  1. Cant agree with the first part, he has been superb in centre midfield for us, the second part however is true but I think that will only happen again if we sign a new CM or if O'Connor gets pushed up to midfield.
  2. Yeah I think if Wright is just going to sit on the fringes of our first team then a loan deal, especially at a club like Caley, would be good for him. Also if the murmurs about us still looking at Greg Tansey are true then playing a little bit of ball with Caley could be good in the long run.
  3. Looks like we have knocked back a loan approach from Caley for Scott Wright.
  4. There was a video up of Storie and McLean but literally if you blinked, you would have missed it. I spotted the link to it on Twitter but by the time I clicked it on it, it had been removed .
  5. Cheers for the info chaps. Perhaps my own ignorance and being ill informed on the situation of funding at the club has dampened my opinion on the matter. I promise, I will try harder to quietly voice my unrest on it in the future
  6. As I said, my view is not one commonly shared among fans, maybe I expect too much.
  7. Ok my mistake. But he is the man in charge of the financials, yeah??
  8. I am not saying go out and splash millions of pounds, far from it. I agree with what has been said already, we are 2, maybe 3 players away from having a cracking squad but those 2 or 3 players need to be ones who can make a real difference, especially in central midfield. But could we get that sort of player in loan deal of a free transfer, I am not so sure. I dont think it is unfair to make the slightest suggestion that the clubs owner put a little but of cash into a transfer kitty, maybe he has, maybe McInnes is waiting for deadline day again to try and get the targets he wants on the best possible deal he can get.
  9. Yeah the money situation puzzles me, as you say, £250k was available for Tansey in January, where is it?? The bottom line for me though is Stuart Milne. It is not a view that a lot of Dons fans share with me but the way I see it is that Mr Milne is a Millionaire, probably a multi Millionaire, would it really hurt him to personally hand McInnes say around £500k to bring a couple of players?? Milne owns a debt free club, the club is paying for itself and we are making a profit, that we know of, surely Milne could get his cheque book out??
  10. Maybe my comments on Pawlett are a tad harsh, some Dons fans seem to think he played well, I personally think he played well for about 10-15 minutes in the first half and then drifted out of the game.
  11. Another game where we controlled the play but failed to really create a worthy goal scoring chance. Only real positives to take was that O'Connor played really well I thought, he certainly bailed Taylor out a few times. Jack I also thought had another decent game. The substitutions were a strange one, McLean at the moment is really not playing well and it is clear to everyone that the centre midfield operates better when he is not in it, so why McInnes put him on in CM was a strange one. Burns looked decent as did Storey when he came on. Rooney never really did much but again the lack of decent service was shocking. Our crossing was atrocious. How Pawlett was named MOTM I will never know, he had a decent opening 10 minutes and was then a spectator. In fact I had actually forgotten he was even on the pitch until he made a run in the second half and then it was clear he was breathing out his.. Maybe Pawlett is leaving and that is why, other than that it was a decision that totally baffled me. In fact, Pawlett starting the game baffled me.
  12. I really hope we at least get a CM player in and not some loan player form down south, actually part with some cash and get a player that will actually make a difference to the squad. I think the lad O'Connor could do a good job in the holding midfield role but then we would lose him out of the defence.
  13. The main focus areas have to be CM and CB. McLean is just not a CM player, Shinnie playing in there just proves how poor McLean is in that position. He really should be playing up behind the striker but with Stockley, Storey and Burns all fighting for that position I think McLean would even struggle to hold that spot down. O'Connor was solid at CB yesterday in place of Taylor so it will be interesting if Taylor is back in the 1st team for the next match.
  14. He has impressed me. Personally I think he has played very well for us so far.
  15. I agree the new Pittodrie Pie is decent. It also no longer fused to the centre of the pie tin either which is a bonus.
  16. I dont know why we dont try O'Connor in the centre of midfield along side Jack. I thought Jack was superb last night, getting forward, closing the space down. With O'Connor being more defensive minded I would love to see how that pairing would work.
  17. We played really well last night and I think overall a draw was harsh on us, had we taken out chances it could have been a different story. Jack seemed to be a different player, I thought he was superb last night. It just makes me wonder if a Jack - McLean midfield pairing just does not work for us. It is certainly still an area that needs addressing. Taylor I thought played well up until the mistake and these mistakes are coming too frequently from him just no win my opinion. We need a new CB ASAP.
  18. I have always been a fan of Taylor but I agree that his mistakes are becoming a little too frequent now and maybe a spell out of the first team will do him good. I also think that he played well last night up until that bomb scare moment that cost us the away goal. It is now becoming that case with Taylor that is it not a question of 'if' he is going to make a mistake but more of 'when' he is going to make a mistake.
  19. In Hoose Merkland Hoose 2-0 The Dons, Stockley double
  20. Indeed, if we are to fork out any money for a player then the money will be on place already or Mr Milne may be willing to get his cheque book out.
  21. A few posts I have seen across Facebook and Twitter seem to indicate that Aucho did not bad. A few nice touches and passes but he seemed a little off the pace which I dont think we can hardly blame the lad for considering he had just traveled from Kenya the day before. One post even labelled him a young Barry Robson, which in truth is the type of player we need in central midfield. Time will have to tell I guess, I think there is a Aberdeen XI playing in Orkney today so he may be part of that squad too.
  22. Your are correct. Same starting line up as last Thursday. Pawlett did not even make the bench, I would say he is next oot the door.
  23. Definitely on the way it seems. https://twitter.com/bedjosessien/status/755964168969318400?lang=en
  24. The other possibility is that now he is here he could also have other clubs trying to tap him up so to speak.
