manc_don Posted July 23 Report Posted July 23 Shame it’s never worked out for him with us, but as someone pointed out on Twitter, probably gets him off the wages for the time being. Just doesn’t have it to take it to the level required consistently. Quote

Ambrose clearly isn’t our level, yengi unproven, and sokler hasn’t taken the opportunities. He’s a known that I think has shown he can perform at this level. Would be an underwhelming signing, but Rooney was no super star when we signed him. Given the wingers and a creative 10, I expect our center forward to get chances this year and hale is a decent finisher…..maybe? I also noted the boy at well scored a double. Can't believe nobody has come in for him. I'm not going to try and spell his name again. Quote
redordead Posted July 23 Report Posted July 23 On Vinnie, I think he'll piss that league. Keskinen looked a world beater over there, just knocking it past people and running. Hasn't really been the case for him here. I think Finnish defences will help him get a decent move out of this. Quote
Slim Posted July 23 Report Posted July 23 6 month loan presumably because their season ends in 6 months. 2 Quote

There’s a common theme with those clubs though (Luton included), they’re all shiteholes. At least Stockport is a quick train to manc mind. 1 Quote

Club would be mad not sell at £800k for a player who is only really an impact sub. 1 Quote

Club would be mad not sell at £800k for a player who is only really an impact sub. Impact sub that had a very large hand in winning us the cup. The problem that we have is that without him coming off the bench, we have very few other options that can change a game. His pace buys him the chance to get several cutbacks in per game, which were vital last season. Milanovic and Keskinen, inverted, don't offer that, and neither do Boyd, Duncan etc. The ability to change tactic is basically lost without him. If he goes, we need to replace him. Not necessarily with another winger, but another player who offers us a chance to switch things up. We're well stocked with guys who can play plan A. 3 Quote
tlg1903 Posted Saturday at 14:47 Report Posted Saturday at 14:47 Listening to Sportsound and Derek Ferguson was asked about Lewis and the potential of a move. The jist of his reply was it would have to be a hell of an offer as he's very settled with his family and genuinely loves Bologna both club and city. Quote
Panda Posted Monday at 03:45 Report Posted Monday at 03:45 Millwall boss Alex Neil on Kevin Nisbet, who missed their pre-season trip to Spain through injury. “I watched some of his games at Aberdeen,” Neil told NewsAtDen. “I spoke to him since we came back, I spoke to him in the summer before we came back in. “We want to get Kevin fit. Unfortunately he’s injured at the moment but when he does get back fit the opportunity is there for him to try and stake his claim to get in the squad. “So he’s like every other player we’ve got, there’s no differences, like I’ve said there’s no pre-conceived ideas on any player at the moment – everything is up for grabs.” Quote
Panda Posted Monday at 12:12 Report Posted Monday at 12:12 Fits the Thelin mould - probably not gonna be a prolific goal scorer but brings the wingers into games. Puts the onus more on Keskinen and Milanovic to get the goals. On paper it doesn't sound too exciting, but we've been chasing this guy for some time, so he's not some panic buy and clearly is a fella we see a lot of potential in. Still only 21. Oddly, he moved to TSC in Serbia on loan last season just as his uncle (who was the manager) left to join Maccabi Tel Aviv. From the looks of it only completed 90 minutes eight times in his 39 appearances, but managed to pick up far more yellow cards than goals and assists. My fear with this is it's another project and we have plenty of those already with Yengi-Ambrose-Sokler-Gueye. It's still a downgrade on Nisbet. But as above, I don't think Thelin is bothered about having a Shankland-type goal scorer - even Nisbet didn't bang them in every week - and it's more about complimenting his wide players. Quote

Maybe after impressing on Friday Ipswich offered £2m for Ambrose so he’s Ambrose replacement, and we still sign a star striker too? 3 Quote
Panda Posted Monday at 12:47 Report Posted Monday at 12:47 Fun fact, Lazetic played against Slobodan Rubezic twice last season. Rubezic's team won both games 2-1. Lazetic started both games and was subbed off at half-time in both of them. Watched a wee snippet of one game. Here's Lazetic slipping in behind the two defenders, and Rubezic trying - and failing - to stop Lazetic getting his shot away. However, perhaps that sums up Lazetic's limitations, it's a fairly tame effort at the goalkeeper, and had he been more aware he could have taken advantage of Rubezic being drawn to him and slipped in his left winger, but probably harsh on account he wouldn't have been in his eyeline. BigAl Posted Monday at 13:15 Author Report Posted Monday at 13:15 I'm feeling ever so slightly underwhelmed by this one, however I'll reserve final judgement until such time as he misses his first open goal in front of the Merkland, should he actually join us Quote

wokinginashearerwonderland Posted Monday at 14:24 Report Posted Monday at 14:24 Seem to recall there was a point not long post Bosman where everyone was just flooding their squad with anyone that was non Scottish. Almost like we are at that point again. It’s gonna be like spot the Scot shortly in the SPL. 1 Quote
