I think it's a good idea, give more people the ability to go to the game.

Thats fucking pish.

This should have been done the day the fixtures were announced, I mean have they just realised that Scotland will be completely shut down on the 1st Jan?  It tends to happen fairly regularly!

Total fuckwittery

2nd works for me.

Aye like once a year!!  :hammer:

2nd suits me. Nice one SPL.

May well suit me too.

Apparently United are not impressed, no surprises there. Right decision but a decision that should have been made months ago.

If both teams don't agree it won't happen.

United are apparently contesting it, as TF said.

Good on them.

SPL guy on radio today said that if teams can't come to an agreement then they often go with the home teams position as it has bigger commercial implications for them. Not guaranteed though.

Absoloute madness, not the decision, which is correct, but waiting until now to request a change, what is that all about?

I don't see what Dundee would have against changing the day of the game, probably better turn out on the 2nd.  Sounds like they're just being awkward for awkward's sake.  Mind you at this rate, the game will be postponed due to weather anyways so the decision will be immaterial and we'll have 3 games a week in March . . . . :hammer:

Going ahead as planned on the 1st.

Going ahead as planned on the 1st.

Well only themselves to blame.  Why suddenly ask for a change now?  In fact why do the SPL even insist on having games on the 1st, especially in a year where the 1st-4th are fucking holidays?

Ach well, suspect I'll end up lying on the sofa trying to sleep off a hangover while being further tortured by our performance and Scott Davies commentary.

AFC to blame for a late request.

United just being cunts, not like it affects thier income, cunts.

SPL, never likely to change the date given how late it is or that it makes sense.

Firstbus, just cunts.

Good! Will be miles better on New Years day

I'll keep the spew bucket handy for you.

Possibly struggling to sell hospitality packages on the 1st and only just getting feedback that the date is a problem ? Arranging games on the 1st is not ideal but in past years they were traditionally very well attended as fans were keen to get out the house, same went for boxing day games. Possibly cultural shifts have now put an end to that and the SPL are still playing catch up. Sofalising for me that day too. For the record, I think we will give them a thumping that day. Just a sense I have.

If my mind isn't too addled by age, or brandy, I'm sure we used to have league games on Christmas day?

yep me too, this optimism thing is quite an unusual sensation

Is this a move by United to hurt us in the pocket in the hope there will be a lot less Reds in attendance?

If it is, ach, scrub that...... even if it isn't, I'd like there to be a lot less Reds at the next United game on their turf.

See how they like an empty stadium the next time we play them instead of us filling their coffers.

Not like we ever win there anyway.  :(

So whats your excuse for the rest of the season.  ;)
