tlg1903 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago We got very lucky in that game. Delighted with the win but we need to do far better retaining the ball. The number of times we just hooded it into their half was infuriating. 1 Quote
redordead Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Good three points. Great to burst their bubble. Bruising encounter though. Amazed they didn't look at that elbow. Braga should've had two clear yellows in the first ten minutes and then would've been off when the yellow eventually came. That said lazetic should've gone in the book early doors too. Ref was just poor. Thought aouchice was good today. Polvara too. Back three were solid but we still need a bit more pace wide. Despite the goal topi's awareness and decision making was really poor and milanovic is pointless as he can't beat a man or win a tackle. We need more options for when karlsson is away again. Quote
irnbru1903 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Very pleasing to win and especially being so crap and still ending their winning run. Still can't figure out what our style of play is though. Grinding out results will do I guess but not much entertainment on show. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Don’t want to be overly critical, good win. At the same time, we just don’t have a very good midfield, our lack of goals and inability to keep the ball and dominate, is clear. Obviously hearts today is tough, but it’s the same weekly. we’re definitely a square peg round hole team. Armstrong on the left, then clarkson. Thought aouchiche had his best game yet today, but I just don’t think we have any central midfielders worth building around long term (not including kjarten) and little width of any real quality. no clue what we do with topi or milanovic, neither look the level of ability and consistency. Is milanovic the next McGarry?? Quote

Definitely a period of transition and figuring out who stays and who we move on. At the same time, definitely positive with character building, grinding out results, and improved defending. jack Milne and McKenna should be starting central pairing next June! Quote
Elgindon Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Thought we were ok first half, didnt keep it up second and allowed them to squander a few chances. We had good phases of play though, and we were pretty aggresive across the pitch for most of the game. Top Dons - Knoester,Milne,Armstrong.Aouchiche.Topi seemed to be up for it too,had good and bad spells throughout the game again. Always nice to beat that lot though..... TheDonbytheDee Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Just in A really shit game, but a fantastic three points and that's what today was all about. I truly hate the gorgie minks and love that it's the club from Scotlands premier City that has well and truly bust their bubble. 1 Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago The highlights up on the big screen today, before kick off, was the Aberdeen 6 Hearts 2 game from 1992. It was a truly wonderful match and just how good was Duncan Shearer. 1 Quote
Jormungandr Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Actually reckon some of the comments so far are on the harsh side; I thought we had some really nice play at times in the game. Maybe a bit lucky at times but we're due some of that. Far, far better than that diabolical display against Motherwell. Got Joy Division in my head, for some reason 1 Quote
Goldie03 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I'm so chuffed we ended their unbeaten run and more importantly got 3 points Cannot wait to go into the office on Tuesday now haha 2 Quote
The.Moog Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Excellent win, the effort and application were spot on so credit for that to all. Real shades of the Killie game there today though. First half we were decent, second half was a bit of a no show - again. The defence is much more solid than earlier in the season, but fuck me, we’re still massively vulnerable to balls over the top and set pieces into the box. saw this scenario several tines. Mitov goal kick goes straight to their defender, no challenge, free header back over the top we didn’t deal with well and they had a chance & attempt on goal. Happened 3 or 4 times. Rode our luck there. Mitov coming for that ball and getting nowhere near it again - he needs to cut that crap out. Midfield put in a shift, Aouchiche especially, though Polvara and especially Armstrong were decent. Lazetic did ok, would like to see a bit more from him though. I get we’re trying to be hard to beat, but this sitting back stuff (like Killie) does my head in. We should not be getting dominated at home like we were second half. JT goes on about transitions and how important they are, well Jimmy, yer nae gonna do much in transition if your players are just gonna constantly hoof it back to the opposition every time they pick it up in our half. Need to sort that out. Still, it’s always great to beat that mob and their deluded minker fans, so very happy tonight, though lots of work still to be done… Quote

Almost another game I am pissed off at the end. Second half again was just wave upon wave to an extent. Hoof up the part and another attack. No clue what we practice in training…? Good defending practice again but we got lucky. Quote

Thought Aouchiche should have scored in the first half (their miss was even worse). Quote
Don Julio Posted 53 minutes ago Report Posted 53 minutes ago We had folks round for lunch so had to go dark and then watch as live on RedTV. I know it wasn’t pretty and we exercised very little control, but i loved that. We fought and won against the league leaders . I’ll take that. thought the back 3 were generally excellent. Quote
RicoS321 Posted 5 minutes ago Report Posted 5 minutes ago A good performance, without a standout player. Everyone worked hard, and we were disciplined throughout, generally speaking. I'd probably give Armstrong the man of the match for us, as he was the one that seemed most assured. Jensen was good too, and the back three and keeper each had a dodgy moment, but survived. Midfield worked hard, and closed the spaces very well, but Polvara got caught in possession too many times, and both were weak in the tackle. They were a decent team, but with the spine of their side missing, didn't really cause us many issues. It didn't feel like we were one ahead playing against the top side in the league. There are several sides in this league that will beat them with those players, or equivalent, missing. A deserved victory for the first half certainly. The subs were an abomination again. It felt like a preseason friendly, with half the team changed in the space of five minutes. It was unfair on the players coming on, as well as being high risk. The subs should have started around the hour mark, when players (Lobban, Polvara, Lazetic) began to fail. We looked all over the shop, unsurprisingly, with Clarkson especially looking bamboozled playing on the left fucking wing (almost like he's attempting to teach him a lesson, or just generally alienate him). Anyway, a very good win, and another clean sheet. Quote
