  1. Regarding points in bold…. 1. He WAS better than the two centre backs we currently have. We have no idea what he is like now but at his age and coming back from that sort of injury, with what was already a lack of pace, I doubt he’s any better or even the same as he was. 2. Part of the issue with him leaving was that he wanted guarantees on playing time, not to be just a squad member, so that’s not going to happen unless there is a reconciliation.
  2. The option of the beach never existed during Milne’s time. That option exists now because the oil patch has gone to shit and Aberdeen is on its knees. The hotel that was there is shut and the council now want to try to help AFC help at the same time helping the city. Cormack, like Milne did at the time, is working with the options open to him
  3. Ramsay needs to be hooked. He’s been honking.

So what is it that you are advocating?
  5. Yep, I’m happy with McCrorie extending. I think his strength is actually his weakness in many ways. He’s a good utility player, having been moved from midfield to right back to centre half to cover injuries and squad deficiencies. I still think we will see the best of him in a defensive midfield role as we’re not getting the best out of him in defence. He’s done a good job helping the team to his own detriment I would say. he reminds me of the type of player Phil Neville was, admittedly not as good but, similar in his ability to do well in a few positions when the team need him.
  6. Neil Lennon until the end of the season are words you might see mentioned in the next few days.
  7. I hope they don’t do that if they stay up though. I hope they take a few years to steadily improve the squad each year and gradually climb the league. I think trying to out bid and out-pay the top teams and risk getting wage thieves that won’t graft is a really bad move.
  8. All the money in the world only means something if you avoid relegation. Next season if Newcastle stay up, then they can get top players in. Right now, most top players won’t sign and you also want to avoid wage thief’s. They were there with Michael Owen a few years back…a disgrace of a player for Newcastle. Total wage thief. mall Newcastle need to do is stay up and weakening Burnley and hopefully getting goals through Chris Wood on the end of Trippers crosses might just get them to 17th. It’s all they need and all the goal is, right now. did I mention Michael Owen is a wage thief.
  9. Agreed. gets McCrorie into the midfield too. I’d like to see him and brown together and Ferguson pushed further up
  10. Looks like Nathan Patterson is off to Everton for £10million plus add ons bring deal to £15million. Some move for him and will hopefully be fit Scotland with a right back getting regular football in a top league. hopefully Ramsay continues to progress and we can get a similar sort of fee for him.
  11. I’d like to see Cormack/Glass combo given until this time next year before judging. I think this season was always going to be a transition with quite a few at the club finding their way in new roles. I agree with your comment about our style of football and lack of excitement though. Another summer transfer window and hopefully better balanced squad with a good end result.
  12. With Ferguson and hedges likely to leave and Longstaff away, there might be a place for Shinnie along side Brown. agreed that we need a creative player in to replace the likely departure of Hedges. Think it depends where Glass sees McCrorie playing long term. I’d personally like to see him in the midfield alongside brown but if Bates and Gallagher can’t get it together as a partnership or he sees McCrorie as a centre half long term or as part of a back 3, then there’s a place for Shinnie I think, with the departures. Also, he’s always an option at left back if there are injuries or we want to set up differently.
  13. Yep, Harsh. Bates has come on to a game and is turning into the player I expected him to be. Hopefully over the next few games he will continue to do well, gain confidence and become a stalwart at the back for us.
  14. That will work just fine. Will help to project the noise out of the front rather than lose it immediately upwards and like Rico says, good against the elements too
  15. Old Trafford has a roof that tapers down. To be honest I’d prefer one of the two they built in France recently where the roof closes….I’ll get my coat. but TW, I get what you are saying. I just think it would be a shame to end up with a new stadium that has no atmosphere. even flatter roofs like Easter road would be fine. Imagine how shite 4 south stand designs would be
  16. I like that, except for the roof pitch. The roof on the new stadium needs to not point up to the sky like the south stand and release any noise. It’s need to be a low roof that tapers down towards the pitch, holding in an atmosphere …..and keeping us dry!!
  17. I hope you are embarrassed. Your post regarding racism makes no sense. It’s a serious issue, not to be confused with a rant. best stay off the boner pills
  18. What do you expect, it’s Beaton with another assist
  19. Keep same team as started against Huns if all are fit. Same system. 2-0 hedges and Ferguson
  20. For me, it’s not a free kick anywhere else on the field. You wouldn’t have got every Rangers player and 50,000 huns screaming for a foul, and that is what influenced the ref to give it. it wouldn’t have been a penalty at any other ground, for any other club.
  21. John Beaton with the Rangers equaliser .
