  1. Short corners, especially when we do it. We seem to have no better than a 50% success rate of the ball actually entering the box when we do it. Throw ins not being taken by the player who gets to the ball first. Unless you have a player with gorilla arms that can launch the ball right onto the pen spot, the throw in should be taken as quickly as possible by the player closest to the ball before the opposition have a chance to get into position and pick up all their markers. Or when the next guy comes jogging down the flank unmarked with his hand in the air signalling that he will take the throw in, take the opportunity to throw the ball to him instead of handing him the ball to try to throw it to someone who's fully marked. Again, it's something we've been terrible at for as long as I can remember.
  2. Is this boy a real referee or is this some kind of Jim'll Fix It/Make A Wish type thing going on?
  3. Made Beef Pho for the first time last night using my Vietnamese brother-in-law's mother's recipe. Tasted pretty good.
  4. Surprised Jack and McGinn have 6 months left, our business model in the last few seasons has been to tie down our best and most valuable players on long term contracts. I wouldn't be surprised if both have already been offered extended terms but are either stalling or have said no. I'd keep Considine. He's a known quantity, is usually dependable, can play in a couple of positions and probably isn't paid top dollar. Presumably if we let him go, we'd replace him with a gamble on an English League 1/2 player or get in an untested English PL/Championship player on loan who'll either be good and leave us with a gaping whole when they leave after 6/12 months, or shite but we need to keep playing him because we promised his parent club that we would. In both cases, we'd be better off keeping him. I like Pawlett, but I don't see him ever taking that next step to become a fixture in our starting 11, and for his own sake, he'd be better off going somewhere that gives him that opportunity.
  5. Steve Clarke would be a good option. There's no-one in Scottish football currently that I'd be happy with.

If I'm going to pay for it, I'd want someone who knows what they're doing.
  7. Heart doesn't cost any money. Did any of our players even get frustrated enough to get a yellow card? What is the purpose of Wes Burns? How can you go home and face your wife after she watched Scott Brown make a mockery of your manhood?
  8. Does Scott Brown have Kenny McLean's testicles in a little velvet purse? One of the most gutless performances I have ever seen from an Aberdeen player.
  9. 1. Most of our best players (McGinn, Hayes, Rooney, Logan and probably Jack and McLean) are in too much of a comfort zone where they've accepted there's probably not a big move around the corner and are content with their lot which means the ambition and will to win that is required to give us a serious chance of challenging for titles will always be lacking. 2. Most of us (myself included) deep down are ok with that if it means regular 2nd/3rd place finishes, Europe every year and the odd cup final.
  10. There's usually a bunch of German and Italian teams over there at the same time, good chance for a glamour friendly.
  11. To be fair, there was a 2/3 month period where he was brilliant in every game once he had settled. He never really re-captured that form after a bunch of injuries though.
  12. Time to start building for the Euro 2020 qualifiers then. Ideally, that would mean dropping any player who won't be around to play in them or the finals. Obviously, that'll never happen, we'll still be calling up Greer in a year's time then not putting our brightest young players on the pitch for the toughest games because they lack experience.
  13. They should try and get a better deal. You'll get a nice 4 bed with a big garden in somewhere like Danestone for half that. For example: https://www.aspc.co.uk/search/property/347626/14-Laurel-View/Aberdeen
  14. Burns as a lone striker is one of the most baffling things I have seen in a long time. Especially as no-one seemed to let Reynolds and O'Connor know, so they continued thumping high balls up the pitch. I can't see any justification for dropping Maddison either. If we wanted to use our pace to get in behind their defence as McInnes said before the match, he's the only player in our squad capable of playing the sort of passes needed for that to become reality. I just don't understand what we were hoping to get from the game. In my mind, if you pack the midfield, it's so you're able to press the opposition midfield without leaving you exposed elsewhere on the pitch. We didn't do that at all, we gave their midfield all the space in the world. We're also continuously left exposed with Considine as an attacking outlet on the left wing, which isn't really fair on him either as he's a competent central defender and little more. It should be Shinnie overlapping with Hayes, and a big ugly brute of a player bashing heads in the centre of the pitch.
  15. I don't have enough loyalty points for it to matter to me at the moment, but I've been buying 2 tickets for each match online through my account for my wife and I. Does this mean that if I did have enough loyalty points, I'd only be able to buy a single ticket despite having bought 2 tickets for each match? So I'll need to register an account for my wife who lives in the same house as me for future matches? Seems a bit odd.
  16. The TV aerial will give you access to all of the Digital Freeview channels. Just by connecting the aerial to your TV, you'll get 50+ channels and all the radio stations. You'll even get the regular (BBC1/2, ITV, C4, C5, etc) in HD if you've got a decent signal and a newish TV.

  18. Someone go through Quitongo FFS.
  19. They'll go for the easy option, Paul Lambert.
  20. Working abroad and mostly lurking on Mad but it seems everyone's here now, so I'm back home in Aberdeen and on here!
  21. First visit to Pittodrie in about 7 years today, picked a nice CEO day for it!
  22. 5 to 1 ratio seems a bit stingy
  23. He's just the modern day Alec Cleland/Gary Bollan.
  24. Went to see Faithless on Friday night, alright if you like that sort of thing.
  25. Hope these fuckers go down. I had one of their scum fans accuse me of breaking Durrant's ankle tonight. Upon finding out I supported Aberdeen he attempted to shake my hand and said: "ach no hard feelings, you only broke Durrant's ankle." "eh? me personally?" "well aye, yer all at it"
