  • The point of Europe is to make it as hard as possible for the big teams to fuck it up by allowing them 87 defeats before ejection.

I stubbed my toe on an unanticipated door sill on Saturday, but I don't think it will affect the team's morale greatly.

I told you Glass knew what he was doing.

Too easy.

I predicted 3-0 so as good as haha.

Holy shit how good are we?

Quality stuff but not getting carried away. No clue how good hacken are.

Our front two were certainty impressive. Thought Jet was creative but Ramirez had excellent touch and link up play. Very solid start from those two, but the latter looks a real find.

Didn’t expect 5-1. Happy day!

From what I saw (mainly around the Fergie ping) we looked very good and they looked very poor.  But promising signs indeed!  Be great if this is a sign of things to come.

Well those fearing a Sigma Olomouc repeat got the scoreline right.

It's 80/1 for Aberdeen to win the league. Would get it on before it drops.

Also, the final is due to be played in Tirana, but the stadium only holds 22,500. Surely we'll need to get the changed as no way that's going to be big enough for the Aberdeen-Roma final.

Didn’t see that one coming. Ferguson was brilliant. Emmanuel Thomas was also excellent until he tired. Ojo was a revelation at left wing.

Great start.

Hacken looked tidy going forward & we actually had to defend well at times. They have goals in them and could see them scoring at home definitely, which was why at 3-1 it was a bit nervy.

But a four-goal lead to take there is just incredible.

Thats what to expect with a more attack minded team though.Rather that than manage out a 1 - 0 with 85 mins to go.

Be great to see McLennan and Ojo find what theyre capable of

Brilliant performance. Some great goals, attacking threat, control of the midfield and some youth thrown in for good measure.

Let's hope this is the kind of passing football that we can expect this year.

Special mention to brown. He looked in great shape, won everything he went for and ran that game. I didn't expect miracles from him but really impressed tonight.

Just back. That was top drawer. Some excellent attacking play. Jet and Ferguson were excellent. Considine and McRorie a good partnership, they didn't have a lot of support at times. Ojo did okay, but shouldn't be playing out there, he doesn't offer anything and will get found out against better opposition. Unsure of Ramirez, could go either way, but he'll be good with the fans if he turns out to be good. Some hit fae McLennan. Fantastic to be back, so much better than the tele.

I actually thought about your first point too. At 2-0 we could have gone into the old game management mode in the second half and tried to simply see the game out, but thankfully we did not!

Holy shit! I just got up and saw the score! Was not expecting that!

If anyone has links to extended highlights or the full match replay, I'd love to know please.

Best I can find at the mo.

For some reason I think we will win 2-1 in Gothenburg...

Thanks for that ^^^^ scotfree

That was pleasing on the eye and a fantastic result.

The only negative I would say was JET gave the ball away quite a few times.

Nice to see us score 5 goals though.

I thought with a name like Hacken there would be a lot of fouls.

Why were there 8 minutes of extra time?

I thought JET was fucking outstanding last night ?‍♂️

I'm not saying he wasn't but he stood out as giving the ball away on numerous occasions. That's all.

I like him and think he has good vision, patience and great footwork.

I reckon we potentially have ourselves a new "cult hero" in JET.

I think Ramirez will be the cult hero cos he will score more goals imo.

A few fans didn't rate JET. I do but he gave away possession last night which other teams would make counter attacks from.

He needs to sharpen that side of his game.

I think he's cool af.

You must be looking in different places to me if you have seen a few Dons that didn't rate JET'S performance last night.

Eugene Dadi was a prime example of a cult hero who didn't score lots of goals.

Not his performance last night Al but his signing.

I wanted him in the squad.

I'm a fan of his, I just think Ramirez will be our next Rooney.

Hopefully they're both great.

Jet was head and shoulders above Ramirez last night, he was excellent. I don't remember him giving the ball away once from a position that would have caused us trouble, although he didn't track his man at one point (which I think eventually led to their goal) but he was unexpectedly covering Hedges and wasn't prepared. The times he did give the ball away were when he was trying to make something happen, which is completely acceptable. We were very guilty of not trying things under McInnes for fear of giving it away. Many of the chances we created through jet last night would have been a sideways pass last season.

I was unconvinced by Ramirez last night, but he certainly does have the potential to be a Rooney. His movement needs to improve a bit, but given he's on a new continent with a completely different game it'll maybe take time. He's about the size, stature and pace of Rooney anyway. Jet being there will be a huge benefit to him.
