Summer 2023 Transfer Window Thread

Christ, I must be slipping up now that I've commenced my seventh decade as I started last summer's one back in mid March 2022 much to Rico's annoyance.

Anyway, here goes, the exact date the window will open has yet to be announced but will be at some point in early June meaning we are potentially only just over six weeks away.

If we thought last year's one was busy, then I think its fair to say there is going to be a fair old churn this summer as well.

Difficult to forecast too much at this point given amongst other minor things we don't actually know who'll be in charge next season, but lets not let that stop us speculating too much.

Rumours in the papers suggesting we're still after the lad from Go Ahead Eagles that we came close to signing in January.

There will be all the usual chat about who's leaving and how much we'll rake in in fees, so knock yourselves out and get them fired in here lads.

My thoughts exactly.  Imagine a wavering Teklic comes here just to quickly check Panda is happy before signing on the dotted line, hits the profile image page, thinks "but what if I put up a poor

Callum Roberts to Chesterfield possibly.

Also noticeable he's been allowed to leave the squad before the end of the season.

Shame. Could have been handy off the bench at Anfield in the Europa League.

That's disappointing. He showed real potential earlier in the season.

Posted on here earlier this week about Roberts to Chesterfield but haven't heard any more since then.

Panda, you hearing this from a reliable source ?

You know who I was thinking about earlier today?

I'm not saying we should go for him but players of his obvious talent is what is need for a crack at Group Stage of Conference League if getting there.

Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Go! Or when does the window officially open, june 6??

Hoping we don’t see Morris, Stewart, Kennedy, McLennan, Markanday, and polvara in a dons shirt ever again. Willing to give Richardson a chance. Can’t really judge Roberts.

He played less than 30 minutes in games against the Celtic and St Mirren and was honking in both. Since then, he's managed another 30 minute cameo against Hibs in a mildly disappointing game, before disappearing. At no point did he look like he had a bit about him.

Honestly Rico min..

No I just saw some Twitter chat from Chesterfield fans.

But why? At no point has he looked anything other than hopeless.

Shame Liverpool didn't make the Champions League, as we could have made a strong case to get Ramsay back on loan to help him get fit. But I imagine they'll play a young team in the Europa League, which will include him.

Somebody change the locks before Anthony Stewart's train gets in.

Aggregate this season against Celtic with Stewart playing is 3-0.

Aggregate this season against Celtic without Stewart playing is 9-0.

Not sure what point I am trying to make. Just saying guys 🤔

Just realised we only lost 2-0 on the opening day. I always thought that was a 3 or 4 nil scudding.

Halcyon days.

There are three kinds of lies, lies, damned lies and statistics 😉

Michael Rose coming home 🤔

Is he left sided? From memory, he was coming through at the same time as McKenna but was the poorer of the two. Went to Coventry?

So under Goodwin we lost on aggregate 3-0, under Robson it's 9-0.   Who would you want in charge going forward?

Stephen Glass.

What we need is someone with Glass's eye for a player, Goodwin's defensive stability, Robson's experience, and McInnes's gungho do-or-die attacking attitude.

Come on, where’s the gossip? Summer has started, who the fuck are we signing? Besides shinnie clarkson and scales being spoken about returning, and gossip on pollock? And besides Devlin and Michael rose, haven’t heard any other names being linked to us?

Not sure what to think of this. 🤔 Sounds like a bit of a goodbye to me. I really hope not.

That’s the way I read his and Pollock’s messages yesterday but I would guess they have to say that as they are not our players. Pollock has already said he wants to play in Championship and Clarkson would be mad not to go down the road and see what is on offer from others. We have a bit more time this year to get team together as we don’t have competitive games until August so we have a bit of time to allow both to consider options. I would be really surprised if Clarkson does not have other offers to consider from teams with deeper pockets than ours.

Looks like I'm due the pie serving Rico

Hopefully not. I normally assume that if the P&J says something, the opposite will happen. It's usually a good rule of thumb. He leaves a massive hole in our midfield. That said, if we get a good attacking midfielder, then any combination of Shinnie, Ramadani and Barron as a 2 in a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-1-2 might make up for it.

If Celtic don't win the cup on Saturday, therefore meaning we're not guaranteed group stage football, then we may not be able to afford Clarkson, Shinnie, Scales, Pollock, Tierney and McTominay.

Likewise, it does make Aberdeen a less attractive proposition without the money and group stage football.

C'mon Celtic, do It for Barry. You owe him.

Or maybe not😱

It would be such a coup if we got him on a permanent.

In a shock move, the club have announced the signing of Livingston captain Nicky Devlin 🤣
