  1. Did you take a wrong turning somewhere N&T and post this on the wrong thread? If not then that's VERY random! BTW, Jack was crap and we don't miss him.
  2. Singer David Cassidy dies aged 67.
  3. I see the Sheff Utd capt Paul Coutts has broken his leg and is now out for the season. I know he's an Aiberdeen loon and was once on the clubs books but was released during Jimmy Blunderwoods tenure for being too small. He's now a 6ft midfield capt of a team pushing for promotion to the Premiership. I know we can't keep hold of every young player we have on our books but he definitely seems like one who's got away. Is there any others who've been let go by the club who we should've held on to?
  4. I believe this thread started out talking about how someone has 'invested' in our club... As touched on earlier in the thread before it turned the way it has, i've never really understood 'investment' in a football club, even all the massive successful clubs are 10's if not 100's of millions in debt so how can these rich people (whom i'd assume to be reasonably intelligent) see investing in a football club to be a wise move? The ONLY case i can think of is Fergus McCann at the Dhims, i'm sure there may be one or two more examples, but in the whole i'd suggest - you're not getting your money back if you invest in a football club. I'd love to know the real reason for all the massive foreign investment in English football. How much has Abramovic at Chelsea and the Arabs who own Man City ploughed into those clubs? There's obviously the transfer fees which may be recouped but you can't recoup wages of which those must reach the hundreds of millions. So, what's the reason for it all?
  5. Folk that don't know their fitba but try and talk fitba with you because they know you're obsessed. While it's nice of them to try and talk to you about a subject that they know you're into it's fucking annoying when they start making bland statements and coming out with mentally out of date shit... i just try and change the subject as these convos boil my piss. On a similar subject, i see this guy almost every morning when out walking the dogs, he usually wears an AFC beanie hat and so for that reason alone i did make the effort to speak to him. It was the week in the run up to the skittery farts game at Murrayfield, convo went... Me: F'like, are you going down to Murrayfield this weekend? Him: Eh?! Me: (repeat) Him: No... no, are Scotland playing? It's a place i've always wanted to go tho. Me: No! The Dons are playing Hearts there... Him: Oh are they? Me: ....... a'right, better get these dogs walked, see ye. Dinna wear a Dons tourie in the vicinity of a Dons fanatic if you don't know the first thing about them!
  6. I've no idea if he'll go or stay, i can see the argument for both sides. It's my opinion that he probably does feel he's taken us as far as he can. Certainly seems that way as we keep stumbling at the same points every season and he seemed to throw his hands up last week after the dhims game as if to say 'well that's it'. Even if McInnes did turn round and say he wasn't interested in the job, would that be all it take for folks to take that as gospel? Just asking... If he does go i'd like to see Jack Ross from St Mirren brought in. That's who i wanted when i thought DM was going to Soondalund and he's kept up his impressive work into this season.
  7. Well, i'm pretty fucking pissed off having endured that shit tonight! I doubt the dhims will get an easier game all season. Why the fuck we sat back and let them do what they want, even beyond the halfway line is beyond me, it just breeds negativity amongst the team. If the players had been instructed to go at them and force them into mistakes (like Bayern and PSG did) if would have got the fans on side which in turn should have helped spur them on. It was just dreadful sitting watching that. Even when the dhims were 1 up they were still flinging themselves at Joe in an effort to close him down. How DM expected to get a result against them with that approach i'll never know! Utter horse shit! If the players aren't fit enough to chase down the opposition (which i've been questioning all season) then that too is down to the management team. There's no excuse for our players not being fit and you don't need to be a supreme athlete to do so, so no point in referring to my PSG and Bayern points. Oh and Craig Fucking Thompson really excelled himself tonight.... what a spineless fucking prick! Fucking pissed off with that... did i say?!
  8. C'MON AIBERDEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCITED MUCH!!!!!
  9. I'd be gutted if he came back, i was one of the cheer leaders when he announced he was leaving. First of all his brilliance was very scarce, and secondly i want to see Scott Wright get a proper chance, i look forward to watching him more than i ever did McGinn (outside of his first season with us). I class McGinn in the same bracket as McLean.... someone who has used us to their own benefit, which i don't have a problem with, but their lack of passion for the club is there for all to see and contributes to their lack of consistency.
  10. Am i allowing a couple of positive midweek results against the dhims to make me think that 'we always do well against the mhinks at Pittodrie in midweek games'? I just canna see us losing this! Nips & Tatties... fook sake min, i know it's Monday morning but i'm thinking you'd be best staying away from sharp objects just now.
  11. I think it would be crazy to mess with the defence after how secure we've been there lately. Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see DM bring Consi back into left back and Shinzaa into midfield again, but to me that'd be ridiculous. Not a big fan of Stewart but i'd bring him in to replace Christie, if he can't get motivated for this game then we might as well send him packing at Xmas. Failing that i'd bring in Ball alongside AO'C and really try and keep them out.
  12. I just arrived home on Wed morning from work meaning getting a taxi from the airport. We all know taxi drivers should be the city councillors as they're full of opinion and ideas Anyway, this one was having a grump about the road works heading into Bucksburn which are related to the new Exhibition Centre, it was him that raised the question about why the fitba stadium was never proposed for that location. I don't know if it ever was but it wouldn't have been the worst location. Close to where the AWPR will be and it surely wouldn't have been difficult to run a satellite train station to their from Dyce station? Surely still close enough to the city limits to be considered the citys fitba team? Only 15 mins from my house. Disna matter now but just wondered if it ever was considered and if not why not?
  13. The BBC reckon Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Oor Joe! I know he's signed up till 2020 and seems to be really enjoying his fitba just now but Villa are a big club... he wouldn't would he? Be a HUGE loss if we lost Joe.
  14. If we were to truely unite with England we could do what the Czech Rep and Slovakia did and take parts of both their names to make Czechoslovakia. We could take the first part of our countrys name and the second part of Englands to make..... Scotland.
  15. Is Regan trying to get the sack?! Seem to me he's been trying to get it for years but seems to keep avoiding it! Seriously though, how much longer can he get away with the gross mismanagement of the organisation he's entrusted to run and look after? Everything he does causes uproar, does he have to fire himself to get the boot?
  16. For a start St Johnstone have never beaten us in a Cup Final. Secondly, i never claimed TW to be a footballing god! I claimed a few things about him which was my opinion and i said so, perhaps you'd be better reading my post again instead of jumping right in as soon as you saw the name mentioned. And to top it all you mention Kilnsmann..... WTF does Klinsmann know about Scottish fitba and their players?!
  17. I don't want someone like Big Sam or Moyes as they won't have a clue about which players in Scotland are doing well, which was part of the problem with the last eejit! Those two along with Lambert would be doing exactly the same as Strachan, picking anyone from south of the border who's ever heard of Rabbie Burns. I like the sound of Tommy Wright from Saints. He's no ties to either of the gruesome twosome, he knows the Scottish game inside out, tactically astute and relatively speaking, Saints are to the SPFL what Scotland are to the international scene, so for us to be doing as well on the international scene as what they are doing i'd be delighted. Obviously that last bit is my own perspective on things.
  18. Russell Anderson in the Kirin Cup 2006?
  19. Was no one at the Falkirk Stadium to watch Vernon notch a hattrick after coming on as a sub? No? Me neither, but thought it worth the mention with him not even starting the game.
  20. What a bunch of cunts they are! Wife said she fancied going to see Emile Sande in A/deen later this month so i goes and buys tickets. Then she informs me we've got something else the same night.... not TMs fauly, i know. To cut a long story short, website t's&c's - writes letter within 14 days - receives email saying to phone to 'exchange tickets' - phones but only possible to get automated shit! - writes second shitagram - receives shitagram back telling me i wasn't getting to get a refund - lists tickets on GetMeIn willing to take the loss of one ticket - wife sells tickets to friends - try to get on GetMeIn to removing listing but it won't recognise my account, but i can see my tickets there for the number off and price set so they are defo listed. And of course it's fucking impossible to contact the cunts unless by written letter, which is a bit awkward 100 miles offshore Nigeria. Guaranteed someone will try and buy them off GetMeIn and i won't have them! On top of being impossible to deal with and or contact, their prices are ridiculously high, there's add ons left right and centre and if it's a high demand gig their website is a royal pain in the arse. They're just cunts! That's the rant over for now.
  21. Thanks for that Big Al. I did know about that. A Column of Fire would appear to be the name of the book. Just this morning i've finished watching the last episode of Deadwood. I know it's old but i got recommended it after enjoying Hell on Wheels. It's probably better than HoW. Funnily enough Ian McShane is one of the main characters as he is in Pillars of the Earth. Great actor.
  22. I loved that book! So much so i bought the TV series on DVD and the sequel World Without End. And you're also right about Hayley Atwell!!!
  23. A pretty unusual looking line up again today. Glad to see McKenna kept his place. A O'C in midfield or part of a 5 man defence (at home? )? Whoops!!! Just noticed Consi is out so no 5 man defence.
  24. Out In my cabin offshore Nigeria - i'll stay up to see the line ups. In my bunk offshore Nigeria Going for 1-1. Someone to scramble a late late equaliser after DM throws everything into the last 10 mins. As mentioned above, big number of tickets sold, great to hear but they need to be entertained or they'll stop coming.
  25. Just finished watching Narcos season 3. Other than Dons victories on the telly, that's the best thing i've watched on the box. Better even than the first 2 seasons with Pablo. I had my doubts about season 3 due to the lack of Escobar but i needn't have worried. The suspense is unreal, i had to check my heart rate at times!
