1. Won 4 on the bounce and after a disapointing start the team looks to be finally firing on all cylinders. 2. Theres competition for pretty much all positions bar keeper but ironically this seems to have settled langfield as he's not made one massive fuck up this season to the best of my knowledge. 3. Mcdonald has settled and dare i say is making barry nicholson not missed 4. Our defence is starting to look really stingy 5. Players of great potential are starting to perform eg miller + JDV 6. JC seems to have toned down talking utter pish in the press, has stopped chopping and changing players all the time, is playing players in correct positions. 7. Won 15 points from 15 at pittodrie. All in afc are a pretty tight ship at the moment but you always must strive to do better so what now to improve? Personally i still think we could do with another centre half, preferably with plenty of experience. Trying and get jamie smith to play a few games on the trot without getting injured would be nice. Would also like to see more of some of the kids coming through like paton and crawford. Oh and get the players with expiring deals worth keeping on new contracts Thoughts?

Fucking right btw, i've always thought JDV had cult hero written all over him but he needs to keep the dutch porn star look about him Seriously though i've always rated him as a player and wanted to see him get a run in the side. Thing bout jeff that i like the most is even when not playing particularily well its very rare to see him give the ball away

Actually in fairness to the highland league if you compare the attendances to the population of the town they play in relatively speaking they are quite high. HIbs had a higher average attendance when they were in the 1st division a few years back than they do now. Actually having something to play for is key in getting people into the ground. We had some massive attendences when we were relegation candidates and the fare on show was total dross

i think what i like about football is its ability to bring all walks of life together. Indeed being a football fan is very compareable to being religous in that all members congregate weekly for worship in the same place, sing songs together, hope for the same overall goal and intensly dislike those that worship at different churches. Thing is just because 2 people have an common interest doesnt mean they are going to get on, if you compare to religion again a lot of proddies think ian paisley is a total cunt. as such i have to say that at least half the aberdeen fans i have met are pricks, the other half go from dull to sound on an decreasing scale

I know what your saying aj but a guy can dream, and i dont base my expectations on a computer game. Still if weir can play till he's 38 dont see why ando cant, reckon he'll be back one day to see out his career.

We have still never replaced anderson, i actually re-signed him in football manager and pu him straight in the team. 1st game was against the huns where within 5 minutes he put fergahun out for the rest of the season and scored a last minute winner from a corner. Okay its only a computer game but i couldnt help thinking that there isnt much i wouldnt do to have him back at aberdeen for real. Really the only player i woud be a little peeved at leaving would be jamie "made of glass" smith. He might not play as many games as we would all like but when he's on song theres no non old firm player in scotland that can touch his ability.

Oh ffs sorry for having a fucking opinion For large periods of that game i was bored, considering the amount that people moan about the lack of entertaining football on this forum yesterday was an excellent opportunity to address this. At the end of the day 3 points is king especially when you happen to reside in inverness, For the record though ive spoken to a few folk that agree with my assesment. 3-0 is a great result but a lot of folk seem to be wanking off over what was an average performance over a total dross side

3 really good goals, dazzlin's in particular was top drawer. Worked really hard to get onto the ball then provided a sublime finish. That said i was really bored most of the game. I'vve been to some cracking games at ict, normally its a real battle but yesterday we didnt even have to get out of 2nd gear the whole game. I was disapointed with the attitude of a lot of the players, thought we should have pressed the game a lot more. Aluko was completely anonymous though he was given no supply whatsoever. In the 1st half JDV kept wandering all over the pitch which led to more than one incident of players looking to pass wide right and having no one there. If i had to choose a mom it would be seve or kerr for their efficient if unspectacular defensive work. Great to win 3-0 dont get me wrong but it could have been so much more had we actually tried

Think it will all be down to the defence, if they show up then i think we will win. Any silly mistakes killie will do us

Fancy a lap round Pittodrie for charity?

My flatmate is one of the main organisers for this, when she was putting it all together she was asking me loads of questions about aberdeen like who was any good etc. Bonus is she's going to try and get me a signed top -
Next confirmed gig for me is ages away, gogol bordello in the carling academy

Listening to the quarter final replay game against celtic last season. I was in the falklands and you can get radio 5 down there, it was the commentry game by some miracle and i decided to go to the gym. When mackie scored i was on the cross trainer and promptly fell off spectacularly and much to the amusment of everyone else. Didnt care for about 10 seconds though then realised what i had just done and sheepishly got back on. Not my finest hour

You raise some interesting points but i dont think everyone is polarised in their opinions. A lot of fans like myself have backed calderwood for years stating that its a results driven business and regardless of how they have been achieved that JC had some impressive ones under his belt. These same fans were also annoyed with his constant tinkering with the side and quite frankly ridiculous tactical choices but were prepared to look past this given that results for the most part were going our way. Clearly this season this has not happened, hence posts like this. If we take a shoeing at home from a very average hibs side then i think its quite right that knives are getting sharpened

Personally im kinda stuck between two and three

I've read join me and yes man, is this of similar calibre?

jet - are you going to be my girl

Brookmyre is really good but truth be told his earler stuff is a bit snappier. Just finished reading a snowball in hell and its highly enjoyable but just doesnt have the same punch as not the end of the world or quite ugly one morning
-
yeah miller hasnt really set the heather alight in terms of goal scoring but some of his link up play is really good. I blame his lack of goals on the lack of decent service all the strikers get. Our "wide" players very rarely seem to hit the byline to cross and our centre mids aint really kings of the through ball.
-
"Jimmy calderwood in pointless news story shocker". Instead of spouting crap about trophys when we have 3 months before we play our next cup game howsabout focusing on training the defence to not concede sloppy goals. 1st goal on sat was completely preventable and clangers should have come for the second
-
going 451 would be the way forward for this game. kerr in front of the defence with seve and mcdonald in front of him.
-
Load of bollocks considering that the problems have been in defence where the only changes have been the constant swapping about of the back 4. Fair enough mulgrew came in but he settled pretty much straight away
