Would actually say Vernon is the superior goalscorer, Stavrum - without wishing to sound ungrateful - scored a fair few pens for us, Vernon's have all been from open play which is more impressive in my opinion.

What we've been crying out for years, a goalscorer who kens where to be at the right time. Very useful player. Thats him 1 goal away fae Miller's best tally! 

Wasn't convinced at first, but if he's scoring, he's obviously good enough!

for years we were good up until the final third, now vernon gives us the finisher we were missing.

 

Important we either keep maguire and aluko or replace them properly, as it's their build up that vernon benefits from.

Having said that every natural poacher just seems to manage to be in the right place at the right time

Just watched his goals on RedTV. Excellent work by Maguire out wide and playing in two identical perfect crosses. Vernon would have had had two shockers to not score them - but thats because he was in the right position to score both times.

Great to finally have a striker who knows how to be in the right place at the right time.

I thought he was ok today. Was in the right place at the right time for the goals and that suits me down to the ground. Worked his socks off as usual and was rewarded for his effort and endeavour.

 

Also credit where credit is due after losing half a stone through the week. I think cutting him a bit of slack would be appropriate.

Aye well the he was ill for 48 hours before the game and lost half a stone because of it I think we can let him off with being a little off the pace.
