if it is it is very low key. From what I see and hear I think most people are fed up of what is happening with the team over say the last 18 months. I am also led to believe that Season Ticket sales have dropped a good deal this season and also the renewal of the DNS thing has plummeted also, make of that what you will. I renewed my ST, but I admit to not looking forward to this season and not even bothering going on Thursday night.
  15. I thought St Mirren were easily one of the poorest top league teams I had ever seen over the years at the start of last season, but thought they were far better by the end of the season and can only imagine Goodwin will have them well organised and difficult to beat, but we should easily have enough to beat them, if we attack them instead of fucking about. Main starts today and Logan is dropped, be interesting to see how we get on, but I can only see us winning. 0-3 - Main hat trick.
  16. You could see Hedges loved scoring that goal, I know it cost him a yellow card, but was great to see him celebrating with the fans. From the Merkie I thought it was Anderson that scored the winner, in fact all of us around where I sit did. A great finish from a great bit of play from the LB.
  17. I enjoyed that last 25 minutes, but we should have never let that hammer throwing cunts back into it in the manner we did. The new signings are looking good so far, my first viewing of Leigh at LB and thought he did very well against a VERY physical Hearts side, but all the newbies contributed something. I did think Ferguson was our weak link today and am hoping that when Bryson is fit he gets dropped to the bench for some time out as think he would benefit from it. Liked the look of Ojo who should only get better once up to speed with speed of the Scottish game and big Sam really impressed me today and I have been very critical of him in the past, but thought he did an excellent job for us today and his first goal was impressive. Hearts are awful, you know they are going to be physical, but jeez it makes your eyes bleed watching them and they do have some good players in that team who are capable of far better. A horrible club with horrible supporters. A great bounce when that 3rd went in and just so glad we got the points. A lot more optimistic about the coming season than I was this time last week.
  18. LOoking forward to tomorrow now after the good win on Thursday night, but you know they are going to kick us all over the shop and kill off the entertainment value. 3-0 to us, Sam, Hedges and McGinn.
  19. I thought McKenna started last season fairly poorly, but thought he was excellent by the end, he is probably not being helped by having the consistency of a regular decent partner at the back and also we were shite last season for the most part and recruited badly last summer which didn't help him either. We have a good player and he is certainly our biggest asset at he moment, but selling him would be a massive loss for the team and not confident our manager would find anyone of the quality of McKenna to replace him with, that said I don't think he is good enough for the EPL, possibly bottom end EPL/top end Championship would be about his level, but paired beside another decent defender and who knows. I thought Kenny McLean would bomb at Norwich, but has happily proved me wrong, maybe Scotty can do the same and wouldn't put it past him as he has a great attitude and I enjoy seeing him in the Aberdeen shirt
  20. A decent enough game to watch, we played some good stuff at times and should have scored way more than two, but their keeper had a decent evening. I liked the look of the new guys, thought Gallagher had pace to burn, Hedges looks like he may need a little time before we see the best of him, but he does look like he has ability, but will hold off until I have seen them over a few games. I think me missed a bit of experience in the middle of the park, Ferguson was like a headless chicken at times and showed we need another CM in as it looks like Gleeson is out the door. Disappointing to lose the goal and they will be well up for for the return leg with that late goal, but they should have been out of the match long before the 90 minute mark. That Piper before the game started was fecking awful.
  21. I'm in for this one too as the youngest asked to go along, but not looking forward to it which is unusual for me first game of the season. I haven't got a clue what the starting line up will be, well defence should be all but sorted, but middle of the park may well be a tombola job. 4-0 Curtis Main x 4
  22. Dom Ball signs for QPR. Fair play to the guy that is a decent enough sized club to be joining, but I didn't expect a player who couldn't get a game for Rotherham in the Championship to be signing for another Championship club, even more so a club who I would say are bigger with greater expectations. Good luck to him.
  23. There may well have been issues with Wilson last season that we never saw the best of him. I would imagine that we were not the only club to offer him something and he will be on nothing like his Man Ure salary, so he must like it up here and see it as a chance to get his career back on track. From a skill and technique point of view he is head and shoulders above any of our players in my opinion, but whether we can get that from him every week is another matter, but I am happy he has come here hopefully with a point to prove.
  24. A great group, my favourite single of theirs in A Forest which has IMO one of the best bass lines ever.
