  1. Indeed, FC Noah of Armenia knocked out AEK Athens on their way to the Group Stage last year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Noah#European And Shkendija who we scraped through against on away goals back in 2015 knocked out FCSB from this year's Champions League qualifiers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KF_Shkëndija#Results Plenty of beatable teams there, but also plenty of teams that can punish us if we're sloppy.
  2. Terrible, terrible decision but we were asking for that being so slack with the ball over the preceding 5-10 minutes.
  3. McCoist sounds like Trump just windmilling absolute nonsense.
  4. That Timothy Akindineli defender that QPR signed was on the bench for them at the weekend and has been allocated number 19 shirt. From the sounds of it he was quite far from getting into our first team.
  5. Devlin also doesn’t have the pace but has the cojones to just plow past, through or into the full back anyway. Weird thing to say about a right back but we really missed his determination to get into the box and get a shot away in the last 10 minutes.
  6. I did like the suggestion of somehow combining AFCCT and Sport Aberdeen with the wider AFC operation but do wonder how that move to a "community club" model in partnership with the Council fits the reality that AFC is largely privately owned by wealthy American investors. And unless I missed something, we'll still need to go down to Dundee for water slides.
  7. Sounds reasonable in principle. AFC commit to 99 year lease, "donate" Pittodrie land (I assume we retain liability for demolition costs). Council uses capital loan facility for low-interest financing, receives large plot of land they can use for social housing and solves the issue they have of what to replace the Beach Leisure Centre with. I would be a bit worried if the council sold the stadium to some faceless property investment company though. I also suspect that the proposed location would not be a simple construction project in terms of groundworks.
  8. Not unhappy with that, IIRC he was one of our best players in our last European campaign.
  9. I saw him as someone like Ryan Porteous or an XL Bully. You can invest a lot of time and effort into training them to function normally most of the time but you’ll never remove that instinct to go radge when under pressure, usually at the worst possible time.
  10. Since Cormack took over construction costs have probably increased by at least £20m (IIRC expectation for Westhill was ~£40m) and likely value of Pittodrie land has decreased a fair bit too. Can’t see any real progress happening any time soon.
  11. Some frightening stats there but I guess you can't really get a good picture of someone's ability (actual and potential) from 585 minutes, presumably spread across a lot of substitute appearances when his team are already losing.
  12. We have Erik Edman on the payroll as a scout in Sweden IIRC, could be from that.
  13. Surprised Palaversa seems to be well out of the picture. For me he’s better than Nilsen at pretty much everything, as frustrating as he can often be.
  14. Problem with Yengi is that he doesn’t seem to be particularly aggressive. At least when things weren’t going Gueye’s way you could still rely on him to leave the boot in or body someone out of the way. Yengi’s being dominated by Liam Scales.
  15. FCSB number 9 Birlegia looks a handful.
  16. Surprised Rubezic gets the nod to play alongside Dorrington ahead of Molloy.
  17. A lot is being made of the lack of friendlies. Leaving 10 days between the last friendly and the first competitive game, and with almost an entirely new front-4, does seem to be a bit odd.
  18. Nielsen’s like that cunt at work who’s been a supervisor for the last 10 years because he can’t actually do the work itself but doesn’t have the leadership skills to get promoted. So he’s just there getting in the way, contributing nothing.
  19. Jensen is an absolute fanny, he might be technically better than Devlin but we’re a better team with Devlin in it.
  20. Not sharp enough, not aggressive enough.
  21. Drita seem to have a fairy respectable record in Europe, only being knocked out by some well known teams and never really being thrashed (although not really beating anyone of note either): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Drita#Drita_in_Europe Looks an absolute pain in the arse to get to, minimum of 2 connections from ABZ. I think I'd rather play the Romanians.
  22. I guess the dynamics of buying football strips have changed in recent years. When I was a kid, getting the new strip was a birthday or Christmas present, then the kits lasted 2 years minimum. No point in buying a kit at Christmas now as it’ll be obsolete in 5 months, not ideal when they’re not a kick in the arse away from £100.
  23. I see Dundee Utd have been caught defrauding the taxpayer with dodgy R&D claims, could be on the hook for up to £2m if I'm reading this correctly: https://taxpolicy.org.uk/2025/07/31/dundee-united-rd-claim/
  24. It is the new 3rd kit, heard it’s got a similar colour scheme to the 2020/21 away shirt, white with gold and black trim.
