  1. Our youth team would beat them and the ladies would give them a game. If the dons were to lose this game then it isn’t just a sack the manager job, it’s sack the entire workforce at the club from top to bottom.
  2. This mob are basically amateurs. We’ll hump them. Never mind a “stenhousemuir moment”, if Darvel were to beat Aberdeen it would be the biggest upset in Scottish football history.
  3. Hands up, Coyle was maybe a slightly ridiculous shout but after the failures of Glass and (so far) Goodwin, I don’t think Cormack or the rest of our board have the wherewithal to pick and up and coming manager. I’d rather we go after someone who - much like mcinnes when we got him - has a decent track record but maybe something to prove. Getting someone like that to come in and report to Gunn might be an issue right enough.
  4. Malky MacKay toxic? What about Owen Coyle if we're looking at managers in Scotland?
  5. If that was really all that was on offer then keeping Goodwin would be better. However, if Owen Coyle or Malky Mackay were in the running...
  6. Does Stewart have some qualities that you only notice when he isn’t there?!
  7. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64255149 This won’t come back to haunt us at all, no sir.
  8. Delighted for the boy. Would imagine his future lies away from the Dons but hopefully his time at Stevenage will set him up for a decent career in the game.
  9. It’s exactly this scenario where the director of football appointment should come into its own. We should be able to fire a manager and trust that the DOF will be able to oversee the January window but I’ve probably got even less confidence in Gunn than I do in goodwin.
  10. As it should be if the host club are happy to have it. If they needed the money - which I believe Darvel certainly don't - then by all means move it in order to flog more tickets but if playing at home gives them a better story and a better chance to win then they should go for it.
  11. Four players 100% developed by AFC, plus Ferguson who we must get the lion's share of the credit for. Massive credit has to go to the youth setup of the last few years for that. You've also got Christie, who obviously had a very good spell with us too.
  12. The key to containing Haaland is containing the rest of the team and in that regard I'm not particularly concerned about Norway. If Haaland scores once in each game - which, as you mention, is more or less his record - I'd back us to score at least twice anyway.
  13. Willie collum amazingly seems to get worse.
  14. Cooper seems to have been given the dreaded vote of confidence. Looks like they'll need to start winning within the next couple of games. Mental.
  15. Yon weird-looking guy at Forest looking like the next one for the chop. Taking them from bottom of the championship to the premier league not good enough apparently, even with 22 new signings to try and build into a team.
  16. Indeed, Willie also said that. “I know the club said he wanted to go home but my information is that they sent him away”.
  17. God and Michael Stewart just said on sportsound that Ramirez didn’t ask to go back to the states last season but that the club actually sent him away. Maybe that’s old news and I’ve just found out but something major would surely have to have happened to spark that.
  18. I’m pleased we didn’t go down the route of signing any old player to fill the squad and didn’t take “any” number 10 if the one we wanted wasn’t available. If we get short of centre backs and it means Milne and/or Mackenzie get a run of games then it’ll do their development no harm or, worst case, prove they’re not up to it. Far rather see our young players used as back up than stacking the squad with fillers. The same goes for Ryan Duncan, if Vinny is playing 10 then it moves Duncan up the queue for the left wing spot.
  19. He said something like “there’s two sides to every story” but has since deleted it.
  20. Ramirez tweeting some cryptic pish
  21. Jack Ross is a turnip and it's better to recognise a mistake and fix it quickly rather than let it drag on. Parker is a complete chocolate who kept slagging the players and by association the people who signed them so the owner had enough and binned him.
  22. This is where having been able to keep Consi would've been handy and it's a shame it didn't happen. A left sided centre back who can cover left back is exactly the player we're missing from the squad.
  23. That'll be Charles Dunne incoming then...
  24. Rules: 1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served! 2. Only allowed to change prediction until closure of January transfer window as along as it is to an empty tally. 114 100 90 80 79 78 77 76 75 74 73 72 71 TLG 70 69 Madbadteacher 68 67 66 65 - manc 64 63 62 61 60 - BigAl 59 58 57 56 - Wee Toon Red 55 54 53 - Tom_Widdows 52 51 50 49 48 47 46 45 44 43 42 41 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 22 21 20
