Panda Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 I'll be in a minority that's glad it's Celtic we're playing in the final. The 2017 final still rankles. We should have done it that day. Shay Logan standing off Stuart Armstrong and letting him hit that equaliser in a half when Celtic offered little. The Jonny Hayes - Kenny McLean mix up that should have given us a second (and to this day I still don't know who to blame). Beat them on 24 May, win the cup, end a 35-year wait, and do it against a seemingly unstoppable side going for yet another treble. It would be beautiful and would finally put 2017 to bed. Tickets I don't actually think we'll sell 21,000. Too many just can't be arsed with what they think (wrongly) will be another defeat to Celtic. So 19,000 probably would do us. However, it's important that Aberdeen fight for half of the North stand. The way the noise projects around Hampden, you can barely hear the fans behind the goal when you're at the other end. Give us half the north, the west stand, and the lower deck of the south. That's about 19,000 tickets - if we sell out, then give us the rest. That's the first fight we need to win long before we get to Hampden. 2 Quote
RicoS321 Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 We should be fighting for the east stand. Fuck this shite of having your own end at a neutral venue. Anyway, I'll feel obliged to go, and will. 1 Quote

I am one of those who will look at cost of tickets and our record against the financially doped Victims and decide on a day in the pub. 1 Quote

We need to kick up a fuss about it, whilst knowing that the west stand is fine. Quote
wee toon red Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 I reckon they’ll start with a potential 50/50 split but pretty quickly claw “our” tickets back for them when it’s clear we won’t sell out (which we won’t). I’ll be there and i’ll be taking my eldest because imagine winning and not being there… and she’s now the age I was the last time we did win it (and I wasn’t there that time) so no option but to go really. She also enjoyed yesterday and, strangely, the league cup semi as well so potential defeat won’t put her off. Quote

Honestly Jute, the number of times you say things like this and then cave when the horizon comes a bit closer. Not having a pop at you buddy, it just always makes me chuckle when you take this stance. 1 Quote

The principle of this is fine, and I was going to wear red anyway, but I can just see some of their members turning into the colours police and getting arsey with folks that decline this invitation. To me they defo have a a subsection that has a "we're better fans than thou" kinda attitude and those folks can go fuck themselves quite frankly. Quote

You are usually right to suspect my lack of will power but on this occasion when it’s a mixture of likely defeat and massively overpriced tickets I usually don’t go. Didn’t attend last league cup final due to ticket price and suspect it will be at least £40 ticket this time again. Not paying that to watch Scottish football. 1 Quote
BigAl Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Final Aberdeen v Celtic Saturday 24th May, 3pm kick-off Hampden Park, Glasgow We can confirm that an allocation of over 20,000 tickets has been secured for Aberdeen supporters for our forthcoming Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Final with Celtic. This will be the largest allocation we have received for a final in recent years and was only secured after agreeing to underwrite the cost of any unsold tickets. After extensive discussions, we were initially faced with the option of accepting a guaranteed 16,800 tickets, with a potential (but not guaranteed) additional 2,000 tickets. However, driven by our collective belief and confidence in the Red Army, and wanting to give every Dons supporter the best opportunity of being there to back Jimmy and the team on Saturday 24th May at Hampden, we agreed to underwrite a larger allocation which includes the North Stand up to the halfway line. We believe this significant allocation is a testament to our commitment to ensuring as many fans as possible can support the team at this crucial match, our first Scottish Cup Final since 2017. Ahead of the League Cup Final with Rangers in 2023, which was our last final at Hampden, our allocation sold out within a matter of hours, and we expect demand to be similar this time round as we look to bring the Scottish Cup back to Aberdeen for the first time since 1990. With the above in mind, we advise all Dons supporters to use the coming days to organise friends and family to be ready to secure your tickets on Monday 5th May, as we aim to make history together. manc_don Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Bold but right move for the club. Good on them, hopefully we can shift as many of those 20k tickets as possible! 1 Quote

Agree it is a bold move by the club, but I think it is the right one and i also think we can sell this out, particularly if we keep our current unbeaten run going. The added bonus is that of course it is going to piss off Timothy Quote
