Good result for us at Tannalice. 2-2 keeps us 3rd.

Just saw that.

Man United looked incredibly one paced and exposed by Citeh today, some appalling performers, Valencia, Young in particular performed badly and how that cunt Welbeck gets a gig is astonishing. Thing is, United looked quite poor but they could win the league. Best league in the world ma hole.

Wellbeck is honking. Sturridge is by far the best young striker England have. It's between city, chelsea and arsenal for me this year.

Man u have been weak for ages, but the presense of fergie made them punch above their weight. Moyes is a good manager though so if the board have the balls to stand by him they'll be good in a year or two.

Souness (loathe him or hate him) pointed out something interesting about Sturridge, he's been at three very big clubs and not got anywhere, not quite cut it and was allowed to leave by them all. Is there something about his attitude/application?

He's 24 now, not quite so young now either. But he's currently well ahead of Welbeck.

Statto time

The last time we went 3 years without the old firm winning the league cup was between 1953 and 1955

East Fife, Hearts & Aberdeen were the winners.

That was during a 7 year run of non old firm winners (East Fife x 2, Dundee x 2, Motherwell, Hearts, Aberdeen)

Not so...

1971-72 Partick Thistle

1972-73 Hibernian

1973-74 Dundee

Wasnt a great day for Lennon yesterday

CELTIC manager Neil Lennon was banned from driving yesterday after being found guilty of speeding at an A9 accident blackspot.

He branded the verdict “nonsense” after he was disqualified for six months under the totting-up procedure.

Lennon, 42, added: “You saw it for yourself. I do want to say something about it.”

He was then told not to make any further comment and was ushered away from Perth Sheriff Court by his lawyer.

Lennon already had nine points on his licence when he was caught speeding at 83mph in his Audi Q7 near Blackford in Perthshire on October 6 last year.

His solicitor Liam O’Donnell asked for the case to be thrown out because the Crown failed to show that the radar machine

that clocked him was accurate.

But Justice of the Peace Allan Robertson rejected the submission and found Lennon guilty of speeding on the Perth

to Stirling dual carriageway.

He said: “I have taken time to consider all the evidence before me and I believe the Crown has put forward the case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore I find you guilty.

“You were sitting on nine points and when somebody reaches that tally they should be very careful how they conduct themselves on the road.”

Lennon, from Glasgow, who sat in the dock for three hours during the trial, was also fined £260.

Mr O’Donnell had argued that Lennon should be given a shorter ban because of his job as Celtic manager.

He said: “He is the manager of a football team and requires to travel far and wide to watch games and watch players. He undertakes an enormous amount of charity work, such as dinners and golf days, and I would submit the message given by a short-term disqualification would be more appropriate for a speed such as this.

“The speed he has been convicted of is 83 miles per hour in a 70. It’s not grossly excessive.”

A month ago, Lennon was cleared of driving while using his mobile phone after a court heard police failed to check it to see if it had been used.
