  1. It’s sad that we have to hope for a minutes applause because we are worried about our fans embarrassing us at what should be such a simple normal thing to pause silently and pay respects.
  2. Yep, sad news. He’d been ill for sometime so not a shock but still very sad. He’s done a lot for the game in Scotland and was respected by everyone.
  3. For me a fair chance is a full season, unless it’s gone completely pear shaped and we are fighting relegation, which I don’t think we will be. It’s effectively a new squad and the signings and shape will take time, like Glass will take time to work things out. We all know he’s not the finished article but I think he deserves a fair chance, which is not the few months that he’s been at the club and one transfer window. Regarding him being Cormack’s mate. Cormack could have gone out and got another manager, a so called bigger name and he no doubt has the money to do that. However, he hasn’t got where he is in the world today, as a successful businessman, without being smart, shrewd and having the ability to see a project through. Cormack must see something in Glass, something which made him avoid the easy option, which was to appoint a ‘safer’ bigger named manager, and appoint Glass. He wouldn’t have got where he is today by appointing him just because he was his mate. I have mates that are great mates to me but I wouldn’t want to be working with them or have them running my business. There’s a huge difference.
  4. Disagree that Gerrard is exactly what Newcastle need. Newcastle need to survive this season and stay up. That is all. In an ideal world there will be a manager who comes in, does that and kicks on with bringing in big players in the various transfer windows. Gerrard has no experience of a relegation battle and I don’t believe he is what Newcastle need right now. He has very little experience as a manager in general. He has been in charge of a team who have won a league because their main rivals imploded. Admittedly, I do think he has done a good job with Rangers but the public out pouring of how good he is has been fuelled massively by how shite Celtic have been for the past 12-18 months. Did I mention he’s a horrible cunt. I think that Unless Newcastle pull a rabbit out of the hat, the project this year is to get someone in to keep the club up. Perhaps a Roy Hodgson or someone like that. Just in until the end of the season. Then by that time, there will perhaps be some movement in top managers, who know the club is safe in the EPL and would welcome an opportunity like that.
  5. Hopefully Gerard gets nowhere near Newcastle, ever! He’s a cunt. He does a good job of trying to portray a non-cunt but he’s a cunt. A horrible cunt.
  6. Out making curry eating curry drinking beer System change. 5-3-2 formation. 3-0 Dons. Hedges, Bates, Ramirez.
  7. FFS! Everyone just needs to calm down and take a fucken chill pill. Glass is not going anywhere anytime soon. Now, if we get nothing from the next six games then that might change and although we are playing clubs who are playing well and have points on the board during the next six games, I very much doubt that will happen. Let’s get behind Glass and the team and get it right up the hibees!!
  8. Mr Nisbet can take a seat on the bench. Step forward scrappy-doo !
  9. Edit: sorry…fat fingers! Sonia Cormack is not Dave’s wife…I don’t think!? It was meant to say So is Cormack “another twat buying stuff”?
  10. So at what point does it become “Hunnish” as you call it. How much would Cormack have to put in for us to reflect your analogy? Is bidding £500k for a player from a rival Hunnish? Yes?? No??? How much would it take? £1MM, £2MM, just how much money has to be thrown about? Are we already Hunnish to the likes of livi and Hamilton? Sonia Cormack “another test buying stuff”! What makes us any different, right now. mot is being done by us, just in a smaller scale so get off your moral high horse. It’s done in the highland league. It’s done in the lowland league. Kelty are a prime example. Cove are another. Salford city another. Teams that have bought big team status. Just in a different pond. Sometimes it doesn’t work. Venkys at Blackburn being a prime example. Leicester did it…not on the same scale as City it Chelsea but they did it. it happens in every industry…not just football. It’s not fake, it’s reality.
  11. Logan’s time at the club should never have ended like this. Cormack has got to address the Brown/Tonev/Logan race issue. Just because Shay is no longer on the scene doesn’t mean the issue has gone away. Whether that’s with Cormack addressing it in person and/or getting Brown to do it, something needs to be said. Hopefully there are mitigating circumstances regarding Brown’s role in that, that we are unaware of. I’d really like Brown speak up on this as soon as he arrives. it’s a great question for Cormack whenever his open mic night is!
  12. Realistically, is it not the case that there will be some amount of time before he can actually be allowed in and around the players...approx 2 weeks? Which gives perhaps sufficient time for his team to tidy up any loose ends at their clubs and join him so it all happens in a one’er. i’m not sure what the current rules are regarding travel that’s not asssociated with European competition or where he is at the moment etc but I would have thought he will require a Covid test, then a period of time waiting on results and before he can get on a plane, then a further quarantine period in Scotland prior to meeting the players etc??? I could be wrong with this but by default there may be a wee window of time that actually helps him and his proposed team of guys.
  13. Agreed 100%. Hopefully that will happen and Glass will watch on and observe things rather than being directly involved straight away, until his entire team are ready to go in.
  14. I said, let’s get behind Chairman AND manager. You have conveniently responded without mentioning that, although it appears pretty clear what you think of Cormack based on your assumptions on Glass only getting the job because he’s Cormack’s mate, or because Cormack lined him up as soon as he took over, or because in your words there was no process. You haven’t a clue about any of that. It’s just negativity and a failure on your part to give Cormack a chance. I hope that he and Glass prove you and the rest of the nay-sayers wrong.
  15. Well said. let’s get behind Cormack and Glass. The doom, gloom and negativity from some folks is embarrassing. It’s like they are only happy when they are moaning. mid hate to have their outlook on life. Miserable bastards!
  16. There are plenty other clubs owned by successful businessmen that have appointed good managers. Just because Stewart Milne couldn’t do it, doesn’t mean there is no relationship.
  17. How do you know Cormack wants a yes man? how do you know Glass is a yes man? Cormack is a very successful businessman and for all you know, perhaps he despises a yes man. Perhaps he likes to be challenged! We know very little about both of them so let’s try and be positive and give them our backing.
  18. It’s simple...Regardless of who gets the job, whether they would have been our first choice or wouldn’t have made our shortlist...it’s irrelevant. Our job as fans is to support them and the team. I would say there’s at least 3 transfer windows required to turn the squad around and we need to be patient and give them and Cormack time.
  19. There’s about 5 pages here talking about Glass and Brown and whether they are right or good enough or have been asked or are even interested... this is the Cormack’s first test. He must stop being an Aberdeen fan. Get the best man in for the club. Forget about a big name, unless that big name ticks all the boxes. He must identify someone that will take AFC forward, go in there and get him. Young, hun, old, Tim, or something out of left field. not quite the same but he must stop being Mike Ashley, with Smith written on his shirt, not appease the fans, keep his successful business managerial head on and do what is right for the club.
  20. Agreed. after the dons my second team are Newcastle United and provided we survive, I’d love to see Wilder take over from Bruce next season. I think this is why Cormack and Aberdeen need to try something different. We’ve no chance of attracting Wilder or any other EPL manager and in reality the SPL mediocre managers that have been mentioned are not surprising. if you offer me that or Taking a chance on Glass or another youngster, I’d prefer we go that route than settle for a Goodwin, Robinson, holt, Hughes option.
  21. Am I the only one that wants Scott Brown nowhere near our club...in any capacity? Coach/assistant - a huge risk due lack of experience, personality and being generally thick as mince. Player (as some have mentioned) - shades of Keane going from MU to Celtic or Hartley coming to Aberdeen or Jackie Mac coming to Aberdeen. All way past their best in positions where they need legs and by the time these moves were made, their legs had gone. If Stephen Glass is to be our next manager...let his assistant be someone other than Scott Brown.
