Just thought I'd join to give a bit of an opinion on Aouchiche.  Technically he's a really good footballer. Due to injuries he spent a lot of his time with us out on the left wing, which probably

This is quite interesting actually. Knoester had 2 years left on his deal with an option to extend an extra year already.  Thelin clearly wants to build his defence around him.

Great news! Like a new signing, who just extended his contract!
Read shady mo had 5 goals and 13 assists this year. Last year of his contract, he the next one to extend? Still don’t rate him highly but that’s solid production.

I certainly hope so.  With Milanovic coming in to play as an IF it's no bad thing to have the option to play an out and out winger if it's not working and vice versa.

Very pleased with the Knoester news. Our good teams should always have a cloggy element 😬

I’d be happy with Morris signing on again, unless we get money for him. Regardless, he’s a good option off the bench and you can’t argue with those stats.

You think Knoester is Cloggy? Before I say anthing further can define by what you mean by that Manc as my definition of a cloggy CB would be more in zander diamond mould.....

Just simply, Dutch. Nothing deeper than that 😂

Agree. We should always have at least three Dutch players in the squad.

Knoester. I remember when we signed him there was questions asked because Stefan Gartenmann was keeping him out of the Ferencvaros team. Gartenmann's performances this season though have earned him a first cap for Switzerland (he's Danish, but he got Swiss citizenship in March). He's done this by playing on the left side of defence, where I don't think we ever played him.

Whether we undervalued Gartenmann or used him wrong, or Ferencvaros did the same with Knoester, both clubs have done well out of it. Although... (going off on a massive tangent here).

Ferencvaros - with Gartenmann in the starting XI - were in the Hungarian Cup final this season. They drew 1-1, but lost on penalties! How about that? Small consolation in that they did win the league though.

Reports/Rumours circulating that we are in a "battle" with Dundee and English teams to sign Ronan Hale from Ross County.

Belfast Telegraph is the source.

No way he's turning down the opportunity to work with Elvis. We move on.

In all seriousness though, I'm not sure about him. He's a good goalscorer, but he never looked particularly great on the other aspects. Given that he'd be out second choice, that finishing aspect could go out the window without match sharpness. I think Sokler would score a similar number of goals as first choice in a team like County. If he was Scottish, then it'd be a no-brainer, for European numbers.

I quite like Hale as an option but probably not as main striker. As long as not to expensive woukd not object to this and a better option than Ambrose off the bench.

That's like praising someone for having a better human rights record than Hitler.

Have to say, though, that Hale and Murray up front for Dundee would likely see them top six. Sometimes you can even employ Steven Pressley and have everything just fall into place on the transfer front. I think he'd come to us over them, even as backup, but it depends what he wants for himself. I think England would be a bad move, don't think he's suited to the game down there.

Hale would be good business imo, he's a good age and knows where the net is at league level.  He also looks like he would fit into the system JT wants to play pretty well, from what I've seen he works hard and covers a good amount of ground whilst not giving off a headless chicken vibe. A main man no 9 is defo still needed though.

Shay Reid, 16 yr old Northern Irish lad with 51 goals this season being looked at according to a down market publication, but I refuse to post a link to it on here.

Preston and Wrexham also looking at him.

The truth of all of this should be taken with a large pinch of salt of course.

P&J reporting we are not looking at Hale after all

Is that like the good old days of Aberdeen Journals, where the EE would create a bit of sensationalism in the form of "Dons looking at World Cup winner", only for the next mornings P&J to quash the "rumour" ?

All quiet on the transfer front. Besides hale and that 16 yr old forward, any other names out there were being linked with??

Gyamfi

Had a quick look at his stats and appears he also played RB, LW and RW last season, but was mainly a left-back.

A good sign is that there are Schalke fans commenting on their club's announcement saying they wanted to see him given a chance there, with the suggestion being that we must have paid a good transfer fee as they rated him highly.
