Is it just me or has JC actually lost the plot? I know this is easy to say after-the-fact but, what did JC expect when he decided to take the team to Egypt for pre-season (apart from adding to his perma tan)? 1) It was guaranteed to be baking hot - not exactly anything like the conditions the players will face in the first few games of the season. 2) Even if the training facilities they'd been promised had worked out, it was going to be a 60mile round trip each day. 3) He has moaned that there was not a lot to do for the players in they're off time - surely all that should have been looked into. 4) He once said that all Dyron Daal can do is score goals and that he doesn't offer anything else as a player. He then decides to punt him and sign Derek Young - Well stroll the fek on. Sometimes I really wonder :hammer:

Apparently Willie Miller did not want Young back at todders and is nae happy with the signing - I can only think that JC's had too much solar rays in the middle east. Still can't get over the fact that JC was allowed to sign the wee sheeeiiiiite - Saying that 15 goals next season and all will be forgiven

Although I agree about getting a new keeper in, I'd imagine a keeper is far from the top of JC's priorities - As someone mentioned in a previous thread, Langfield and JC will kiss and make up after Langfield apologies (which he'll do), we'll have another season of Clangers between the sticks.

A bargain it certainly is!! The AFC board should be disgusted with themselves for letting Anderson go for that price. FFS Birmingham are about to pay £2.65million for Garry O'Conner. Even Kilmarnock know to be looking for over £1million for Naismith and although he's a good prospect, he's not proven like Anderson is. Another shambles in the transfer market for the Dons Board. Step up Touzani, Mair, Considine and Diamond.

I remember reading (P&J I think) a few weeks back that if we made it to the group stages it would be worth £11m to us, even if we get pumped every game and finish bottom of the group!

What has happened to the signing of Fik? As far as I know, he's not signed on the dotted line yet. Is this ever going to happen?

Not sure if bringing Preece back would be the way to go but I reckon he was as good a keeper as Langfield and should never have been punted for Langfield in the first place. 3 possibilities at the moment - 1. Rab Douglas (would be a good signing but I'm sure he's looking for bigger wages than we can pay?) 2. David Marshall (Think he's been punted from shellick park - although have never really seen him so not sur eif he's any better/worse than landgfield?) 3. Tim Krul (Newcastle United - Been told to go out on loan - would be a great signing for us. Has Given and Harper ahead of him so never going to get a chance at the 'Toon. Also, might feel at home within our ever expanding Dutch contingent!

McNamara was not bought as a replacement for Anderson. I think McNamara has been brought in for two reasons: 1. To play left back, which he does very well. (Not that Foster didn't do well in that position but, he's better suited elsewhere). 2. To provide some experience in the defence if/when Anderson goes (Diamond and Considine are still young, inexperienced and liable to make the odd howler). I think he'll be a good addition to the squad. I'm hoping Touzani gets a run next season - He can also play in defence if required and appears to be more of a 'natural footballer' than diamond & Considine. If we don't lose Anderson and provided no one else goes (apart from Langfield, as the man's a donkey), I feel we have good strength in depth for the first time in many many years. That's what it's all about these days! Especially with our big European run coming up!!!?!!

Got an email in from AFC red alert so don't think the rumours are shite. To be honest, I'll be glad to see the back of him. What Jimmy sees in him to say, he is the best keeper in Scotland after Craig Gordon, is beyond me. I don't think we stepped up in the world when we changed Preece for Langfield. Not sure about Soutar either mind but, I see that Rab Douglas has been given a free transfer by leicester!!?
