  1. Heard the rumour that celtic were going to bin him on twitter last week. Took it with a pinch of salt 2bh. I'll always have affection for Griffiths those free kicks, Scotland have missed him big time.
  2. Didn't see that coming. Much needed shot in the arm
  3. Obviously a celtic legend but he did a lot of the squad building that fergie relied on so this deserves a place here. Very sad to hear this news, McNeil seemed a really decent human and I loved listening to him talk about the game. RIP Billy.
  4. I would give the captaincy to Considine.
  5. I actually quite enjoyed the first half but the second was brutal. Tell you what though, the guys on killie TV were pretty objective with their commentary. I say this because I find it laughable Clarke questions the first red when his own club's TV channel is saying it was the correct decision. Broadfoot is such a shithouse, watching his bubbly at being sent off was hilarious.
  6. That's the thing about Hughes TC, people judge him by how he speaks but he's actually a very switched on guy imo. Not convinced he would bring multiple public speaking gaffes either as I can't really think of any he has committed so far. As for a not very good manager his teams at Inverness and Falkirk punched waaaaay above their weight. Hell he took Inverness to 3rd in the season they won the Scottish Cup.
  7. Who does everyone fancy for it next? Clark will be the most popular choice but I would be surprised if he wants it. Wonder if the sfa will go back to Smith, it's the level of lack of imagination I have come to expect from them though, say what you like about Smith, he's good at what he does and would likely do well. Personally I would prefer someone who really wants the gig and (tin hat on) I was impressed with the passion for the role John Hughes showed just before eck got it. Plays nice football that would suit the current attacking options we have, gets his players onside and he's used to working with limited resources. Won't happen but he would be my choice.
  8. Chris mcglauchlin reporting on twitter ecks been binned. Next!
  9. Citeh spurs has been bonkers
  10. A month after the fact still reported as 6.5 mill. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45805859 I've never once heard the club say it was less, not saying it didn't happen but I didn't hear it if they did. Got a source for that?
  11. Glad your not director of football at afc. McKenna would be at the San giro if so..... He's worth way more than 3.5 and it wasn't ludicrous to turn down that offer of 6.5. It was deadline day the bid came in and we couldn't have replaced him. Given how our defensive injuries went in the first half of the season we would have been completely screwed without McKenna.
  12. The 2 mill for Cosgrove I heard on sportsound. Make of it what you will but all things considered it seems about right. I would wager Cosgroves new deal would be about 3k a week give or take making his overall contract worth about 470k. Given we don't want to sell him and he's young you can multiply that a few times for final transfer fee. As for fees paid to Scottish clubs from English John Mcginn went for 2.75 in the final year of his deal. SM has 4 years left and a lot of teams have been sniffing about him which puts the price up even more. Add it all up and a deal worth 8 mill doesn't sound particularly steep if you ask me. I could, of course, be wrong but time will tell. I think we can all agree that we will find out what the club are prepared to accept inside the next 2 months though.
  13. 2 mill was the chat through the week from Millwall. He's under contract till 2022 so given age and potential I would say that's probably fair. As for 8 Mill for McKenna well we have already turned down 6.5.
  14. Well, that was just horrible. Haven't had the stomach to watch the highlights but the game was over the moment Ball went off. I have watched his second yellow again and I can see why it was a yellow but, equally, if he had gone down also he probably would have got away from it as there was clearly no intent. Didn't think his first was a yellow though and that's galling as I thought we were staring to frustrate celtic and actually getting into their half at times. I would concede that Celtic probably would have won anyway but I thought that pre match. The collapse of discipline was very concerning and, for me, highlights how much we missed Shinnie. He is going to be a huge loss next season and finding a successor for him next seasons will be very difficult. Still plenty to play for at least but as I said previously this has been a pretty disappointing season bar results against the tribute act. Anyone else feeling very apprehensive about next season. We will be without for sure Shinnie, Stewart, gms, Lowe and McKenna. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lewis away as well nor Cosgrove either. That's potentially 6 players who are all first choices offski and yet another rebuild for Mcinnes. And it will be Mcinnes unless he decides to walk himself. I can't see Milne moving DM on 1. cos he loves him and 2. looking for a new manager when you're trying to build a new stadium is extra hassle and expense that you don't need. Do I have faith that he will be able to do it? History tells us he will find some good ones and bad ones but there could be a fair whack of cash coming in to the club this summer to complicate matters. If all of them went I think reasonable fees would be 8 for mckenna, 2ish for Cosgrove, do well to get the same again for Lewis as he's ooc come 2020 but I would expect at least a mill. Add on 4 mill if Fraser gets that arsenal move and that is 15 mill in over the summer (most of it will go to the stadium but I reckon Cormack will make sure a decent amount will go to the playing staff). Add to that the club is going to have a new big selling point for potential players in that we will have a 11.5 mill training facility. Interesting times lie ahead.
  15. Using the word fenian is just downright hunnish and afc 'fans' should not be using it at all. I heard someone shout it yesterday from somewhere quite near behind me so I turned and shouted out fuck off to ibrox with chat like that. Didn't hear it again but I left when Ferguson got his straight red.
  16. Never heard of him, any particular exploits stand out rocket?
  17. Lennon was great at what he did, mast bastard midfielder that broke up play and moved it on to the tech players in his team. Real leader too, I would have happily had him at Aberdeen as a player.
  18. The whole thing from start to finish has been about the lead the tory party takes full stop if you ask me Kow.
  19. Fair play to brown, that interview was pretty funny
  20. Loved the managers defence of shinnie yesterday.
  21. I heard a rumour a few months back that Mcleish has early stages of dementia. I'm not going to say the source but I will say it was credible.
  22. Wasn't just Leicester though was it (I would also add if we had won the league the same season as them in terms of resource our achievement would have been greater). In the past ten years athletico and montpellier have won their respective divisions against significantly greater resourced teams. For afc to win the league we would need to have an almost flawless league campaign and the good fortune that celtic were having an off season. It's not impossible, just pretty improbable.
  23. For singing 'Sad orange bastard' at Gerrard.
  24. It was a stalemate but I thought we played really well. Our structure was excellent and as for the slating of Mclennan I very much disagree. He made a few mistakes and lost the ball but overall I thought his attitude and drive was spot on and their rb didn't have a moments peace. Everyone's was though 2bh. Considine was an absolute rock today.
  25. Dreary first half, neither side could keep the ball. Best change was a long ranger from Ajjer that Lewis saved.
