Bavidge away back to Caley for the season. Jimmy says it’ll be reviewed in Jan and that they had a good look at him during pre-season and feel he needs regular games.

Definitely. My daughter's birthday isn't until October but she's desperate for a Dons top with her name on the back. She absolutely loved the 3rd kit when she saw it so, expecting high demand, I've ordered her one. However, that the best part of £70 sitting in a drawer for nearly three months and it'll only have a lifespan of about nine months once she gets it. But then again, as long as mugs like me keep doing that then there's no incentive for clubs and manufacturers to change their ways.

Club have announced that Richard Jensen is away. No mention of a destination so assume it’s one of those mutual termination things. https://www.afc.co.uk/2025/07/31/richard-jensen-departs-the-dons/

Isn't Umbro just rebadged Castore these days? If so, they can gtf. I quite like Hummel, there's a proper continental 80s/90s look to their stuff which appeals to the old bastard in me. Macron could be ok, some of their Scotland egg chasing tops have been decent of late. I wouldn't be going anywhere near Joma, I reckon they consistently put out the worst looking tops in the country.

While I take your point about wanting an established goal scorer, those don’t come cheap, so we might not have much option beyond another “project” player. Miovski had scored 8 career goals by the time he was Lazetic’s age so not exactly prolific.
-
Can’t have too many good players I suppose but unless we’re playing three at the back more often this feels like one too many centre backs.
-
Dante seems like a good guy and appears to be popular with the club and his team mates but if he was going to be a key player for us then he’d be a regular by now rather than a perma sub. Maybe one of those who in an ideal world you’d keep in your squad but in reality he’s one of the most dispensable.

Kelty Hearts are our league 1 club. Surprised it isn’t one of the north east clubs.
-
Elgin announced as our first partner club. Strong suggestion that we’ll be pairing up with club(s) at other levels too.
-
Defensive minded midfielder? Given we also announced today that we’re scrapping our u19 team then he’s got to have been signed for the first team despite only being 18. Promising.
-
No to all on the grounds of a mix of age, wage and ability.
-
I'm undecided as yet (which probably means I'll have ordered it by lunchtime). I don't mind the polo shirt effect, plenty of nice strips had collars back in the good old days (90s). The rest of the design is just a bit boring and I'm really not sure about maroon: when Fergie's Gothenburg jacket is being used to justify it then marketing are definitely reaching.

Seems to be popular, queue to get into the shop section on the club website.

Miovski isn't worth (to us) the money it would take to get him, let alone what he'd be looking for in wages. Even at a modest £10k per week you'd be looking at money that could and should be used to strengthen the entire squad rather than spent on one player. Fair enough if a no9 was the only missing link between us and winning the league but that's hardly the case. I've said it before but finding the next Miovski is the job, not bringing the old one back. Sorry to be the boring realis

Really keen to find out who the Arabs have in the Europa League but for the life of me I can’t find it… anyone able to shed any light on the situation for me?

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/aberdeen-overhaul-transfer-department-club-35335894 Might be of more relevance for future transfer windows but looks like a few additions on the scouting side.
-
The recruitment team's job is to find the next Miovski, not bring the old one back. No easy task of course but that's the way it is and, I'd argue, should be.
-
8 goals in 18 games since January apparently? That's not too shabby but can't say his name or performances stood out so I'm filing him under "nothing to worry about".

Scottish Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic - 24/05
wee toon red replied to Panda's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Haven’t posted about Saturday until now as I don’t think I could get my head around it. An incredible day with an incredible performance by the entire team. And a tactical masterclass from Jimmy. It was clear from the start that the plan was to sit in and deny them space in the final third and other than one lucky break it worked a treat. The subs were spot on and totally changed the flow of the game, to the extent where we created the better chances in extra time. The composure of the boys on the penalties was first class and what can you say about Mitov? Absolutely brilliant gesture from him at the end of the lap of honour, giving his gloves to a young lad who had a flag with Mitov’s name on it on show all afternoon. A hero amongst heroes. I was just about to turn 10 in 1990 and Saturday was my 10yo’s first cup final, which really did make the day even more special. I’ve warned her she might be approaching middle age by the next time we win one but let’s hope not! -
Couldn’t get a game at Killie, but then he couldn’t get a game with us under McInnes either so maybe not the best barometer.
-
Our squad on Saturday (19 players) was one shy of being compliant with the euro rules. Despite losing Nisbet, Doohan and MacKenzie there should still be loads of room to meet the rules quite comfortably if some of the young guys who were on loan this year make the first 25 names for next season so I wouldn’t be too worried about that when it comes to signings.
-
You have to wonder if we even tried to keep MacKenzie, or at least told him he wouldn't be first choice. Surely if he thought he was going to get a game for us then Plymouth and League 1 wouldn't have been where he chose to go instead?
-
The squad has a sense of picking anyone who might be available. As @RicoS321says, three right backs is pretty mental. Although there are also three left backs - Doig, Robertson and Tierney.
