  1. Apparently they are set to make £3 million quid bid for Shankland. Although I think Shanklands probably will do well in the SPL he's not proven, so Big Sam must be worth an extra million at least.
  2. Sounds like the usual shite, we seem to be getting worse at the moment. Considered going along tonight glad I didn't.
  3. Sounds like we got out of Jail with the penalty. Think the fact that we struggled to break down a League 1 side sums up our problems this season.
  4. Apparently Hearts are now in for Matty Kennedy. I would hope considering there is a good chance Hearts wont even be in the SPL by the time he joins that we would be in a stronger position.
  5. I think Mcinnes has got better at blooding young players. But at the same time there is no doubt he has mismanaged some of them. I think it's just giving young players the confidence to push on that he's unable to do at times.
  6. Just tuned in for the last 10 mins. Sounds like Hearts are still the better team.
  7. I would disagree, towards the end of last season when he was playing on the wing was when I thought he looked best for us. He can beat a man which is the sort of player we need on the wings and he has more pace than Stewart did. When you see the ability he has and the things he can do on a good day you would think he should be at a better team than us, unfortunately those days seem to be few and far between.
  8. Its not much consolation but it was reported to be a 2 year deal for Main. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48533992
  9. Reading those rules they basically say Cosgrove isn't allowed to challenge for the ball at all. He cant slow down as he has to get there before Ajer kicks the ball away. His leg which catches Ajer is tucked in so there is minimal contact, what more can he do. Anyway the Appeal was always going to fail because we are not one of the old firm.
  10. We will probably lose the appeal because it will be judged that he was off the ground. Which he just about is. But in my opinion he's made the tackle that had to be made. If it was Scott Brown putting in that challenge most of the Scottish media would be saying it was a great tackle and saying how great he is great at getting stuck into the opposition.
  11. Don't mean to rain on your parade Seebass but Considine only made his debut in 2004 and didn't become a regular until 2005-2006. As Larsson left Celtic in 2004 he probably never even played against him. Still, arguably Klose played at a higher level and could easily be considered a better player.
  12. I don't think its impossible for a player to do it again, it just depends on the circumstances. Considine has managed it partly because of his loyalty, but also because he never stood out and therefore probably hasn't had that many options to go elsewhere. I think the less hes played at left back the better as he doesn't have the pace to play there and that's one of the main reasons hes doing much better these days. He has always been a relatively consistent performer but even now hes not one of our better players.
  13. And on cue he goes and scores.
  14. Financial fair play is a joke. You are allowed to make losses of up to 30million euros over a season as long as the owners can cover it. It curtails the clubs at the very top slightly. Hence why Neymar is stuck at PSG despite Barcelona wanting him back, but for most clubs it doesn't mean anything.
  15. I know a lot of you saying that Jess is a surprise but as a younger (ish) supporter him and Leighton are the only two on this list I actually remember playing for Aberdeen. Maybe that's why Jess is on there because it makes it more relevant to my generation.
  16. Is it not partly that hes starting to lose his pace? I would say the same of Mcginn recently, still a good player but not as mobile as he once was. They are both in there 30's now.
  17. Not disagreeing with you really, We were horrible to watch. I made the comment 10 mins into the second half when I thought we at least showed signs of picking it up. But like I said the application levels dropped off again.
  18. I'm not saying its good. Its just an observation that we were starting to get stuck in at the start of the second half. Anyway we dropped off again towards the end and if Celtic had been more clinical they could have added more. Really poor performance. Bryson looked OK when he came on is the only positive.
  19. Looking more up for it the second half, At least we are fighting and winning the ball now. Still not a single shot though...
  20. This could be another tanking.
  21. Two sided coin, McInnes has brought in the sports science. It didn't exist before he arrived and if we are to blame him for the current injury crises should we also complement him on this never having occurred before over his 6 years in charge? I think the point made above is a good one. There are reasons to be unhappy with some of the things McInnes is doing but blaming him for the injury crises is just being unreasonable.
  22. I imagine there is a lot of people who are on the fence at this point. I'm not in favor of sacking him yet. But I would concede that we do need to improve. I can see that DM has flaws but I am not convinced that another manager could necessarily come in and do a better job. My thinking is that we are in the middle of a re-building job. There has been a few reasonable quality additions over the summer but they will need time to gel together and the current injury situation is not helping. I hope that when/if Bryson gets up and running his experiance in the middle of the park will help some of the younger players develop. Like I say I concede we need to do better as we have been going downhill for a while now and we need to arrest that. If there is no sign of improvement before the end of the season I think that would be the time to think about getting rid of McInnes.
  23. I have to admit this is the thing that frustrates me most about McInnes. Whether this is true or not the young players are not stupid they can see that there is a lack of first team opportunitys. No doubt he has blooded young players over the last few seasons a bit more, but he still seems to be afraid of doing it in certain positions. I dont understand why this is either as the youngsters have done well when they come in usually. The last player to come off the bench and turn a game around... how about Bruce Anderson vs Kilmarnock.
  24. Jack Ross just been sacked by Sunderland. Hasn't got them promoted but still didn't do too badly only lost 2 out of 14 competitive games this season. Might be a good option if we do get someone else in.
  25. Must be getting confused with someone else I thought he was from here. Still Kirriemuir is a lot closer to Aberdeen then it is Glasgow.
