  1. In a shock move, the club have announced the signing of Livingston captain Nicky Devlin
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65668932 Devlin confirming that he's confirmed, even though it's not quite confirmed...
  3. I reckon Devlin's just the type of player we should be signing. A better player from another premier league club, within budget and can do a job. His age isn't ideal but given we need quite a few players this summer - especially in his position - then I think it's a good move. You wouldn't necessarily want a team full of "best of the rest" type players but a handful, mixed in with well scouted signing from abroad such as Duk and Miovski and promising youth of our own and I think we'd be on the right track.
  4. You're a lucky, lucky man to be old enough to have memories of those years.
  5. This went way over my head until I read about it elsewhere, but if you google the lyrics to the song Let's Get Down to Business from the movie Mulan...
  6. That was pretty quick!
  7. Livi are horrible to play against, we’ve got a team of “limited” ability in some positions - not to mention zero confidence - and a caretaker manager. A 1-0 win under those circumstances is a great result so well done to Robson and the players.
  8. Turned out he had absolutely nothing to reveal whatsoever.
  9. Richard Gordon has apparently said that he might have news on the next Dons manager when the well game is done. That gives me the absolute fear.
  10. I’m getting at Cormack having made a rip roaring cunt of the two appointments he’s made so far. He’s really got to get this one right - or leave it to Burrows - or he’ll be on a very sticky wicket himself. Rushing an appointment or effectively guessing at who he should give the job two are not going to increase the odds of him getting it right this time, and giving it to Strachan would be absolutely mental. Having a new man coming in to run the club in 9 days and appointing a manager before he gets in would be almost criminal.
  11. Operations failing and patients dying all over the place this afternoon. Mainly in defence as usual.
  12. Some absolutely incredible chat on sportsound this afternoon about our next manager. Allan Preston: why is it taking them so long? They should’ve appointed someone by now. They clearly don’t have a clue what they’re doing. God: You’re right, I think they’re scared to make an appointment. Everyone knows when it comes to picking a manager you look at the evidence, make your best guess and hope for the best. Michael Stewart: They need someone with experience and if Strachan is genuinely interested they should be snapping his hand off. Absolutely wild stuff. Not even a mention of a new chief exec starting in just over a week or anything. Complete dinosaurs making it clear why they’re all on the radio rather than coaching, managing or running clubs.
  13. And get it right up Leanne Crichton as well.
  14. On the face of it Burrows looks a great appointment. Was very good at fan engagement when he was at Well so hopefully that’ll translate to a bigger and, dare I say it, more demanding and cantankerous fanbase…
  15. I know that, this week of all weeks, we’re not exactly in a position to be laughing at anyone but wtf is this hun-ac/dc love in pish all about?!
  16. Aye, unreal. They’ve only now decided to tell him that want to see better? Nothing prior to Monday maybe made them think that might be a good idea? Fuck me. That “football monitoring board” is a joke.
  17. Gunn’s got to go as well as Goodwin, clear out of the entire “football department” needed. Imagine finally getting rid of Milne and the club getting worse
  18. Our youth team would beat them and the ladies would give them a game. If the dons were to lose this game then it isn’t just a sack the manager job, it’s sack the entire workforce at the club from top to bottom.
  19. This mob are basically amateurs. We’ll hump them. Never mind a “stenhousemuir moment”, if Darvel were to beat Aberdeen it would be the biggest upset in Scottish football history.
  20. Hands up, Coyle was maybe a slightly ridiculous shout but after the failures of Glass and (so far) Goodwin, I don’t think Cormack or the rest of our board have the wherewithal to pick and up and coming manager. I’d rather we go after someone who - much like mcinnes when we got him - has a decent track record but maybe something to prove. Getting someone like that to come in and report to Gunn might be an issue right enough.
  21. Malky MacKay toxic? What about Owen Coyle if we're looking at managers in Scotland?
  22. If that was really all that was on offer then keeping Goodwin would be better. However, if Owen Coyle or Malky Mackay were in the running...
  23. Does Stewart have some qualities that you only notice when he isn’t there?!
  24. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64255149 This won’t come back to haunt us at all, no sir.
  25. Delighted for the boy. Would imagine his future lies away from the Dons but hopefully his time at Stevenage will set him up for a decent career in the game.
