Its impossible to say how a different manager would handle the pressure of league games let alone european games so until you start talking about specific cases there is no point in speculating and scaremongering. Its probably not even relevant as i am very sceptical that we will finish in the top 4 anyway

I voted calderwood out at all costs. My reasoning for this is that i have got off the fence and planted my flag, short of a miraculous change in style from JC i wont be going back on my decision. By this logic for the club to progress he has to go as soon as possible therefore this is my priority for the rest of the season.

I totally disagree. Who do you take more seriously, the header thats kicking off loudly or a calm and reasoned person with a structured argument? If you are going to have a protest you really want to have some clever slogans and songs and as little as possible blind rage, gets you no-where. Unfortunately for you when protesting in the football environment its hard to keep the nuggets away.

The worst thing that happened to billy davies derby career was get promoted. They were nowhere neer ready for it and hence the stinker they had. As such i not going to pay any mind to jewells time in the prem and dont know enough about what happpened in the championship to comment. Tv coverage maybe but its not like the football world ignores what happens north of the border. Look at Mowbray for example. the standard of football might not be as good as down south but you've got little to no chance of a cup final or getting into europe in the championship. Scotland football provides the opportunity for a manager to show how he copes in some of the high profile games.

There is no such thing as a managerial appointment that will guarantee success. Its always going to be a gamble just like when you sign a player. I cant argue with anything else you said montana but what you are asking for there is impossible.

He had my backing providing he got results, this was the only thing that could distract me from his talking pish in the press, sucking up to the old firm, tactical ineptitude, constantly playing players out of position, terrible youth record and APPALLING football on the park. Calderwood came into a club in turmoil and admirably steadied the ship. There have been times when I have been delighted with him but with sickening inevitability this has faded time and time again. My point is he’s not been all bad. Cup results though are important to us and clearly this is where the club needs to develop. JC has proven he is incapable of this in spectacular fashion, beaten on penalties by 3rd division part timers, conceded 4 goals to a mid table 1st division side and then failed to beat another 1st division side over 210 minutes of football who had lost its last 4 games. Throw into that the total capitulation to utd in the league cup semi and the same result to a very average Kilmarnock side and you have the straw’s that broke the camels back. Cup shocks happen in football but for 3 seasons in a row? Thats unarguable incompetence especially when you think of the lost euro revenue that a cup final place would have earned us last season. On these grounds i want him gone. I want eric black to replace him and no i dont care about his lack of managerial experience. The couple of jobs he's had have sufficiently impressed me. He's cultured, thinks before he speaks, knows the scottish game and most importantly knows the club. I know peopel dont necessarily agree with this but i feel it in my bones he is the right man for the job and i trust my instincts.

Thats a good call to be fair though i can never see it happening given the reputation the beach end has
