  1. Looks like this lad will arrive on Thursday, start training on Friday and possibly play in a friendly over the weekend.
  2. I hope something comes of this rumours this time. The lad seems to very highly rated back in Kenya so fingers crossed.
  3. Not a bad draw. Should we progress next week and then can get the either the defensive or midfield situation sorted by the next round I think we have a chance.
  4. First half performance was a little lackluster, we had plenty of the ball but we just couldn't break them down, McLean did have a good chance from a cross though but he just couldn't get his head on to it fully. It just felt with that starting line up that we were the away team in this tie and trying to defend some sort of advantage. Second half started the same but then McInnes pulled McLean for Stockley and that really changed the game for us. Jack seemed to become a different player and was getting involved with everything. Shinnie was also fighting for everything in the midfield. Thankfully the break through came and we then really just took the game to them and got another 2. 3 goals, 3 strikers and Storey was still on the bench! Second half was certainly a much better performance, central midfield still needs addressed as does the defence, I though Taylor was awful and could have easily of seen red for his challenge. Considine was caught flat footed several and for me should not be anywhere near LB. The attacking depth is sorted, just need to add something in midfield and at the back now please AFC.
  5. From the AFC Site: Aberdeen have completed the season long loan signing of Wes Burns from Bristol City. The winger, subject to international clearance, will go straight into the squad for tonight's Europa League game at Pittodrie against FK Ventspils. Cardiff-born Burns was included in the Wales' pre-Euro 2016 training squad and has played on 18 occasions for the Welsh U21 team, netting 6 times. Manager Derek McInnes, who worked with the 21-year-old at Ashton Gate, told afc.co.uk "I am delighted to get him. Wes is a fantastic young talent who can play right across the front line. He has got a brilliant attitude and plenty of motivation to do well with us. "I would like to thank Bristol City and Lee Johnson for their help in making the deal happen as Wes had plenty of options."
  6. Now confirmed by the club Seems it is a season long loan with Bristol City also having the option to recall him in January if they want.
  7. Evening Express reporting that Wes Burns has signed. Nothing official from the club yet. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/aberdeen-sign-forward-wes-burns-loan/
  8. In/ out: In Pre match: Home Match: Merkland (season ticket) Post matcher: Home Prediction: : 3-0 Aberdeen. Rooney x 2, Storey
  9. I thought the centre of midfield would be the top priority myself. Talk on AFC Chat Forums of Greg Stewart rumours picking up pace around Dundee. But at this moment in time I think we can label that as forum hearsay
  10. Papers reporting this morning that we are close to signing 21 year old Welsh striker Wes Burns on loan from Bristol City.
  11. I know he came on at the back against Brechin but not sure about the weekend. McInnes is always shrewd on his transfer dealings. He may say nothing is imminent but the wheels will be turning behind the scenes I am sure.
  12. Yeah I would imagine we will hang on to him as long as we are in Europe or if we sign a replacement.
  13. Willo Flood again being linked with Dundee Utd today. papers claiming he could be a Utd player by the end of this week.
  14. Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing him leave to be honest. Seen a couple of posts from St Johnstone fans on other forums claiming we have an interest in Murray Davidson.
  15. This may come as a surprise but I read yesterday that Morris is currently....injured.
  16. No mixing my word on this one, our performance was utter garbage. I am happy we are through but that that performance was awful and and the end of the day we just handed a group of part timers their first win in European Football. Central defence and central midfield need looked at ASAP. Milne needs to crack his piggy bank open and inject some actual quality in to the side, players that will make a difference rather than just squad fillers.
  17. It may just be wishful thinking but I can see us making the move Greg Stewart.
  18. Quite liked the new Pittodrie pie, although it has not gone up in price to £2.85 I think it was. The other pies have now dropped in price below the £2 mark so it all works out ok Oh and it wasnt fused to the bottom of the pie tin either
  19. Yeah it seems he had negotiated his release from his club in Kenya. They seem to think he is headed to us on trial, so hopefully we hear something this week about it.
  20. Seems Khalid Aucho has been released by his club to come to Scotland for his trial. Be interesting to see where this lad end up.
  21. The lads had me worried for a while last night, thankfully it was all good in the end. 1st half was ok, they had a great chance to go 1-0 up but the post saved us. We then had a few chances, we then actually had the ball in the net from a set piece but the I think the linesman decided the ball had gone out before it was layed back across goal. 2nd half we up'd the tempo a bit and were creating chance after chance, I think we had another 3 goals ruled off, about 4 cleared off the line, hit the post, keeper tipped one on to the bar, you name it, we probably did it! Logan finally gives us the break through only for Fola to then spark in to life again and thanks to some horrid defending they equalized. Ryan Jack deciding rather than put a challenge in he would just back off, back off and then slip on his backside! After that Fola were still coming at us but they then just seemed to run out of steam and that allowed us to come back at them and finally after when must been around 20 shots at goal McGinn sneaked one in, the linesman again tried to flag for offside but the ref overruled him on it and rightfully so. Then in the dying minutes of extra time, one of their players handballs in the box, penalty, Rooney, 3-1. Overall I think we played ok, there was still some rust there but we pretty much dominated the match, it really was 3-1 going on 8-1. Our central midfield is still lacking that bit of punch that we need, too many times balls were being played into the middle and Jack/Flood/Mclean were missing in action. Defensively we are still a tad ropey, Taylor was beaten in the air a lot and several times either him or Considine were left in 1 on1 situations as the other was away for a wander somewhere. We also need that other option on the wings for when Hayes or McGinn get tired or are not on form, Hayes had a 15-20 minute spell toward the end where he just looked knackered but thankfully McGinn was there to keep our attacks ticking. The 2 new lads that played looked ok. Lewis never really did much wrong, seemed very commanding of his area and he let rip at the defence when Fola equalized. Stockley got himself stuck in, seems to be very similar player to Rooney but maybe a bit more pacey, he nearly scored a cracking overhead kick. It is not job done for this first round but I honestly believe we can go to Luxembourg and beat Fola.
  22. Aucho wont happen any time soon I dont think. McInnes was quoted yesterday as saying his visa could take 2-3 weeks before coming through and then the Kenyan transfer window shuts at the end of this month as well. Hayes is again being linked with Wigan and now also Rotherham. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/06/22/gb-championship-battle-for-jonny-hayes/?utm_medium=share%20service&utm_campaign=social%20media&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCdeadlineday
