It's been reported in the Swedish press Jimmy Thelin on the list of possible national captains Updated today 14:49 Published today 14:08 Jimmy Thelin from Jönköping is on the list of possible replacements for Jon Dahl Thomasson as the new captain of the Swedish men's national football team. This is according to information provided to SVT Nyheter Jönköping. Jimmy Thelin is currently coaching Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League where he has had a tough start to the season. The team is last in the table after seven games. This after last season's success where Aberdeen won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 35 years. Current again Jimmy Thelin was also in the running as the new national team captain the last time the position was filled, when Jon Dahl Tomasson was hired. And after the announcement on Tuesday that Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired, Jimmy is once again on the association's list of possible new national team captains. Jimmy Thelin made a breakthrough as a coach when he took Jönköpings Södra to the Allsvenskan in 2015 and then moved on to Elfsborg where, among other things, there were two second places in the Allsvenskan. SVT has applied for Jimmy Thelin.

I honestly think it would be suicide to revert to a back 4, especially against our bogey team of the past few years.

Great win, shit performance. That is all.

Couldn't resist a wee squadge on hun social media when I heard slippy had pulled out. This comment had me howling, you couldn't make it up. -
I doubt Armstrong is on his radar 2bh given the wealth of cm's we have.

Lampard, who has done fairly well 2bf at Coventry but no-where else really, is latest to be linked. I supect that would probably be hilarious as well. Of all the names linked the only one so far that worries me is Mcinnes who would likely knock it out the park. -
Bad enough seeing him at Tynecastle

I've rewatched Karlssons second a few times I must admit. Love the twinkle toes

Well, that was most pleasing. We are really starting to click as a football team now shame it's the international break 2bh.

At the moment I would happily trade Yengi for Anderson. I would also say he would offer us something we don't have, a pen box no 9 that can fins that half yard of space when teams are sitting in. I thought we were getting that with Nisbet but his game seems to have adapted a bit since his time at hibs.

Maybe a slight exageration mate but you're in the right ball park. I said a few weeks ago I thougth we were like an engine running without any oil.... well someone went and filled the sump as this is far more like it. We have to take into consideration the fun are not looking amazing but they are getting such little opportunity to hold onto the ball it's not unreasonable to say a large part of Dundee's shitness is us forcing them to be. Regardless though, if we were to play like this against anyone in the league at the moment I don't think any of them would like it very much.

I'd have wee brucey back in a heartbeat 2bh.

believe it or not she completely agrees with my assessment -
5 mins before he went off he had a charge into the box but just ran out of steam, it was quite noticeable at the time. Was that before or after he took a knock because I don't recall that?

And both went on to do a lot of good, fans like that remind me of my significantly better half when she's just about to hit full moon. Unless you are saying or doing exactly what they want to hear/see, there is simply no pleasing them. -
The logic is sound but I've never seen Devlin look as burst as he did coming off on Thursday. Most likely because he's not actually started a lot of games and isn't fully match fit. I'm not sure he would be fit for more than 20 minutes on Sunday 2bh

You're such a part timer Manc This is arguably the biggest game of the season so far imo. A convincing win and we can maybe turn the relative positivity of the past few performances into genuine confidence that we have turned a corner and start looking up the table. Not a minute too soon either. Al was saying in the Shaktar thread that Thelin sounded far more positive and upbeat in his post match presser and I think that bodes well. It's understandable too, at times in that second half we actually looked like a football team again and long may that continue. Not that this is going to be a walkover. Pressley for all his eccentricity has done better than I thought he would and I'm expecting him to go with a tough nut to crack setup for this one. Defo start Jensen over Devlin just purely on the grounds that Nicky ran himself into the ground last night. Lazetic is an interesting dilemma as he also ran himself into the ground but he's only 21 so should handle it better from a fitness pov. Wouldn't be surprised to see Nisbet get the nod though and save Marco for the last 20 mins. Other than that I have no clue how we will line up or even if we will keep the 343. Fingers crossed 3-0 dons, Nisbet, Polvara and Lazetic

Gondor and Rohans new beacon system sounds a bit shit I have to say....... It is starting to develop into a "the curios case of Topi Keskinen" scenario, I think he looks far more effective playing a bit deeper, he seems to get a bit more space to run into which suits him. Mitov has a mistake in him, mostly he's a solid goalie but he does give me a the fear a bit at times. So much so if he doesn't have a nice long spell of consistent solid displays it may be we should give Suman a run out and see what he's got about him. -

I think it was a very important night for JT (despite the loss) in terms of restoring a little faith that he knows what he's doing amongst the more sceptical. At times tonight not only did we look like a football team (and wasn't that nice to see) but one that was actually quite decent. As long as we follow this up with a win against the fun (please let them be fun) then, fingers crossed, we will hopefully see the start of a second season renaissance for Jimmy Thelin after the international break. -

The thing I don't get is why some fans passionately hate him so much. He did fine when he came on tonight I thought, I know his form has dipped a bit from the player we had this time last season but he's certainly not been booed onto the pitch bad. -

Yeah I would agree with that and go further and say he's contributing far more and more effectively from this position. -

I'll take that, that's easily the best team we have played so far this season and we had them nervous and time wasting the last ten minutes. We defo could have done better on their goals but there were some spells in the second half I liked what I saw going forward. Especially when you consider at one point we were staring down the barrel of a gubbing. Lazetic is incredibly unfortunate not to have his first goal (but a hell of save it has to be said) but delighted it was Devlin to tuck it in. Agree it's his best game as dandy, my biggest take on him from tonight (spin and volley aside) is for a big lad he much prefers taking high balls down than getting his head on it much like Marouane Fellaini used to. He had some really nice wee touches too and he certainly puts a shift in...... a few more perfomances like that maybe our 9 worry will ease a bit. It was good to hear the fans singing and not booing at full time though shame on anyone who booed Nilsen on the park as far as I'm concerned.
