Anyone watch tonight's Q&A? Doesn't sound like we're after too many more players, although I have a feeling Glass was playing his cards quite close to his chest regarding transfers.
-
At a guess McGinn will be viewed as a striker this year if we're playing a 4-3-3, so that's Ramirez, Jet, McGinn and Ruth. We unquestionably need a centre back and a winger and I'd also argue a left back but I suppose Consi and Hayes can cover there. I'd be surprised to see much activity beyond that unless a couple of players are sold, with Ferguson being the prime candidate for that and likely needing replaced if/when he goes. Lewis, Woods Ramsay, Gurr McRorie, Devlin, Gallagher, Considine, ONE TO COME IN MacKenzie, Hayes Brown, Ferguson, Jenks, Campbell, McGeouch, Ojo Kennedy, Hedges, McLennan, ONE TO COME IN Ramirez, JET, McGinn, Ruth That's a 25 man squad, with other youngsters like Ngwenya, Duncan and Virtanen on the fringes.

With a centre back, centre mid and centre forward now signed, that’s the spine of the team in place so I don’t expect too many more signings. maybe another centre back and a wide player and that’ll be that, especially given there are a lot of noises about youth being given a chance this season.
-
I think our players raised their game against England but didn't get anywhere near the same level last night. And Croatia's midfield is much better than England's. I agree with those who say the Czech game was our big chance and, unfortunately, we screwed that up. A relatively young team will hopefully have learned a lot, although we'll always struggle until we find someone who can put the ball in the net.

I’m not sure that waiving a player is exactly the same as freeing them? Clubs have 48 hours to claim a waived player, then he becomes available to any MLS club but I don’t know if that’s the same as being available free to any club in the world. Either way, they clearly don’t want him so maybe if he isn’t picked up on a waiver they’re allowed to loan him out or something?
-
And that is Milne’s appalling legacy: when the chance was there to change the rules he sided with Celtic and the ball was burst.
-
As things stand we’ve zero strikers, so I don’t any need to panic about signing JET. until we see the rest of the forwards we won’t know if he’s meant to be the best of them or a backup option.
-
Gallagher pre-contract confirmed. Two year deal.
-
Fuck sake, last kick of the ball!!!
-
Gooooal!
-
The goal is worth seeing but that’s probably about it.

Good interview with the big guy despite Paul Slane... A bit Scotland-centric but Consi comes across really well.

Aberdeen FC Player of the Year 2020/21
wee toon red replied to DonsTalk Admin's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Hedges. Closest thing to a footballer we’ve had all season. Honorable mention for Hoban but it should take something special for defenders to win player of the year and no Dons have been special this year. -
Genuinely the worst thing about this whole affair is the “aberdeen way” that cormack has invented for the purposes of today’s press release ?
-
Gallagher's contract initially ran until the end of January, the extension was until the end of the season. He'd be a very good signing for us, especially on a free.
-
When your striking options are Griffiths (unfit, not playing), McBurnie (shite), Dykes (might be shite, dropped by QPR, doesn't score goals), Shankland (average Scottish Premiership striker), Nisbet (see Shankland), then I think desperation isn't a surprise.
-
There's a massive Brexity hole in the middle of your foreign proposal...

https://planetradio.co.uk/northsound/local/news/aberdeen-fan-listed-for-managers-job/ And the real Ross Nicholson's wiki I linked to earlier has been restored ?
-
If there's any truth to that whatsoever - and given where it's been published that certainly isn't guaranteed - then you'd think an announcement would have to be happening reasonably soon. I'd quite like an American manager. Their successful sports people have a very positive attitude and if we're going down the Atlanta tie-in route then why not go the whole hog?
-
I don't think we can rely on much on that wiki link. He was a keeper, which 100% guarantees he didn't play for Scotland once never mind 13 times, and the claim that he made 16 appearances for the Dons up to 1992 has to be ropey given that he was only born in 1975. I think we'd remember a 16/17yo playing that many games. I think whoever's quoting odds on him for the job is approaching Yerda Sellsavon territory.

This guy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Nicholson
-
Couple of tremendous saves from Theo, what a keeper he was. Some of the "football" from the Dons in that clip is outrageously bad mind you.
-
Forcing the keeper into several good saves isn’t what you want a centre forward to be doing really, they’re meant to beat the keeper so if he missed several chances then...

I didn’t say every club that did it was a proper club, just that all proper clubs do it ?
