  1. Shinnie, Considine, O'Connor, Logan, Taylor. Everyone of them should be ahead of Jack for the captaincy IMO.
  2. Yeah Logan-O'Connor-Considine-Shinnie is our best back 4 IMO. Although in terms of Considine I think he is just marginally the best out of himself, Taylor and Reynolds. Considine has an excellent work rate and has done a great shift at LB but if we were to source a better CB in January or the summer then he would be the one to make way.
  3. I think he should come back in but I think Shinnie should keep the armband.
  4. Ross Draper would be a good signing IMO. I think he is more of the type of player we need. That said if we signed Tansey or Davidson I wouldn't be disappointed. In terms of players out, Pawlett, Morris, Taylor and maybe even McGinn. Heard a rumour that McGinn is attracting interest from south of the border so could be another case of will he or wont he.
  5. I am not sure I want McInnes to leave but I am starting to worry that he has hit his high point tactically, as in he has no real idea what to try next. His tinkering hasn't worked, trying to shoe horn players in to a squad even it means sacrificing that player in their best natural position. Get Taylor out of the squad, tuck Considine back into the centre and get Shinnie in at LB where he should be. I would just like us to play the players in their best positions, even if that means having to bleed through a few youngsters to do so. I hope in January that McInnes will be allowed to dip in to the market, we need 1, if not 2 central midfield players in the door ASAP. McInnes isnt going anywhere anytime soon but if he were to depart then Tommy Wright would be top of my wish list for sure.
  6. It does worry me when Milne says that we will struggle to plug the funding gap and that we may need to place a long term mortgage on the new stadium. I am sure the yearly payments on a mortgage of that size will be far greater than what we are currently turning over in profit at the moment, giving the sobering realization that the new stadium could delve the club back in to the red. The training facilities are a must and thankfully Mr Milne seems to think we will raise the £10million required for that with no issues. I remember my Dad went to a Black & Gold meeting earlier in the year and the question was posed to Mr Milne about redeveloping Pittodrie to which he replied that it would 'too expensive' to do so. Personally I am all for the new stadium but I dont want it at the expense of the clubs current financial position.
  7. I would be starting Stockley over Rooney at this moment. In previous seasons, Rooney used to really get stuck in, he would chase defenders down, hold up the play, win headers from long balls etc. This season though that part of his game seems to have vanished. Not sure if he is just off the boil are just not able to give the same effort he used to. I would like to see a Stockley/Storey partnership up top.
  8. That was an absolute shambles, not sure if Aberdeen though they were turning up to a kick about session as they certainly never turned up to play in a cup final! The team selection was questionable and the tactics were all over the place, I mean where was Shinnie playing, central mid, the wing, upfront?!? Taylor back in the line up?!? Surely it would have been better to put Shinnie in at left back and put Considine into the centre??? Tactically we were an absolute shambles, there is no easy way to put it. Once again rather than getting stuck in to Celtic, we backed off, gave all the time in the world to play football and got punished for it. Why on earth we continue to show them so much respect is beyond me, there are not a team of in-humans! Jack and McLean bossed about in the midfield yet again, cant fault McLean too much as he shouldn't be in there with Jack, hes far better suited playing off the striker and if McInnes want to keep him as a starter then thats where he needs to be. The gap in our central midfield once again was exploted, too many times did Scott Brown get the ball and was allowed to stroll his was into our half. The only player I saw go through him was O'Connor, maybe he should be playing in midfield! Rooney was spending more time drifting out to the wing and trying to flick balls on to absolutely nobody. Hayes who should have been on the wing was AWOL. Maddison had a few good touches, tried to get the crowd going but he gets brushed off the ball too easily and sometimes he just tried that one touch too many when he should pass the ball off instead. End of the day, the players did not take to that pitch yesterday like they were in a cup final and thats what really disappoints me. If we had turned up, played well but simply lost to a better side then that would be easier to take but when you dont even turn up and just roll over with minimal effort then that pisses me off.
  9. I doubt there is any truth in but if there was any it would not surprise me. It was always going to be a matter of time before he attracted attention from other clubs, if he hasn't done so already. I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of the names in line for the Scotland job if Strachan does leave.
  10. I am not saying McInnes is a bad manager, I am not saying he should get the bullet but like all managers in football he makes mistakes and I think our set up on Saturday was one of them. What frustrates me most about the game on Saturday is that I honestly believe that had we had a more positive approach and actually asked questions of Celtic from kick off, we could have got something out of that game even if it was only a point.
  11. The starting line up and tactics were terrible from McInnes. No way should we ever set up like that against any team in Scottish Football at Pittodrie, ever. Dont think I have seen a manager pull that out of the bag since Craig Levein did it with Scotland away to the Czech Republic I think it was. It was only when Maddison came on that we then actually looked like we were causing Celtic any problems, that is how we should have set up from the start.
  12. Joe Lewis has been very impressive so far this season. Big, commanding, handles well and is a good shot stopper. Even against Ross County one thing that stood out for me, just before half time McGinn hesitated on a clearance and as soon as the half time whistle blew, Lewis was right over to McGinn giving him the what for. That is the kind of keeper we have needed for a long time.
  13. I would love Maddison to stay but I very much doubt that we will be able to keep him. You never know though, if he was to be going back to Norwich to warm the bench or not even break into the first team then surely it would be more beneficial to have him stay with us until the end of the season.
  14. Poor result. Poor performance. Nothing else to say really. Same old stuff from McInnes. Squad and tactics need a little bit of a shake up.
  15. James Maddison rumours gathering pace. P&J saying there will be no move for Tansey.
  16. Seems Caley fans reckon we could be chasing Draper and Tansey. Would happily take both of them.
  17. Some of it could be, this is football, stranger things have happened
  18. Think that chap is getting his info from over on AFC Chat, they seem to be going a bit crazy in the rumour mill section over there lol.
  19. The rumour started on AFC Chat by the looks of it, a couple of news sites reporting it now. One lad on Twitter is suggesting we will bid £200k for him. Not sure I would read much in to that.
  20. McInnes in the papers today saying he would like to bring in a midfielder and can ask the board for the funds if he feels he can get the right player. Basically admits his transfer budget is gone but has been told extra funds available if he needs it. Jamie Ness is the latest rumour.
  21. Central Midfield is a huge issue and I honestly cant understand why McInnes keeps playing Kenny McLean in there, you be as well start the game with 10 men. I really hope McInnes has some form of budget left to try and get this position sorted before the window shuts. In an ideal world we would get a new CB to play alongside O'Connor but that wont happen. Heck we may have to try Morris in there when he is fit. When the Euro games started and we were playing with two up front I was optimistic for this season, I could see an attempt to mix or style of play up and it seemed to be working. Since the League campaign has got going we have reverted back into the same old formation and tactics from last season and teams know how to shut us out when we play like that. I am frustrated because we 2 or 3 players from having a really good squad but not 2 or 3 loan players or free transfers, 2 or 3 players where we need to spend money, money we dont and probably wont have.
  22. I think the Mulgrew murmur was just hot air, I dont think he will be rejoining us. The worrying thing coming in to the business end of this window is that the rumours of possible signings have all dried up, there is no real talk of anyone joining.
  23. Big blow for us at the moment. As you say, Jack looked very impressive the past few games and its showed how much we missed him against Partick. Surely we have to get a new CM in now??
  24. I am not disputing that Shinnie's best position in LB. At the same time however I would rather have Shinnie - Jack at CM than McLean - Jack. Crag Storie should probably be getting a chance alongside Jack, that or when Morris is fit, he goes in to defence and O'Connor gets pushed up. Or we do what we really need to do and sign a bloody CM
