  1. Sounds a sensible laddie. Here's hoping he stays fit and hungry!
  2. To me, this is a no-brainer. Get him signed up as a player-coach on a two-year deal. Even if he just trains with the muppets we have at the back at the minute, he can't fail but to improve them. McArdle, Mawene, Mackie and several others could easily be shipped out - they are mince. Would happily see us blooding some youngsters at the back beside Considine, under Anderson's tutelage, in preference to the never-beens we have at the minute. Desperate times and all that...
  3. Funny how in that article that quotes Jim Bett we are now being accused of having expectations that are too LOW!!! I thought the problem was that we expected too much?!?! Wish these fucking rags would make their minds up.
  4. For a moment there I thought you meant this Lord Kitchener. Would have been a bit bizarre right enough... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEtnXIfVAH4
  5. Back on topic : No visible progress has been made under Brown. Crowds are dwindling (I haven't been able to justify spending 20-30 quid to watch the mince we produce for over a year now) and we are still second bottom in a league where every other team is discernably poorer than they were last season. Scottish football sucks and we suck harder than almost every other team in the SPL. Could never bring myself to support another Scottish team rather than AFC, but have lost almost all interest in the SPL. Can't even be bothered watching our 'highlights' on the interweb. Even when we win we still look pretty shite. Bah.
  6. Surely we'll be too busy booing the 11 wage-thiefs still wearing red?
  7. That's our intellectual credentials re-established, then... Tres bien.
  8. Ooft. If that is the intellectual height we are hoping for our kids to reach, god help us...
  9. At least the BBC have now called the tackle on Milsom 'clumsy' and have made it clear that the daft bastard injured himself. I would have used words more like 'horrendous', 'wreckless' or 'inexcusable' (actually I would use the exact words 'fucking filthy') - but I guess the BBC want 'Coisty' to spout his shite in front of their microphones again some time soon... No mention whatsoever of the damage he has or might have done to Milsom...
  10. How Naismith is not being reviled in the press is unbelievable. 'Poor wee Stevie, that animal Milsom deliberately put his leg in the way and has injured him really badly' If that tackle had been the other way around Milsom would be getting hounded out the league. As it is, it barely seems to rate a mention other than as an aside in the near-global commiseration for the wee Hun wank. I'm not suprised, but I do resevre the right to be utterly disgusted and disappointed. If we had played against ten men after that tackle we might have managed to scrape a draw... EDIT: Oh, and I might as well say; the red card for Fallon was a fucking joke an' a'!
  11. Despite Celtic's recent poor form, I still expect us to lose this one. Would be nice if we could play reasonably well whilst doing so, though.
  12. Craig Brown rubbishes link with Irish job ‘I’m totally committed to Aberdeen FC’ Published: 11/10/2011 ABERDEEN FC boss Craig Brown today dismissed speculation that he’s poised to become the next manager of Northern Ireland. It was reported that the Irish FA want Brown to succeed Nigel Worthington, who is stepping down after tonight’s Euro 2012 qualifier in Italy. Brown said: “The story is complete and utter rubbish. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2472035 So, that's him away then...
  13. The simple answer to this is: 'significantly less than whatever figure ends up getting quoted in the EE' aka 'as little as Wiggy's firm can get away with paying'
  14. I'm currently enjoying a little piece of humble pie just now. I'll happily devour some more for a few more performances and results like that!
  15. Have to say they were very easy on the eye! If they could maintain that level we might actually win a few games. I fear they are tough fixtures though... Well done for that result, but can you keep it up?! Well done to those that actually went along as well. They must have arrived fearing the worst and left feeling pretty delighted.
  16. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3845095/Craig-vows-to-be-players-human-shield.html By SCOTT DAVIE CRAIG BROWN has begged fed-up Dons fans to make him the target of their abuse and not the players at Pittodrie tonight. The under-fire Aberdeen manager admits the Red Army have every reason to revolt after a dismal start to the season. Attendances have been dropping like a stone but Brown wants those who do turn up to get right behind his players. He said: "I can only appeal to the fans better nature to be supportive and if they have any issues or complaints to contact me. I feel acutely responsible for the recent run as do the players. "I am annoyed that we have let the fans down. "It is nine months I have been at the club and many of these players are the ones I have brought in. "The fans can be assured I will fight tooth and nail to get them the victories that they deserve. "Ultimately it is the supporters' right to boo if they feel like it but it is unhelpful to have a disgruntled element. "I never look on the negative side as I always hope there will be a positive reaction from the fans. But it is also up to the players to ensure the fans do not have anything to boo by giving their absolute all against Dunfermline. "This is no hard luck story as I realise we can not go on like this. "We have to be fired up for the game and I am confident my players will be." That's despite the fact that Youl Mawene and Kari Arnason have both savaged their team mates in the wake of recent poor results. Brown admits to having a word with both players following their recent outbursts but insists there is no disharmony in the dressing room. He added: "Mawene and Arnason have been critical but they are only repeating what we have said in the dressing room. They are good lads who are just frustrated. "I have also spoken to one or two individually, new and old ones, and the morale in the dressing room is great. There are no divisions. "I think we have enough leaders on the park. I've told the more experienced ones to lift and lay their team-mates on the pitch and to be fair, they do that. "They feel for the club and hate to see us losing. They just want to do the best they can for it and are giving 100 per cent." Richard Foster and Isaac Osbourne have both recovered from injury and will start as will Fraser Fyvie who missed the last two games skippering Scotland Under-19s in Slovenia. ------------------------------------------------ Turns out it IS his fault after all...
  17. The long-term future is one thing, but it's up to the manager, coaches and players to do something in the short-term. We should still be able to win more games than we lose with the current squad (or at least win some games!), but there seems to be a bizarre problem with attitude, concentration and application... At a time when every other team in the SPL is about as weak as they have ever been, it is criminal that we are languishing second bottom, with not a single away goal and but a solitary win to our names - whatever Wiggy may or or may not be doing. Organisation and hard-work should be enough to win most games in this league and there is no excuse for lacking that. Excuses are about all Wee Craig has come up with so far though - generally preceded by the phrase, 'I'm not making excuses, but...'. Not suggesting we get rid of our current management team, just wishfully hoping that someone somewhere within AFC tells them all to pull their fucking socks up and that CB would develop the balls to actually drop some of the major offenders. I'd rather lose on Friday with a team of kids than go through the agony of seeing (by which I actually mean 'hearing about after the fact') the 'experienced' players put in yet another desultory shift.
  18. Richard Foster captain material?!?! What a fucking joke! Fuck off Ricky. Couldn't care less that he was at Snake Mountain last season. My only gripe with him is that he is clearly shite. Him and Clark have been disasters since day 1 this season. If Granpaw Broon is any kind of manager neither will play on Friday. Bet they do, though...
