  1. According to the Daily Record - via the BBC Gossip column as no way am I reading or clicking on that rag - we've had a youth team graduate in every line-up since 1947. Am I the only one who was totally ignorant of that? "Line-up" could suggest that subs would be included but the excerpt on the page suggested that Campbell starting last week against the Huns kept the run going. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59160812
  2. Obligatory soft home penalty. Cunts.
  3. The only major mistake he’s made so far is appointing Glass. If he rectifies that sooner rather than later then he can stay.
  4. Glass out.
  5. Well, that was shite
  6. They won 17-11 in 2016, which is miles in the context of the Ryder Cup and I'll be very pleasantly surprised if it isn't similar this time. Europe might manage to make a game of it over the first two days but I can't see any way the Yanks don't romp the singles.
  7. Yanks to win by miles. I know folk say that almost every time but I think this year is a step too far for Poulter, Westwood and Garcia. The only thing that gives a bit of hope is that it's clear that a few big name members of the US team clearly don't care about the Ryder Cup.
  8. So the strategic review of the SPFL that Cormack has alluded to in interviews recently has been formally announced, led by the Dons, the Edinburgh and the Dundee clubs. https://www.afc.co.uk/2021/09/14/spfl-member-clubs-invest-in-independent-advice-on-strategic-review/ Be interesting to see where this goes - the American influence on it is undeniable and if anyone knows how to sell a sport then it's the yanks. How the outcome, expected in six months, is received by Doncaster, the SPFL and the filth will be telling. Doncaster has apparently given his backing to the review but the cheeks' silence and lack of involvement is perhaps notable.
  9. Clarke said he'd tried to get a couple of players into the squad before McGinn but that it hadn't been possible, so you have to wonder if Ramsay was one of them.
  10. Odd goings on with Livi today. Over and above Anderson's illness, two more were spewing at half time and one wasn't allowed to play before the game due to concern over a blood test. Anderson taken to hospital but hopefully bounces back quickly.
  11. Longstaff is confirmed and is surely Ferguson's replacement for the season?
  12. Rumour is the other striker we're looking at is also a loan, Kieron Bowie from Fulham. Scored loads for Raith and Fulham's youth team...
  13. The US transfer window is shut so the Atlanta idea, which would brilliantly get it right up all of Scottish football, probably isn't a goer.
  14. Fuck drawing a big name just to get knocked out. Give me shotts bon accord in the qualifiers, Lapland in the groups and San Marino in the final please. You enter competitions to win them, not to play against “fancy” teams.
  15. I see the Tims have signed Joe Hart and James McCarthy. Lots of experience there but I reckon that's two players who are on the way down and have expensive failure written all over them.
  16. I'd tread carefully with that. I'm not convinced, for example, that a medium really is a 40-42 inch chest. 38-40 at an absolute push.
  17. Cormack and Simmie announced the statue live on Twitter from the Ullevi and said it would be that image.
  18. A statue of Fergie is going up at Pittodrie, the first in a series they club say they've got planned. https://www.afc.co.uk/2021/07/29/afc-to-commission-statue-honouring-sir-alex-ferguson/?fbclid=IwAR1Uwktvn0xlmlp82nSeMNsmj0axwckpJsBvogv0Kf1njvRt20Lp95RcX20
  19. Glass has said he won't be rotating the team in case the players take it as a sign of complacency.
  20. New head of recruitment, Darren Mowbray: https://www.afc.co.uk/2021/07/27/dons-appoint-head-of-recruitment/
  21. Gilhaus and Nicholas were some pair for the six months they played together.
  22. Please copy and paste the most up to date list and dont use the quote function otherwise names will go missing. Rules: 1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served! 2. Only allowed to change prediction until closure of January transfer window as along as it is to an empty tally. 114 100 90 80 79 78 77 76 75 74 73 72 71 70 69 68 67 66 65 64 - MBT 63 62 61 60 - Wee Toon Red 59 58 - RedStarTorphins 57 56 55 54 53 - Tom_Widdows 52 51 50 49 48 47 46 45 44 43 42 41 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 22 21 20 -------
  23. Anyone watch tonight's Q&A? Doesn't sound like we're after too many more players, although I have a feeling Glass was playing his cards quite close to his chest regarding transfers.
  24. At a guess McGinn will be viewed as a striker this year if we're playing a 4-3-3, so that's Ramirez, Jet, McGinn and Ruth. We unquestionably need a centre back and a winger and I'd also argue a left back but I suppose Consi and Hayes can cover there. I'd be surprised to see much activity beyond that unless a couple of players are sold, with Ferguson being the prime candidate for that and likely needing replaced if/when he goes. Lewis, Woods Ramsay, Gurr McRorie, Devlin, Gallagher, Considine, ONE TO COME IN MacKenzie, Hayes Brown, Ferguson, Jenks, Campbell, McGeouch, Ojo Kennedy, Hedges, McLennan, ONE TO COME IN Ramirez, JET, McGinn, Ruth That's a 25 man squad, with other youngsters like Ngwenya, Duncan and Virtanen on the fringes.
  25. With a centre back, centre mid and centre forward now signed, that’s the spine of the team in place so I don’t expect too many more signings. maybe another centre back and a wide player and that’ll be that, especially given there are a lot of noises about youth being given a chance this season.
