  1. We somehow managed to parlay Sone's loan into a permanent move, so could happen! Provided he doesn't turn out to be horse after all right enough...
  2. Great news. A week or so ago I was despondent. Now, a mere couple of wins and few days later, I love the Dons again.

  4. They must have offered him a decent basic, cos he hasnae gone there for fitba reasons. That much is for sure. Bah.
  5. Reading the article, he is not even guaranteed a game... Hope you have better luck this season than last Russell!
  6. If we can get him, I would definitely take him. Head and shoulders above anyone we have at the moment. Have lost touch with how he has been doing down in that England, but if he is fit and willing to take a reasonable wage then can't see any downside... he must be in dire need of rebuilding his reputation? Apparently he has been talking to the Hibees?! Surely not! That would be a sickener...
  7. As I just said in the St Mirren thread, there is absolutely no evidence of this on show whatsoever so far. He seems to speak just as much shite as any other manager and is just as prone to getting the 'tombola' out... I have it from a 'friend of a wife of one of the first team squad' that he is not particlularly well-liked or respected by anyone in that squad... not that I care much for their opinions... useless shower...
  8. One thing I don't understand is why McGhee is in the paper and on the radio that day saying Paton and Maguire can go on loan (i.e. aren't quite at the required level for AFC 1st team) and that Wright can just plain GTF, but he then turns to those same three players to come to the rescue when we are struggling against St Mirren that night?!?!? Does he think that 'reverse psychology' is the latest tool in the manager's box - or is he just a tool? I remain completely uninmpressed by McGhee's tenure so far. I see no sign of the improved man management skills that he was supposedly going to bring - in order to get more out of the players than a certain former manager was apparenty capable of... So far: FAIL
  9. Airdrie for me, as the missus and her father are both fans. (Of course that means I'd get pelters if we lost...) Hmmm... Maybe Raith would be better after all!
  10. I second that emotion. Given the record of our last few captains he coudnae really be any worse an option... Would love us to have someone with a mouth on them as captain for a change. Don't imagine he'd be too slow getting tore in if given licence...
  11. Nice one. Nice to hear someone who actually appreciates the fact that the Dons are a pretty decent team to be playing for and who is happy to be settled in Aberdeen! Has definitely been giving 100% so far this season - let's just hope that is maintained now the ink is dry...
  12. +1 And that made me laugh out loud About time we had a proper decent result. A double next weekend would be nice. Not that I'm a greedy cunt or nothin'...
  13. The SPL is pish. The fact that we are mediocre mid-table in a table-full of mediocrity is just painful. We should go up there mob-handed, kill the entire playing and management squads and then throw ourselves into the North Sea. (Am I taking our current form too much to heart, do you think?)
  14. It's a minor quibble but i did say man management. It is perfectly possible to have a decent record as a manager whilst being thought of as a bit of a dick by a proportion of your squad. If the majority are happy then he will get away with it. If results and performances stay as poor as they are, then it will eventually become a problem.
  15. According to someone I know, who knows someone who knows someone in our senior squad very well, MM is pretty much piss poor as far as man management goes. He has alienated a fair few already, apparently, and seems to be going the same way with young Sone. If Sone was called Seany was going to play for Scotland's under 20s at the U20 WC would any objection have been voiced by MM? I don't think so.
  16. Here's hoping The Red Avenger is more right than me. I'll have what he's having in the meantime... Except that I'd end up these days...
  17. I've got to admire the positive spin that you guys are putting on this match. I thought we were utterly pish for the entire 90 minutes. Only player with pass marks was Langfield and he almost managed to gift them a goal from a shot that was going wide, so even that is dubious! Only reason we weren't badly beaten was a combination of luck, Langfield and Falkirk being possibly even more shite than we are. I see very few positives to take from the game at all. Aye the youngsters were OK, but only OK for youngsters. They didn't exactly set the heather on fire. As for our experienced players. Ouch. It was like watching a couple of pub teams. And about as enjoyable as
  18. Whilst not wishing to fall into the realms of slander (or do I mean libel?), Trump has been declared bankrupt several times, and is only as 'rich' as the chumps he can convince to invest in his various schemes... many of which go tits up - often just after he has managed to sell on his stake to some other sucker... He never seems to suffer personally and continues to ride a media band-wagon that is based mainly on his braggadocio and his wacky hairstyle. He is, in effect, the white Don King. He is a lot more similar to mad vlad than you seem to think el p. Although you are right about the cunt not investing in AFC in a million years anyway. I just fucking hate him. And his attempts to buy most of Aberdeenshire for a load of rich fat yanks to hit a wee ba' aboot. And how the media want to suck his johnson because he is a 'personality', rather than take a good look at his previous business history. Bunch of wanks. EDIT: And I'm still pissed aff that Scotland made such a mess of qualifying!
  19. Bah. What a misleading thread title. I was expecting an ethical debate about the nature of hard-work, loyalty and decency.
  20. +1 Trump and his ilk can GTF. I'd rather have the team and chairman we have now than some millionaire's fashionable fantasy fitba' team like Man City, Chelsea or whoever. As soon as the putative millionaire loses interest (or runs out of cash), what happens then... do we really want to be Livi?
  21. Sounds to me like McGhee getting his excuses in early. The mark of a poor craftsman is to blame his tools, innit? (Although they do play like a bunch of fucking tools at times right enough...) And just because it drove me mad reading this thread; Stoney - it's YOUNGSTERS not YOUNGSTARS... (And I think you meant INCLEMENT weather) Use your spell check or a dictionary or even google every now and then Stoney, ffs...
  22. There really is always someone worse of than yourself, no matter how crap you think you've got it, eh? I feel so much better about us tonight. Thanks for that Hertz.
  23. He was totally gash, consistently error prone and then, just to top it off, he 'accidentally' crocked our most important player (so everyone seemed to think for the last couple of weeks while he was absent anway) and the most obvious alternative candidate... As league debuts as captain go, that was fucking awful.
  24. Dunno how much it helps, but most of my work mates are non-Dandys and they all seem to rate McGhee and think he has just faced these Euro games a bit too early in the day... No sure i'm convinced, but it's a straw, innit?! We'll find out in due course how good or bad we really are. At the moment we are just fucking depressed!
