  1. Agreed though the silver lining of taking the guaranteed euro spot through the cup and the resulting hibee tears is still available.
  2. I'm really starting to grow to intensely dislike St Mirren.
  3. I'm absolutely dreading this as our record against st mirren for the past 5 years is fucking grim. We have not won at Paisley in the league since february 2020 (goals from Lewis Ferguson and Sam Cosgrove), we have attempted to get league wins there 8 times since and lost 6 times. If you Include that match and the all the matches in the league since them that is 18 fixtures of which we have won 6, drawn 4 and lost 8. I doubt any other team in the league could boast a better record against us apart from the tims. So, yeah, dreading this one. That said we are defo coming into this with a spring in our step and we are well overdue a result there. It will be interesting to see if Thelin goes with the same outfield team for an unprecedented 5th match on the bounce. Re Palaversa he's one yellow away from a 2 match ban and theres no danger hes going the rest of the seaosn without being booked.
  4. Turnbull is under contract till 2027 so I'm not sure how feasible a deal would be relegation or not. I also suspect his wages would be a big stumbling block It would be good business though, he's a great player. As for style he's a proper no 10, he's very skillful on the ball and good for a goal.
  5. This is exactly what happened with Obita yesterday. Sait before re Keskinen, the talent is there he just needs to work on his decsion making but I do think he's making progress. Thought he had a really good game yesterday from that POV
  6. Yeah i thought we played well too, first 15 minutes were a wee bit ropey, and our defensive play with any form of cross into the box remains a big concern, but, for the most part, I felt we were the team with the wind in our sails. Hibs came for a point, don't blame them for that at all and that is one of the better hibernian defences I've seen for a while....... it's not really their forte is it . Morris really couldn't get into it though I think that had a lot to do with Obita who had a great game I thought. Mcgrath was solid when he came on and kudos to him for that, you wouldn't be human if you weren't thinking about next season a wee bit if you were him but he was a complete pro and I am sad to see him leave. My man crush on Dante Polvara continues to grow as i thought he was really good when he came on but sadly another mixed report card for Palaversa. I kinda wonder if he's trying just a wee bit too hard at the moment. Some ping from Nisbet and goal of the season being rightly mentioned..... I would go a bit further 2bh and say it wouldn't look out of place in the puskas nominations. He's done well to even control the ball on the chest as it had some pace on it and then to volley it on the outside of the boot when leaning back and being hugely off balance is mightily impressive. Unfortunatley moments like that will just make him more expensive and desired elsewhere. edit: I would also add I thought Jensen had a very good game yesterday.
  7. What A Goal
  8. Though if they end up selling him for peanuts maybe we could get him back. I miss Bojan so much
  9. Ah, they had two lopes's on the bench, one with a z instead of an s though
  10. Neither of them got off the bench. Starting to worry our sell on for Miovski isn't going to be worth much
  11. Oh dear lord. The principle of this is fine, and I was going to wear red anyway, but I can just see some of their members turning into the colours police and getting arsey with folks that decline this invitation. To me they defo have a a subsection that has a "we're better fans than thou" kinda attitude and those folks can go fuck themselves quite frankly.
  12. Will you, aye? Honestly Jute, the number of times you say things like this and then cave when the horizon comes a bit closer. Not having a pop at you buddy, it just always makes me chuckle when you take this stance.
  13. Wish I could go to this one but there's still so much to do in dealing with mums estate. I'm feeling very nervous but also reasonably confident about this game. We are at home after all and whilst our record against hibs this season is poor, overall, at home, it's pretty solid. No idea how Thelin will approach it but I would be seriously tempted to start polvara in the No 10 position. Hard fought 3-1 win to end hibs unbeaten streak. Keskinen, Nisbet and Clarkson.
  14. God I miss Bojan. Was watching some of his goals for us last night and got really sad he was gone.
  15. Said it before, will say it again. Aberdeen, hearts and hibs should go to the court of arbitration for sport over this. It's the only way it will be settled.
  16. I think Beaton had already said to Devlin "one more and you're off". He certainly seemed to give him an explanation before the second yellow and it seems telling there was no protest from Devlin at all when the card was shown
  17. Jury is still out for me on Oday on game time alone. I do think he has shown a decent touch at times and he's got the right place right time instinct but I'm far from convinced he's worth spending big on. That could change in the next 6 games 2bf, he's been at the club a few months now and should be a bit more settled so let's how he does. I would absolutely keep Nisbet and will be disappointed if we don't try to but mostly agree on Okkels, Sokler and Gueye being moved on.
  18. I read a while back that the vast majority of attacks start from the fullback position so not unfair to say there is something to be said for having more defensively capable wide midfielders. Having a wide midfielder that can effectively man mark the full back can hugely stifle your opponents attacking intent and force them to play in a way they don't want to. The cost to this, of course, is that when you win possession your wide midfielder is awfully close to the fb and could struggle to find space. To counter this you basically have to embrace the flaw and instead make your fb your main attacking wide threat. The wide midfielder when on the ball should be looking to move inside more like an inside forward and allow the fb to overlap into the space left by the tracking fb then try to find them. I could see Jensen and Devlin doing this quite effectively come to think of it and there are some defo some gegenpress systems out there that employ strategies like this.
  19. Not so sure of that, if memory serves he had one moment yesterday when he took the ball in whilst closely marked and showed great first touch to take his marker completely out of the game. Time will tell but theres no danger he's not given Thelin some food for thought. Of course, bringing him on against a depleted team that is going to be really feeling it in the legs has to be taken into account but, as I said in the match thread, Polvara brought a calmness to our play that was much needed. Let's see if he can bring it again though and it will be interesting to see if he's played his way into the starting 11 against Hibs.
  20. first I've heard of it Manc but it would be a great addition.
  21. Hard to argue with that, especially about the Jensen being undroppable comment. I like him and think he's been a good addition overall but I also think theres plenty of room for him to improve. That said I am becoming concerned about Devlins lack of game time and I'm worried we will lose him for the reasons you suggest. He was obviously injured for a while but on the face of it he should have had more game time and it's disappointing Thelin hasn't been asked about it really unless I've missed that?
  22. Well. We were certainly not without flaws today and that's being kind. That said, credit has to go to hearts for completely killing the game the second half. If there's one thing we struggle against it's a low block with a packed defence but most teams do 2bf. Polvara saved us I thought. When he came on he took all freneticism out of our play. It was a bit like that episode of black books where Manny eats the little book of calm and turns all zen. He just got on the ball and started pulling strings. Some bounce when the winner went in, I totally lost it! It wasn't joy though, it was pure relief. I honestly couldn't have handled losing to those cunts today.
  23. I think the most likely way for Shinnie to be moved to the centre would be for devlin to come in at RB and Jensen to left.
  24. I dunno about anyone else but I'm still raging we bottled this game.
