He definitely played there at least once.  Mackie, Kerr and Grassi started in midfield at Ibrox under McGhee.

Was a bit selective I admit. What I was trying to say was that he was bad enough in his actual position, so McGhee starting him for a string of games in the centre of midfield made him (and the team) look substantially worse. Probably a failed attempt on my part to appear clever. Justified it in the accompanying piece:

Are you for real?  It was bad enough he couldn't kick the ball straight, but he was so bad, he even once chucked a throw-in out of play on the same touchline.

Ifil, Bossu, McQuilken and "Gie it tae Johnnie he's clean through" Stewart are about the worst I've ever seen in a Dons jersey.

Leon Mike yeah but Magennis has positive "qualities".

 

Tommy Wright was nae good but he scored an equaliser at St Mirren the same night he dive-blocked a keepers kick out wi his face.

Bernard should never be mentioned in a thread about the worst Aberdeen players.  Worst transfer deals maybe, but certainly not one of our worst - far from it IMHO honest opinion.
