Scottish Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic - 24/05
tlg1903 replied to Panda's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I had a bit of a mare that night too, car was off the road and work was hellish. By the time I got to the golf club they were nearly packing up. Next thing I know I'm holding the Scottish Cup and the significance of what I was actually holding in my hand hit me like a ton of bricks. It was a proper time slows down moment and I savoured it for all it was worth. -
Scottish Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic - 24/05

They were in Inverness a few weeks ago and I got my pic taken. Was a moment for sure, defo do this if you get the chance -
Extra days rest after tannadice midweek, that's no bad thing.

Bear in mind as well folks Nilsen has been linked with moves and palaversa hasn't had a sniff in ages. Fair chance both of these guys are away in the next few days. I like the sound of the Nigerian lad fwiw. A bit of muscle in the centre of the park can reap dividends in this league and it sounds like he's going to be bringing that. Derek Rae reckons he can play a wee bit as well and whilst I can understand why people are making Rama comparisons from what I can gather he seems more of a Bisconti type. And wouldn't that be nice, Bisco was a hell of a player.

That's not to be sniffed at given the context.

Roos was actually alright in his first season to my memory, massively went off a cliff the second. That pinstripe top really was minging.

Whoever we get it's not going to be an easy draw....

I've just come to the conclusion these days that you need to just take every little bit of joy you can find in this life. Causes are folly and usually take from you in some way, shape or form (though as football fans who are we to judge?) The rich will always exploit and the poor will suffer from the exploitation and it's not changing in our lifetimes. The planets probably fucked and at some point ww3 is going to hit so we have that to look forward to as well. There is literally nothing you, I or anyone on this board can do about it. America was fucked the moment Biden decided to run again if you ask me. It meant there was no Democrat selection process and Harris was fucked due to her association with the previous term when parachuted in. If Harris had somehow won it would have been by microscopic margin. Trump and Maga would have kicked off and America would have torn itself apart. Would possibly already be in civil war. Trump wins though and does Trump things...... I can understand why many think civil war seems to be in the post. Had the Democrats actually gone through the nomination process because Biden had not decided to pursue a 2nd term I think Trump could have lost. They would have been able to put forward someone who was untainted by the previous administration and possibly even fit to stand for president and it's been a while since you could say that any candidate was. Well done Joe

Conditions weren't exactly brilliant for that kind of play either.

Roma battering Milan but yet to score as we hit half time. Good watch, would recommend

Good night of serie a tonight. Juve vs Napoli just kicked off with Roma vs Milan at quarter to 8
-
Never a red. Maclean got it right first time.
-
Yeah was feeling very good about it for a few minutes. The tims new forward looks pretty handy 2bf
-
Chucked a few sheckles on hearts at ht as they were 9/1.
-
We'll agree to disagree then, I think he could have handled it but it doesn't matter now anyway. Will defo keep tabs on Dante though.
-
I would have loved to see Polvara get a decent shot as a no 10. He's good at playing with his back to goal and I think he could have thrived there.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq5y7pj3104o Quite the story this and he look's pretty handy from the little I've seen of him. Eligible for Scotland too........ He couldn't....... could he? I think there is at least one CF position up for grabs and if he has a strong second half of the season he could potentially put himself in the mix. Especially if Falkirk go deep in the cup and he's scored goals to get them there. Good size to him too, at least 6'2

We were all Dante Polvara in this moment

"The Club is aware of an allegation that racist language was used during today’s match with Livingston FC at Pittodrie. The player concerned has been informed of the allegation and vehemently denies it. Aberdeen FC condemns any and all forms of discrimination and we will co-operate fully with all relevant authorities during any investigation. While this process is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further." Firstly, Fucks sake. Raging this is the first thing I've got to talk about after that. At the very least what we can take from the club statement is that a player has been named. Milne is the obvious contender but it could also be Shinnie as he was wrestling with him for a bit. I find this hard to believe from anyone in our squad though, we've had plenty of black players in our squad and if we genuinely had a racist in our ranks you would think it would already have shown itself in training. Im sure we are now going to see some more forensic analysis of the footage in the next day or two so maybe some more information will come from that. Live I had a reasonable view from the main but only noticed it once they were raising their hands and it was chaos within a few seconds so it really could be anyone involved in that stramash. The previous form that Slim linked to is interesting, it does certainly raise the possibility in my mind that he's trying to cover for the fact he got sent off minutes into his debut though Onto the game. Obviously, plenty of positives to talk about but the caveat of it being livi has to be taken into account. Frame looked great going forward though, scratching my head as to why he wasn't at least given some sub minutes when Gyamfi was out for ages. No comment on his defensive capabilities yet as he wasn't particulary tested but he looks a real prospect. I had a perfect view in for his cross for Nisbet and it was glorious. When was the last time we had a LB with a genuinely sweet left foot? Great to see Topi play his best game in red by a mile, for once "like a new signing" is actually apt. I thought he looked really in sync with the rest of the team for the first time and I think he needs that as a player. I've always said there's a player in there but it's decision making that lets him down. Today he wasn't really making decisions and just playing on instinct to my eye and it really worked for him I thought. Long may that continue because if this is going to be a thing he's going to have a great second half of the season. The thing I loved most about today was the taking the game by the scruff of the neck in that inury time in the first half. Excellent attitude despite the offside goal being disallowed (and that 4 minute var stop was infuriating. completely stole our momentum) and the special needs defending that led to the two goals. Also noticed Leven telling them there was still time for a 3rd. We could look back on this game as the turning point in our season. The ref was as bad as i've seen since McCurry retired.

what's the story here?
-
There's still half a season left, no that late.
-
It takes as long as it takes, Leven is clearly a safe pair of hands so I don't see the rush 2bh
-
Back in training by march, fully fit for the world cup.
-
I had a while back heard it was closer to 15 we were paying him but that is unconfirmed. And 2bh I wouldn't like it to be

Its like they dug out Calderwoods tombola.
