It's easy to say we should have had a proper go at them, but Dembele had Arnason on the ropes a couple of times right after their first goal, and McKenna was getting dragged into the centre of the pitch too often. They would have picked us off with ease if we played further up the park.

Thereās no point in playing 2 up front unless itās in the traditional target man and poacher combination. The way we play football means one of the strikers inevitably ends up playing out wide where they donāt have the pace and trickery to do any damage. I donāt think any full back in the league is going to break into a sweat if theyāre up against Rooney, GMS or Stewart. Especially Stewart, you know every time heās going to try to cut inside onto his left foot.

McGinn didn't leave us because he wanted to go to South Korea, he left us because he wanted to get away from Aberdeen and play for someone else, anyone else. If he does come back here, it'll be with his tail between his legs because he can't hack it in South Korea and no-one else wants him, his heart won't be in it. As much as I liked him while he was here, it's a no for me.

Have you tried looking on the castle's website? They have a section for directions: http://www.bran-castle.com/directions.html Looks like a case of flying into Bucharest airport then jumping on a train to Brasov, the nearest town.

If we go along the foreign coach route, we should be looking for someone with a track record of getting the best out of mediocre teams rather than someone just because they're a household name. Vahid Halilhodži? got Algeria into the knockout round in the last World Cup, got Japan into the next World Cup by finishing top of their qualifying group and has apparently fallen out with the Japan FA types so could be available next summer. Also got Ivory Coast to qualify for 2010 World Cup.

I don't know, everything about this just seems half-arsed. Our chairman has a construction company FFS, he of all people should know how to submit a planning application that meets the criteria that's clearly set out. With all the money and resources we've thrown at this so far, how can we be in a position where our proposal does not comply with what the planning gadgies told us to fix a few months ago? Since then, it seems all we've done is add a few sentences about shuttle buses then thrown the rest of the budget on this Aurora PR campaign that looks like it was a complete waste of time. Maybe I'm being naive, but I can't believe there hasn't been a meeting where the question was asked "what do we need to do in the planning application to meet all of the requirements?" with the conclusion being "let's do that then". We shouldn't need to pull our application at the last minute to address the issues, the issues have been well known and highlighted for months now, there's no excuse for this lack of preparation.

I would have said O'Connor before the Motherwell match, but if he put his head in harm's way the other night, Moult wouldn't have scored his first goal. Not sure if it's fair to criticise someone for not allowing himself to get kicked in the face. He was also the one that got outjumped for their second goal too come to think of it. This may sound a bit simplistic or idealistic, but a number 5 should not be losing headers while defending a corner. That should be their bread and butter.

Their left back is 35 and we haven't tried to get past him even once. We have no width.

Willie Miller with a sore one on GMS:
-
GMS is murder, has he beaten a single man in his Aberdeen career yet?
-
We'd see a huge jump in our revenue too if we were able to beat Apollon Limassol or Kairat fucking Almaty.

That's the whole point though, how can they restrict parking spaces that already exist? We'd be replacing one arena with another on more or less the same footprint. I'm not having the A944 with traffic lights and a roundabout before Kingswells and another choke point Roundabout after Kingswells that leads to 2 single carriageways is better at dispersing traffic than the A90 which will be duelled all the way to Ellon. Both sites have proximity to the AWPR. Westhill is then left with a bunch of back roads no where near equipped to handle that volume of traffic, whereas King Street, Beach Esplanade and the Parkway which leads to both the Persley Bridge and the new 3rd crossing handles high volumes all the time. According to the study performed by the club, most people attending Pittodrie travel either from the city centre or due north of the city. Westhill is not the convenient location for the vast majority of our supporter base.
-
The bus stops on Ellon Road at the bottom of North Donside Road are served by 16 bus routes going both north of the city and into the city. The bus stop nearest the stadium site in Kingsford on the main road out of Westhill is served by 2 bus routes all going the same direction (according to Google Maps). It's not even close. Plus the AECC has the existing P&R facility to accommodate a further supply of shuttle buses. The Parkway can't handle traffic but all the shitty back roads round Westhill and Cults can? Come on now. All traffic leaving Westhill going to the city is going to get backed up at the Roundabout at the start of Lang Stracht. All the parking I've mentioned is on private land? Except of course the thousands of existing spaces on the AECC site that we'd be able to use that we wouldn't have at Kingsford you mean? The private spaces in BoD are just as much, if not more, as Kingford with the added benefit of not being on the other side of a busy dual carriageway. Obviously what I'm proposing has zero prospect of ever happening but location-wise the AECC is light years ahead of Westhill in terms of convenience and accessibility. The only people it is less convenient for is those living to the south of the city and with the exception of a small pocket of resistance in Stonehaven, they're all Huns anyway.
-
It's close to the city, it's well served by about a dozen existing bus routes, has an existing park and ride facility and it would be handier for me to get to. The parking at Kingsford is extremely limited due to regulations and the additional spaces are in an industrial estate a fair walk away across a busy dual carriageway. The AECC has thousands of spaces already there and sits in an industrial estate that will be largely empty during matches. Could even open up the big paved area in the Barracks. Far more parking than Kingsford, and probably Pittodrie too. Other than the number 13 bus, I can't think of any bus routes that serve Pittodrie that wouldn't also serve BoD. How many bus routes currently serve Westhill? Traffic you have the A90 and AWPR to the north taking the bulk of the non-city supporters, the Parkway to the west taking everyone west of Kittybrewster and King Street/Beach Esplanade taking everyone else. Far more accessible than Westhill. There's a benefit to the council from just handing over the site in its current state and walking away with some cash in their hipper. We won't need much facilities in the stadium, can easily knock off a couple of million from the construction costs. Plus we'll have a tower. How many stadiums have a tower?
-
I still think the AECC site is our best option, and we can make use of most of the existing facilities to cut down on costs. A stadium the size of Pittodrie plonked over the existing main conference hall still gives us access to thousands of existing parking spaces and all the space in the world behind each stand. If we use: The red highlighted building for changing rooms, medical facilities, gym, players canteen, etc. Make use of the existing bridge and connect it to the stadium. The blue highlighted building for main entrance, corporate offices, function rooms, etc. The purple highlighted building for club museum, supporters bar, club shop and keep the viewing tower. The green highlighted building can be converted into indoor training pitches. Then we can minimise the amount of stuff we need to incorporate into the stadium, basically just the seats and corporate boxes. The yellow area we can try to purchase from the army for outdoor training facilities, we train there often enough anyway. Still have the Park & Ride facility already on site, plenty of buses going both north and south within 5 minute walk of the stadium, the AWPR starts a few miles to the north too. Not much local residents to complain about it either, and if they're willing to put up with Olly Murs putting on a concert in the car park directly next to their houses, I'm sure they won't worry too much about a stadium. Lobby the council to sign everything over to us on the cheap to save them demolition costs and having to construct something else on the site. Tap up our new neighbours GE Oil & Gas for stadium naming rights and use that cash to buy out the owners of the 2 hotels. I've thought of everything! If we've already bought the Westhill site, just pave the bit of it closest to the houses, put a locked gate in front of it, and it'll be turned into an unofficial gypsy camp in no time.

I can see it from both sides. His number one responsibility is to earn as much points as possible from each match we play, so he feels he has to play the strongest team possible at all times as long as we have something to play for. If we were still mid-table cloggers, this probably wouldn't be so much of an issue. On the other hand, he's spent the last couple of seasons filling the squad with absolute dross (Jeffrey Monakana, Josh Parker, Alan Tate, Wes Burns, etc) on loan that he then feels duty bound to give them match time ahead of our own young players. Scott Wright has been knocking on the door for a couple of seasons. If he's going to bring in someone on loan that keeps him out of the matchday squad, at least put him on loan to a Championship team for a season to get some competitive first team football under his belt.

Can anyone actually imagine GMS and Stuart Armstrong having a rowdy night out? They come across as 2 polite lads who probably tip the toilet attendant every single time even after their seal is broken. He's done something a bit stupid but I don't think we're looking at Noel Whelen having his Beemer nicked after an attempted coked up threesome in a west end hotel level of debauchery. So far the explanation that he was running away from people fighting and jumped over a wall without realising there was a river on the other side seems the most plausible. That said, it is a bit worrying if he is stupid enough to jump into a fucking river unintentionally.

This Project Aurora thing is all well and good but wouldn't the money be better spent making sure the planning application complies with all the regulations and is water tight?
-
McClaren would be a very good manager up here I reckon, would much rather they went with Hartley or Pressley.
-
I think Rooney's good enough to score enough goals to get us to 2nd/3rd in the league. If Motherwell are wanting £500k for Moult, I don't think he adds £500k worth of value to our team between now and when we can get him on a free. We do need Rooney to stay fit though.
-
If the weather was an issue, then we should have been flying out there a lot earlier than the day before the game to ensure we get a couple of intensive training sessions in that climate under our belt. Considering Arnason has just spent 6 months playing in the Cypriot league with experience of the climate and the atmosphere in the stadiums, and the playing style of the opposition, he should have been starting (assuming he is match fit).

Video of the fighting at the end:
-
That header on the 95th minute was our first attempt on target. Just not good enough.

We got going in Bosnia because we took off Stockley and were forced to stop pumping long balls up to the useless cunt.
