I wouldn't mind seeing him given a run out at no 10 actually, he's got the technique for it and I think he would suit playing there in Thelin system.Ā

There probably is space for one more winger onlyĀ if Besuijen is leaving. But he looked good before his injury and maybe Thelin's system suits him. I imagine he'll probably leave when his contract expires next summer anyway, but I'd give him a chance until at least January.

That’s a fair point and something I was taking for granted was thatĀ Besuijen would be moved on. Besuijens main issue is his lack of pace, he’s never looked a bad player but he wouldn’t be able to beat a man playing as a winger. He’s done ok in the number 10 position before though.Ā

We definitely need another winger. The new left back can play left mid, but I’m assuming he’s left back, milanovic is a winger and a 10 for what I understand, but I haven’t seen enough to know if he’s a legit winger. topi is inconsistent and young (but I like him!), and Morris is in his last year of a contract, plus I wouldn’t be surprised if we got offers for Morris this summer. Factor in the demands of Europe too. I also don’t think vinnie is good enough or athletic enough for what JT needs and I expect him to be punted this summer.
I think we’re also seeing signings that are flexible and can play multiple positions, wouldn’t be surprised if we signed another left back/left winger.

Okkels wasn't a traditional winger like Morris - he wasn't going to skip by players and put in crosses. I don't recall him having much pace either. His game was to sit wide, exchange passes, track back when the left-back had gone forward, and play almost as an inside forward; arriving late into the box. He didn't really excel in the role, but it clearly was successful under Thelin in Sweden so has worked before.

I think Thelin is looking for a similar type of player, and if Okkels' transfer fee wasn't so high he'd probably sign him long term.

Besuijen is a similar player - he probably has more to his game than Okkels and has more experience of Scottish football.Ā

The only doubt over him is his injury record. If he can't prove his fitness he'll be gone in summer, but he was back training towards the end of the season so here's hoping pre-season goes his way and he could be like a... I'm not going say it.

He's done okay when he's had a chance. Has hardly set the heather alight, and that's evident by his lack of callup to the All Whites, neither whilst with us nor whilst with AEK Athens - believe me, it doesn't take much to get into the All Whites squadĀ

In fairness, he’d never get a shot at LB with Cacace on the scene. He’d be one id love us to sign but I think he’ll be staying in Italy. Other LB being de vries who had a pretty solid season with them šŸ˜‰Ā

A rumour to start the day:

Aberdeen are monitoring a move for Cape Verde international midfielder Ilano Silva Timas.

The Scottish Cup winners have already brought in Nicolas Milanovic, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Nick Suman and Kusini Yengi this summer.

And reports in the Netherlands have stated they are in a battle with newly promoted Excelsior to land Maastricht ace Timas.

Timas, 22, went from playing amateur football to international football within the space of a year in a remarkable rise.

He was snapped up by Maastricht in the second tier of Dutch football and scored six goals and made seven assists during the season.

That earned him a call-up to the Cape Verde Islands and he made his international bow last month in a friendly against Malaysia.

He has a year left of his contract and the Dons have reportedly enquired along with Rotterdam club Excelsior.

Hopefully we can reach a treaty with Maastricht.Ā

Had to finish my coffee, then a twenty minute yap to the coffee shop staff and regulars. Important stuff.

Vinnie has been told he is free to go subjectĀ  to theĀ  inclusion of a sell on percentage with any club that want him.

Disappointed for him as a player that I had high hopes for.

Goes with best wishes for the future and hopefully he can keep himself injury free going forward

Right call I think. Got a nice touch and quick feet, but it was clear after a couple of months that he was just going to be a bit below standard. Was never quick enough to get away from players, or strong enough to hold onto possession. A good finisher and technically good player. He'd probably do a good job for likes of county in previous seasons.

I thought Vinnie was starting to look okay under Thelin just before the injury so a bit surprised he is being allowed to go.

He was improved, certainly, and he definitely seemed to be putting in the effort, but still didn't have the fundamentals. Technically no worse than Okkels I guess, but not as good positionally. Guys like him should be part of the churn of the system. A lesson McInnes never learned. You'd like to think that if we signed a winger that we thought was good, then the minimum we'd get is someone that fills a squad like Vinnie. We don't need lots of them.Ā

McGarry to Brisbane confirmed. No loss.Ā

They obviously turned down the BOGOF deal that we offered with Ambrose thrown in. Shame. Good to see us getting players shipped out. Ambrose and Jensen departing would be good to see, alongside Vinnie. That'd leave us in decent shape to be picking up the 6-7 players we'd expect to see in, even with a few of those being pish.Ā

Is Vinnie the only player left from the McInnes era? Was McInnes still here when he signed? Obviously, discounting Shinnie, who was then wasn't here, and is again. We've got zero long term players once Shinnie returns.

Shame really as admired the guy taking the risk and moving to the other side of the world.

Wish him no ill and hope he goes on to rebuild his reputation in the land of Oz.

Bojan told he can leave Girona this summer

BRING HIM HOMEĀ šŸ‘

It would be amazing but I imagine they are looking to recoup far more of the fee they paid for him than we are prepared to pay.Ā
