Naysmith. And in fairness he did a job when he came in
-
Fwiw I don't think we have seen anywhere near enough of Roberts or myslovic to make any kind of accurate assessment. We do need to shed not hacking it wingers/attackers though and that's before you even take back into consideration Besuijen coming back. Interesting to see what happens there. It's easily forgotten that Stewart is still our player though I would be shocked to see him play again, he will surely be staying south of the border. It's such a big window but if we can somehow keep Clarkson and Pollock (I'm confident Shinnie will be done) that's 2 more spine players. What are folks thoughts on Scales? It's tempting to want to keep him (if for continuity more than anything else) and he has been playing reasonably well. If the price was right I would be on board I guess but I'm not going to be devastated if we don't keep him.

Please don't apply for Mowbrays job. TIA. Signed, every Aberdeen fan that has ever existed.
-
Richardson looked a bit better positionally I thought but overall looked a bit sluggish. Morris put a shift in but other than that offered little. Helen on Wednesday is now going to be a nervy game and their tails will be up getting a draw at San giro.
-
Equally though it's a hell of a player to have come off the bench.
-
He's had some hits and some misses but I don't think Stewart was one of his failures though, I remember Goodwin saying he was a player he identified when at St mirren. Regardless it will be interesting to see how the club responds. Burrows has impressed well enough so far but he's got an unenviable task here given how bad a time it is to be losing his services.

Robson did his presser today instead of Thursday oddly. Got the feeling Mcrorie might be back for this one which would be a huge boost.

I would snap the hand of if a draw was offered now. No way hearts are hauling back 5 points over 2 games when their two games are der hun away and hibs at home. Would defo have Watkins in for Duk, if he's fit Duk could be a handy impact sub but the kid is defo toiling a wee bit at the mo and I thought Watkins got stuck in when he came on against hibs. We will need that against the jambos who will be right up in our fucking faces from the off if their game against the tims is any judge. Big game for the midfield and I would defo be dropping Duncan. Not sure who for exactly but he's been too much of a passenger the past few games. Depressingly I can see hearts sneaking this. Hibs got an awful lot of joy on our flanks on Saturday and we didn't deal with it particularly well. I expect hearts to follow suit with the same approach so we need to be better in all departments. The pressure is defo on hearts though which could go in our favour and an early goal for us would likely knock the stuffing out of them. 1-1 Mcdonald

I disagree. I would have been looking for about 3 for him given how DC was very clear in his recent interview that the club is in the black and under no requirement to sell. 2 mill doesn't exactly seem like hard balling to me which is why I think he must have a release clause. Not that what we think matters anyway. The deal seems to be done and good luck to him.
-
I suspect he must have a release clause, 2 mill seems a wee bit low for a player with 3 years left on his deal. Hopefully we have a 25% sell on clause as I think Mcrorie will do well in that league.

Sore one for the jutes today. Can see them going down now
-
He's a real scrapper from what I can remember. No idea what he is like going forward though. Has been injured 2 of the past 3 seasons best I can tell but other than that he's had a fairly injury free career. No idea if this is a good move but ultimately I think we just have to trust Robson on this one.

Defensively I didn't think Coulson did too bad 2bf, he kept trying to do too much by himself going forward and kept losing the ball. My main preference is having Mcrorie back in but the club have been suspiciously tight lipped on what the story is there and I do wonder if we will see him in red again. I did find it interesting that Coulson was picked over Kennedy in the first place and was very surprised to see Coulson play rwb Not seen too much of hibs lately but did see the highlights against St Mirren. They look not bad going forward (though the St mirren defence helped them at every opportunity) but I can't see them getting more than one against our back line. Defensively they don't seem to be able to defend any kind of measured aerial ball. All St mirren chances came with either a cross or a dinked ball all over the defence for a striker to run onto. 2bh my first thought was Clarkson, Miovski and Duk will have a field day against this back line and that's what I think will probably happen. 3-0 dons Miovski, Duk and Pollock
-
It started outside the box but he was still all over Duk as they moved into the box. Stone Wall pen all day long
-
Could the club go into admin? Then they would have to accept any reasonable offers you would think.
-
My thought was hayes to the right. It's interesting Coulson is preferred over Kennedy
-
Had a look on hun media to see what they are saying. Aside from indulging in some rather juicy schadenfreude I did notice a lot of them saying they weren't going to be attending. It will be interesting to see what the attendance is and unless they get an early goal I can see those that do go getting on their backs pretty quickly.
-
Apparently we are being linked with van veen
-
He's been out for so long I wouldn't be overly comfortable starting him anyway 2bh. Agree about Duncan, thought he had a fine second half and I am happy to be unchanged for this one.
-
True but it would be a real sickener not to get 3rd now all things considered
-
Indeed. I had heard rumour he was going back south in the summer regardless as he has a business in London.

Time for a dedicated thread for the Gaffer I think. https://www.afc.co.uk/2023/05/01/robson-and-agnew-extend-their-aberdeen-stay/ I'm pleased with this though I can understand trepidation. Overall though it got to the stage the club didn't really have a choice but to give him it permanently.

Explaining The Potential European Payout??
tlg1903 replied to SeeBass's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Getting to the group stages of the CL gets you about 2.5 mill and Europa about 3 from TV. Also, that's 4 guaranteed home games that are most likely going to be cat a sell outs and that will be worth around 2-2.5 million to the club. Once costs are taken out I would say the value to the club of group stage football would be 4-4.5 Mill. You also get money for drawing and winning games. The money is better in the Europa league but not by that much, I think I would actually prefer going into the conference as we would have a far better chance at qualifying from the group. -
Hard to argue with much of that Rico. I do however think Mcrorie is worth a wee bit more than 2 on the grounds he's under contract for another 3 seasons. I'm not overly convinced Mcrorie is wanting a move either btw but usually money talks in the end. Good luck to him if he does go, he's a cracking pro. I agree he's not irreplaceable in terms of ability in the position, logan at his peak was a better rb you could argue for example, but his leadership on the park will be much harder to replace.
