  1. Why not?
  2. Im not to adverse to letting kids in on the cheap, they are always going to want things like pies, drinks, crisps etc which will make the club a wee bit of money. Not going to wipe out the debt but the way i see it is that if you can get those kids in who wouldnt have been going at full price its more profitable than an empty seat. The downside is that the dross we are playing at the moment isnt exactly going to inspire them to come back regardless of how little it has cost them to get in. When it comes down to getting people through the gate during this financial crisis the product on the park becomes a lot more important than it was say a year ago. A drop in ticket prices across the board might be the only way to get people through the turnstyles unless performances improve drastically
  3. what a mental game of football
  4. From a strikers point of view it was a good hattrick, ironically enough though the best goal was the one he used his foot for. Thought he did really well to get the shot in with three defenders closing in. The second two were just stinking defending, you dont let such a big lad get virtually free headers. Its not like he's particularily mobile either though this is because he's a lot chunkier than i remember when he was at sunderland, he must be a bit of a bulldozer to play against is what im getting at. Still though thats no excuse for a defender as experienced as pressley. Cant see us getting hee haw at parkhead
  5. I think so especially clubs like ours that have always paid wages on time. I imagine a lot of players will be considering how likely their wages are to be paid and if on time when they sign with new clubs. Puts us in a strong position and players might be prepared to take a lower wage for the security of definately getting paid when they're supposed to.
  6. Cant see us getting much from the tims at parkhead MD, not on current form. United are home to killie and fancy them to win that one, cant see kevin kyle getting much change out of wilkie and kenneth like he did against falkirk
  7. Aye i can see that "look at me i can score a weapon free kick" strut about him. For me he's physically to gangly to play at fullback, anytime he's up against anyone who can dribble he gets torn a new one its and mostly because of his lack of agility.
  8. For me mulgrew just isnt a fucking defender. end off. would rather have foster at lb and play mulgrew in midfield.
  9. Dorman is excellent and would love to see him at pittodrie but doubt it will happen cos of the £. I def agree about arfield , really promising player i reckon
  10. Of course not, this was post paterson so we were to busy rubbing our eyes in disbelief at the mythical clean sheet we had heard other fans talking about
  11. Dunno like, if you were a journo wouldnt you check up something like that before you printed?
  12. I am really not looking forward to the ICT game in the slightest
  13. You want to mock fine, i stand by what i said
  14. Woah there betsy!!! Im not trying to take anything away from the achievement but lets look at it rationally. The Dnipro game at home the nearest we came to scoring was a 25 yarder from clark that the keeper did brilliantly to put onto the post. The second leg they were all over us and if wasnt for 4 amazing saves from langfield we would have been out. One in particular when he manged to get his hand onto a ball that was behind him to tip it onto the bar was the best save i've seen from an aberdeen keeper in such a crucial game since snelders. The panathaniakos game we were whitewashed, the moscow game we did well in the first half but didnt have a sniff in the second. The madrid game we played well but were totally outclassed. The copenhagen game was phenomenal obviously and the 1st half against munich was awesome but looking at all the results we did ride our luck to get that far.
  15. Well slightly better in the league but you have to put into perspective the extra games of the euro run and the fact we made two semi finals last season. All adds up to the same assesment for me, could and should be doing a lot better.
  16. Anyone read the article bout him in the p+j today? Sounds like the guy has a decent pedigree but it would be a massive gamble given his injury record. from the P+J Can some please explain to me how you dont notice someone puncturing your lung when your getting your getting surgery on your finger? I asked my friends mum who is a theatre nurse and she was mightly perplexed by this
  17. For me this would be a big hike in domestic consistancy, something i have completely lost faith in JC to provide. The euro run was great for the coffers, morale, pride etc etc and the copenhagen game was the most enjoyable experience i've had at pittodrie in all my visits there but for all that we still only won one game out of six. Dont get me wrong i'm not trying to belittle the achievement, its not our fault thats all we needed to do to get out of the group stage. When it comes down to it though we rode our luck massively enroute to munich
  18. I would agree with that, if we lose though then i think the protest will go ahead for sure
  19. i really hope your right TF, i'm living in inverness at the mo! Unfortunately though i reckon the falkirk game was nothing but a blip.
  20. Theres quite a bit of proof to be fair. Regardless though you still got me
  21. Of course not it was just an example of a how an inexperienced manager had done well on his first time. For me its not about change for changes sake its because i think he's done the best he can and is incapable of taking us any further forward.
  22. How is the dutch league a joke?
  23. Not really what i was saying though is it jim. My point is that speculation and scaremongering of how a nameless new manager will do is completely pointless. E.g. "He's gonna be terrible in europe" says a "who is?" says b "it doesnt matter he's gonna be shite" says a again. Ok bit melodramatic but this is essentially what jager said. You dont how an inexperienced manager is going to handle the rigours of euro football, In jose mourhino's case he nailed first time and won the uefa cup ffs.
