  1. I think there might be something to Mcglynn 2bf but not Robinson. I actually quite like Robinson, I think he usually speaks well and he's certainly a good manager at this level. His players clearly love playing for him and it's fair to say he's managed to get a tune out of players we couldn't in Phillips and Richardson, Phillips in particular. Right now though he doesn't seem a good fit for me because it would be the first time he would be taking a team that was expected to win most of it's games. He's never done that before, nor have any managers in the Cormack era come to think of it. Even Thelin came from a club that was regarded as punching. Mcglynn on the other hand has done that in league one with aplomb and then taken that team to dominate the league above which is notoriously cuthroat the very next season. The more I think about Mcglynn getting the job the more I warm to it 2bh.
  2. Fingers crossed it's a few months to recover and he's just coming back to his best form as the season ends and he's nice and fresh for the world cup.
  3. This is my feeling too. Lutz is a complete unknown quantity and has clearly given the press absolutely hee haw. If were to offer odds I would give evens on it ending up being a candidate that hasn't even been mentioned anywhere relation to the job.
  4. My first thought when i heard the rumour was he could be good for Nisbet. My aging memory says he was quick, grafted his ass off and was generally a pain in the arse to play against everyone in the league. We all know there is a proper no 9 in Nisbet and Olusanya is the kind of player who could potentially create the space and opportunity he needs. I would be at peace with signing him 2bh (sorry Al)
  5. And no offence to you old friend but you are far too much of an addict to ever give it up and you know it . You saying this is like Jute saying he's not going to go to a game we all know he's going to but he's just not admitted it to himself yet.
  6. I thought Olusanye looked pretty handy at St mirren fwiw
  7. This pleases me. I have no beef with Cameron whatsoever and he will get my full support whilst in a red jersey despite hating the deal that brought him. I would have more time for the loan system if there was no restriction on the player playing against their parent club.
  8. My only issue with Porteous has been his poor disciplinary record, at this level though he's a very good CB and whilst it a big contributor to his poor disciplinary record I do love a nasty bastard centre half.
  9. Where did you hear that re JA prefferring Mcglynn for Hertz?
  10. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I ended up having to go to buy a car in England last minute and missed the game, I also managed to lose my phone inbetween the departure lounge and the gate so only managed to catch the last ten minutes of the game on the radio when I got close enough to enought to the border (just north of manchester I started getting 810 mw in case anyone finds themselves in the same predicament). Glad to get the win, glad to get a home tie in the next round though not an easy one by any stretch. How was the reception for Cameron?
  11. Silver lining for them is they will get plenty of recovery time for virtually every league game between now and the end of the season.
  12. Falkirk 1 up with 5 left of the 90.
  13. I prefer rice crispies myself 2bh
  14. I'm not happy about this but I'll never advocate booing an Aberdeen player, even if he is on loan from them. Ironically, it's just downright hunnish.
  15. Cue benny hill theme music.
  16. I'll say this for Mcglynn. I've been impressed by his teams every time I've watched them. Caught a few games of them in the championship and they were scoring goals for fun. The game at pittodrie I thought they really managed the game well after Devlin was sent off and they deserved their win on the day. He's made them a good team, no question. Would I want him as manager? I honestly don't know but he's worth at least an interview. Can see the benefits, very experienced and knows the league. Team plays well and has managed a very limited budget with aplomb.... Here's the thing through, I could be talking about Davie Martindale with those very same words and his achievement of having livi in the top league as much as he has (trying to playing football too, they're no hatchet merchants livi) is equally, if not more, impressive than what Mcglynn has done at Falkirk. Imo anyway, others are available, but regardless of his past I do think he is a good manager. Also Falkirk are a bigger club and probably had a bigger budget in the championship than livi have ever had in the top league. Am I advocating Martindale for an interview? No, but 2bh only really on the grounds that the support would really struggle to accept him being in the frame for the job let alone getting it. And I get it, he's convicted drug dealer with a really nasal weegie accent but I don't really care about that 2bh. I've got to admit though I really would be interested to see how he would do with a bigger club.
  17. In fairness we nearly got Christie, a permanent deal was in the works and then Tom Rogic got a bad one and they decided to keep him.
  18. It's infuriating! No danger the club don't know this is going to get them a lot of stick and for what? Another attacking midfielder that the jury is out on what their best position is? It really is a ridiculous act of self harm for a player we don't fucking need.
  19. We should never be loaning off der hun regardless of whether there's an option to buy.
  20. "What’s interesting about Robert Klauss style of play is that he is a Red Bull coach through and through. The now 39-year-old began his coaching career at RB Leipzig, progressing through the ranks of their academy to their Bundesliga team, where he served as assistant coach to both Ralf Rangnick and Julian Nagelsmann during their respective tenures." That's not an awful pedigree for a 41 yo 2bf. "Red Bull, the owner of several football clubs worldwide, including RB Leipzig in Germany, Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, Red Bull Bragantino in Brazil, and New York Red Bulls in the United States, follows a unique football philosophy. The company emphasises the development of young talents and play a proactive, high-pressing, counter-pressing style of football with direct, vertical, and quick attacking play to score goals as quickly as possible." wankspeak for gegenpress in case anyone wondering what a red bull coach is.
  21. Don't be silly Al
  22. It's pretty depressing Emma Burrows was put in a position where felt the need to post this I have to say. Sounds like they have been through the ringer as a family, my best pals wife had 2 miscarriages in short order and I've seen what it does to relationships close up. If you read this Alan and Emma all the best to you.
  23. Is it just me or is this manager search very low on press speculation compared to other occasions?
  24. Nail Head Nicely hit
  25. Morals of the move aside he agreed to sign for Russel Martin which was a monumentally stupid thing to do.
