  1. Just because you put together a shortlist doesn't mean you have to choose one of them either though.
  2. Hmmmm, not convinced of your last paragraph 2bh. I couldn't help but feel burrows was keeping his options open on that score, certainly until the end of the season at least. If they are looking at managers already in employment it would stand to reason some would want to see out their respective campaigns before moving which could Robson some wriggle room. If Robson is given it until the end of the season and does really E.g. He manages to take 3rd place then all bets are off and he's massively in with a shout of the gig on a permanent basis. It would seem to me it will all depend on whether or not there is an outstanding candidate available now. If there is they will get the job. If there's not it seems prudent that it should Robson till the end of the season.
  3. Goodwin confirmed. Massively got the fear for this one now but I'm hoping he will make me feel better by coming out in the press and saying it won't take long to sort the utd defence out.
  4. Oh ffs. Massively got the fear for Saturday if this is true
  5. Yeah I would be perfectly happy with something like that. Steep stands are a must for me.
  6. Fox bring binned and not knowing who will be in the dugout (arguably for both sides 2bf but I would be surprised if it wasn't Robson for us) on Saturday if a bit of a curve ball. I think we should have too much for them though even with our appalling away form. Indeed, an early goal could spell a rout as their confidence looks as shot as ours did against hibs. I'm not going to get my hopes up though, it's just not the season for too much optimism after all, and will predict a solid 2-0. If we can hold livi at arms length like we did on Saturday the demoralised Jute front line shouldn't present any difficulties, indeed I suspect they will set up with the aim of not losing. Obviously if they have a new manager by this point their approach could be different.
  7. Imagine if Goodwin got the gig.....
  8. Main aim from here should still be third imo. Not likely but not unachievable either, especially since hertz have dipped a bit.
  9. Enjoy? No but given where we are coming from I'll take a gutsy win over a very tricky livingston quite happily. We needed a win today and we were probably worth it in the end.
  10. In fairness to Robson he's not been able to play the same defence twice in a row once since he came in. As such given Mcrorie and scales are available it is quite difficult to predict how we will set up. Tough game against a tough opponent but at least we are at home
  11. Oh aye, they got the better part of 20 mill when they sold hickey
  12. Ultimately this is still just paper talk. Given burrows still isn't even in the door yet and colgate is on a sick note we are unlikely to see any movement on a new manager until we are a week into March at the earliest.
  13. Ricardo rodriguez being linked according to the p+j. Bit of a curve ball, Spanish coach who's been managing in Asia for the better part of the last decade. Reasonable pedigree and this is what he did at his last job After successfully having guided Vortis to the first-ever J2 title, it was announced he will join Urawa Red Diamonds for the 2021 season.[19] At the end of his first season he was considered the most valued coach in the JLeague "for the impact on the club and the game changer of Urawa Reds" by recovering the competitive spirit of the team. At the end of the season, the was declared the best coach of the J1 League, and also he won the Emperor's Cup.[20] Weeks later, Ricardo Rodríguez further strengthened his project at the helm of Urawa Red Diamonds by winning the Japanese Super Cup against the JLeague champions, Kawasaki Frontale, and became the first Spanish coach to win the Emperor's Cup and the Japanese Super Cup.[21] At the end of the season 2022, Ricardo Rodríguez decided to call time on his successful tenure at Urawa Red Diamonds to embark on new professional challenges after leading the team to the AFC Champions League final and glory in the Emperor's Cup and the Japanese Super Cup.
  14. This
  15. Tommy Wright now favourite for Motherwell.
  16. According to the fucking Sun apparently Wilder has now ruled himself. Not even remotely fussed 2bh, if he did come and and performed well he would be gone pretty quickly. Cormack has gone back to the states too so I think it's becoming ever more likely Robson and Agnew have it to the end of the season. I can live with that, they seem safe hands for now.
  17. I don't disagree he's been inconsistent but you could argue that was a squad problem during the previous regime. It will be interesting to see what kind of role he plays for the rest of the season. Now he's signed a new contract with boro we might see mckenzie starting over him perhaps.
  18. He did well when he came on for Hayes on Saturday 2bf

    Serie A

I've always had love for Serie A. I'm of the football Italia generation but even if I wasn't it's such a bonkers league I would have to have got involved at some point anyway. I also have soft spot for La Viola (ah, Batigol) but they have been very disappointing domestically this season despite reasonable investment. Obviously keeping an eye on Bologna and it's been pleasing to see ferguson get so much game time. Napoli are just something else and have been such a fun team to watch. looking at the CL draw to my uneducated eye the only teams they need to be wary of are Madrid, City and psg. They have serie a wrapped up though so can focus on the CL to no adverse affect league wise. I would love them to do it, the seethe from Abu Dhabi and Qatar at a team like Napoli coming out of nowhere to scoop what they have long pursued would be fucking hilarious.
  20. Schrodingers Big Al
  21. I don't disagree Motherwell are honking but that has nothing to do with the way we applied ourselves. One of the reasons Motherwell were so honking is because we outfought them. Combine that with how structured the defence looked I would say that's quite a big step forward from where we were against Darvel, hibs and hearts. I certainly don't have the same fear of the San giro next week as I did yesterday
  22. Noice, what odds did you get on that?
  23. We have been excellent all over the park here. I think I'm sold actually. We should give Robson and Agnew until the end of the season and if they get us into Europe (which is massively back on the cards if we continue to play like this) they should be serious contenders for the permanent position.
  24. Now, I know it's motherwell whom have been awful but I can't help but have a wee wry smile on my face at the mo. It turns out this is what sorting a defence out in a week looks like.
  25. Calm down, there is no danger colgate is hiring Hughes. Hughes isn't wrong to say he sets up to play good football but the reason he's oow, and has been for a while, is that he has no plan B whatsoever.
