It is true that all the Scotland games against Brazil have been memorable for one reason or another. Opening the tournament against them in '98, Murdo Macleod taking one for the team in 1990, Dave Narey's wonder goal in '82.

I was at all 3 of the above seems the better Scotland were the heavier the defeat.

Well, that compares favourably to '98 ... Brazil 1, Norway 7,Morocco 13, Scotland 41, ..... which I only recently discovered - which kinda mitigates the idea that our '98 WC was a 'failure'.

To put it in a funny sort o' perspective, if these placings are mapped onto the Scottish League, Brazil would be Prem champions, Norway best of the bottom six, Morocco Championship toppers ..... and Scotland 2nd bottom of the 2nd Div! 

A win and a draw next year, and a historical first progression out of the group stages is surely achievable ... but it's Scotland! ... so fuck knows

Didn’t realize Norway were 7th in the world at the time!

italia 90 we lost to Costa Rica in the opener, similar situation here, hopefully we put up a better performance. A good start to the tournie will do us wonders. 
haiti’s keeper plays for aek athens, midfielder at wolves, winger at inter Miami. Looks like their top forward plays in the Persian league but played on loan at st mirren in 2019. 

Really intrigued by our mindset, qualifying was not great performances, and the last two euros were piss poor. Hopefully we can come out flying!

I certainly think I’m in the minority but hoping a midfield of a healthy doak Ferguson mctominnay gilmour and Harvey Barnes do the business.

A youthful Gordon in goal, back 4 of hickey Milne McKenna Robertson, and I do think if we have doak and Barnes either shankland or dykes at 9. Maybe Bowie has a killer 6 months and comes into the World Cup as europe’s form striker!

First two games in Boston/Foxborough and the third one in Miami. 2am kick off for the first one and 11pm for the other two. Rubbish times. Worse world cup than Qatar for TV watching.

Great for me, 9pm, 6pm, and 6pm. Impossible to please everyone. To be honest, 9pm and 6pm in Boston shouldn’t be too hot, mid June is not hot hot either there, probably in the 70s which is ok. Miami will certainly be warmer.

So, who's all going?  I'm booked up for ten days in Boston and it's not cost me as much as I feared it would.  Return flights and accomodation coming in about 2k for a ten day stay though nothing fancy accom wise.  Just need to get tickets for Haiti and Morocco now

Yeah I'm gonna go to one game (that's all I'll get off, because rather rudely I'm expected to work during the World Cup).

Accommodation is booked with free cancellation in both Boston and Miami - actually some decent deals. Flights are a bit pricey but haven't pressed the trigger on any yet. Still deciding which game to go to.

So how do you boys get tickets? Will try for the Brazil game, only a 4 hr drive. ticket lottery opens up December 15.

Going to put in for the lottery and see what happens basically.  No idea what the odds will be but the stadium holds 65k and with Haiti on the US travel ban you would think the chances of a brief are reasonable.  Morocco are a bit of an unknown in terms of how many they will bring but, again, given stadium size chances of a brief are hopefully reasonable.

I’ve coached a ton of Haitians in Florida, travel ban won’t affect things, they’ll have fans. But certainly not as popular as Brazil and a lesser extent Morocco. Was actually hoping for that one to be played in Miami.

I am in the supprters club and should have enough loyalty points to get from SFA allocation. 

Still trying to decide on if I will head to two in Boston or one in Miami.

Touch and go for a supporters club ticket - I'm on 13 points. I usually go to at least one away game per campaign which helps, but I've not been to one for 18 months - so my points have dropped.
