Jimmy says it’ll be reviewed in Jan and that they had a good look at him during pre-season and feel he needs regular games. No surprise. I'm not sure it really does a whole lot for us him having a good spell there, but game time is definitely beneficial. I'm not convinced we'll see much that'll change Thelin's view between now and January, I think he'll take a few years to get to his peak. Quote
BigAl Posted August 1 Author Report Posted August 1 Nisbet - Gone Dabbagh- Gone Gueye - Gone Bavidge - Gone Vinnie - Gone What's the Dazzler up to these days Time to reach out for a legend to return to the fold Quote
redordead Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 Can't say bavidge ever stood out last season when I seen them. Marshall did well at cove and got a step up this season with my mate at Arbroath. Although I maintain that fyvie was still coves best player Quote
RicoS321 Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Fuck sake, we're down to third in the table already as things stand. When the fuck are we signing a striker? Absolute disgrace. Quote

Jute Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 P&J linking us with Luca Stevenson from Liverpool who was at United last season. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/6820459/aberdeen-considering-move-liverpool-defensive-midfielder/ Defensive mid seems to be an odd position to be strengthening. He began the season at right midfield, was moved more centrally, and one of the games he played at left-back was in the 2-2 draw at Pittodrie. Quote

Like Dorrington, it strikes me that we'd be predominantly better signing him for fear of missing out, as he is apparently a good player. At the expense of squad imbalance and resulting in some players getting less minutes than we'd want. Either that, or it suggests we're going to be regularly changing our system to a three in midfield. Unless Clarkson or someone else is leaving. Anyway, looking like no number nine for tomorrow, which is a touch disappointing. Quote

I.e, sign first then get the visa sorted? Quote
BigAl Posted August 3 Author Report Posted August 3 Dabbagh no more Won't be returning to us in this transfer window as away to play for some Egyptian team. Quote
RicoS321 Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Squad numbers out. Interestingly, no number three in there. Also, Lobban in the squad. He looks like a great player, but not sure how he gets a look in with Devlin and Jensen there. Perhaps just to make up the Scottish quota. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Devlin shinnie Duncan Boyd Milne lobban, how does that leave the Scottish quota?? No number 3, 12, 14, 15, 16, plus polvara is 8, topi 81, gyamfi 77, don’t know if squad numbers mean anything other than just a number.. Quote
Jute Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Squad numbers as everyone else is to lazy to copy and paste. 2 Quote

Think there are 7 that qualify as Scottish trained plus we can call back cooperation loans to make up number to 8. Quote

He's not ready to step up to the premier. Steady enough at div 1 but not a stand out at that level and you really should be to play in our first team. On that note alloa have a keeper on loan from hearts Liam something. McInnes was watching him on Saturday. Unbelievable saves! Looks like a young Craig Gordon. Quote

Although I'd agree that he isn't quite ready, but one I thought could be given game time to develop this season. He looks most likely to be the one to make it out of him, Marshall, Stewart, Bavidge and previously Emslie in my view. It's getting that transition between loan and first team where we really struggle. We should be able to carry a right back to some degree during games, and we should be forcing ourselves to do so in order to blood the young players. Quote

See this transfer hasn't gone through yet. Right at this moment in time signing Dabbagh would be a massive step up from where we currently find ourselves. Quote
Jute Posted August 5 Report Posted August 5 If we are looking at last seasons loans I would rather we went back and tested Millwall’s resolve on Nisbet. Quote

Don't disagree Jute, my point, I guess was that Dabbagh coming back would be a huge upgrade on where we currently find ourselves Quote
Jute Posted August 5 Report Posted August 5 Oh totally agree that Dabbagh is a better player than Yengi on what we have seen so far. I would love to know what those that watched Yengi saw. Quote
